Quaestor Report

Good afternoon, everyone,

It is that time again...time for you to read the dreaded report! Ok, so maybe not dreaded, but some important stuff nonetheless. Still, this will be a short report because I want you to focus on Horizons.

Horizons As you might guess, the most important topic is the vendetta, Horizons. You still have until 11:59pm tonight to submit to some week 2 events. That gives you about 7 hours to get submissions in to the trivia, ident scan, the fiction event, battleplan, graphics, poetry, and the gaming events "The Swarm" and "Asymmetrical Warfare." You can find all the details here: http://www.darkjedibrotherhood.com/horizons/events.php

They have released the placements for week one. Congratulations go to Oberst for placing 5th in the week 1 serious fiction event! Unfortunately, we did not have any other placings from Tarentum. However, I am hoping that we have had plenty of participation. I have not had that many things submitted to the activity tracker, but I'm hoping against hope that you are simply forgetting to copy submissions there (and some things, like trivia, really don't require an email).

Finally, don't forget the run-on events carry through next week, as well as the wiki event.

Promotions and Awards Oberst continues to bring in the Clusters of Fire for playing TOR. Beyond that, there have been no other medals or promotions at this time due to the end of Operation: Supremacy and the start of the vendetta.

Where we are- fictionally and practically I did want to take a moment and let everyone know where the house stands, both from a fictional standpoint (especially helpful for the vendetta), but also practically. By practically, I mean "real life" as we exist in the overall organization of the Dark Brotherhood.

First up, fictionally. Tarentum has just come off of a major political upheaval (courtesy of yours truly) and right into having to combat the plague. It started with the journeymen and went forward from there. At this point, we don't know where it will all end. On top of that, we have been invaded (along with other clans and houses of the Brotherhood) by a fairly powerful force. That is really about it right now- our military is fighting the invaders while the rest of us are trying to control the remaining journeymen and now equites who have been infected. Where this brings us is unknown...

However, I can tell you that, practically, we have been set up (and honestly, every house and clan has) to be destroyed. If we fail to have the proper level of participation in this vendetta, then we will stand a good chance of having Tarentum shut down. I am hoping that it does not come to this, and I will fight tooth and nail to keep us open, running, and growing. Because, we do seem to be growing. I am not disputing the fact that we still have a ways to go, that we need to see more participation/awards/promotions, but I think we are making that progress. I will have a better idea when I get the participation lists for each event. If the past is prologue, I will get to see participants from Tarentum, but not from the other houses.

That's fine. I'm not interested in the other units; I'm only interested in this house. And let me make one thing very clear: I very much view this as your house. Yes, Jason and I are in charge, and we are setting the fictional plot line for the house (with more to come if we survive), but we ultimately are here to serve you. We can do lots of neat things if we survive and if you chime in.

So, the choice is ultimately yours to make...

Now, enough rambling... go forth and kick some ass! Participate, earn shiny things, and keep us alive!

Long Live Tarentum!
