Mystery Of The Day Of The Fox!

This is not my report. That will come in the days follow. For now, however...

As most of you know, today is a special day in Brotherhood history. On this date, 12 years ago, Firefox ascended to the Iron Throne (Grand Master) which later lead to the Exodus. [Thanks to my lovely Editrix , Yacks].

Or so I'm told. I honestly wasn't even around then. Regardless, I figured I'd share a song I wrote and the video I was inspired to create along with it. The video and song seek to answer a mysterious question that has yet to be answered about the Exodus...

Stay classy, DJB, and an early congratulations to everyone receiving a Seal of Loyalty this year.

Cool thing, I really like it.

I demand this video become an annual tradition.

I have no words for this.

As most of you know, today is a special day in Brotherhood history. On this date, 10 years ago, Firefox ascended to the Iron Throne and lead the Dark Jedi Brotherhood to freedom from the Emperors Hammer.

Wrong. None of you kids have any appreciation for history.

Today, in 2001, marks the anniversary of the day Firefox became Grand Master, as a steadfast and stalwart member of the Emperor's Hammer. The unpleasantness came a year and a half later.

...history?

Yes, Wally. Things from the past that can generally be demonstrated to have happened. :P

Sounds yucky. Fixed :D

Shouldn't we also do the Day of Kane Vader, Day of Paladin, etc?

no, because they didn't tell Astatine where to stick it in such a monumental fashion. And Wally... seriously? :P

Wally, you are my hero.

That... that may or may not have given me cancer.

Rewatching the video, I notice a second mistake too.

Instead of Ow, Ow, Ow, the Muz should go Meow, Meow. Meow, what with a lion being a feline creature, and all that :P

Wow. Just wow. :P

wally, l2maths, 2013-2001= 12 :P

11/10. Would question what the Firefox says again.

Math is for old people. It's not important.

I knew Wally couldn't resist a post like this

I was told 2003, hence 10. Again, I did mention that I wasn't around for any of this "history" stuff you guys keep talking about.

Next time you're going to do something like this, let me know and I'll do the singing. Jeez, Wallard.

Wally, clearly you should have checked the Day of the Fox Wiki Article (wait... none exists). Or the Seal of Loyalty explanation on the wiki (which doesn't say what the Day of the Fox celebrates either). Maybe in a Shadow Academy History Course? Nope.

So basically, the only way to remember what this Holiday is for is to ask people who have been around a long time (who will then mock you for not knowing) or read the News Post that the GM puts up where it's explained and lists who has been awarded Seals of Loyalty.

As far as dates go, in my searches I did find on the Grand Master Wiki Page that Firefox took office on November 8, 2001. Odd that no one who was busy critiquing this realized that we're apparently two days early, or is that wiki wrong (need help from person who's been around 13+ years for clarification).

Anyway, thanks for the video Wally. It made me laugh. Even if it wasn't a flawless execution (and how often do those ever happen?) you took the time to create a nice thing for the Club for one of the major Events in its history. Lets get back to appreciating when someone takes some time to do something for the club instead of throttling them and nit-picking their work apart?

-Val

(Woof)

Great job, Yacks! Thanks so much for your help with all of this. Your contribution is truly monumental. Like, just...wow. Can you believe the ignorance of Wally, and his sheer nerve, in doing something like this without getting all of the meaningless details correct? Thank goodness you were here to set the record straight. Today should be the Day of Yacks, clearly, because the hard work that Wally put into creating something fun pales in comparison to the quantity of nits that you've picked.

Wally, fantastic -- thank you for this.

Thank you Glenn <3

Alaris, we can do the remix together! Auto-tune! (I was going to try and mask my voice, but the program I was testing out isn't very good with audio-effects.)

Lol. Love Glenn!

Everyone be hatin'. Well, I say the geriatrics. And by hatin' I mean their colostomy bags fell out.

Nice touch, Wally. Shame some fuckwits had to spoil it!

</Future Star Wars actor rant>

I'm pretty sure that details such as to why the DB marks the Day of the Fox to begin with aren't "meaningless." Yup, I'm pretty sure.

I believe that the arguments/position/frustration here comes from the fact that if Wally was going to put forth something like this for the DB to see - and thanks for doing it, Wally, even if I was one of those to voice my frustration - he should have spent the few extra minutes to find out the exact details, especially since he isn't a complete newb and this isn't the first time The Day of the Fox has been marked in the DB. Those details might be meaningless to Arcona - or just Legorii in particular, since he's a meaningless person - but they aren't meaningless to the rest of the DB, who celebrate the Day of the Fox as well.

And yes, there should be a Day of the Yacks to mark the DB's first Justicar and the fact that because of him and his ideas we have a Dark Covenant.

/me thrusts. Excellent. Also, Val, I'm always harsh in my criticism of Wally, but that's only because he constantly refuses when I proposition him.

Wally, that video...wow. Thank you for that. I don't even know what to say, but honestly, thank you. That was the greatest thing I've seen all weekend, and I have seen a lot of amazing things. Thank you for educating us, because if it weren't for you, this history lesson wouldn't stick. Now I can explain to everyone what November 6th means to me, and I can do it in song!

It was my mistake to publish the post without double checking first. For this I appologize. When I did check, my reference was wrong. It happens I wanted you guys to see it when you woke up. I was up till 3 working on it.

Now. To end the dickery.

I appreciate the effort, although it's suuuuuper weird. :P

Holy shitsnacks people. I was just playing around. Stop with the persecution complex :P

Speechless!

what does the firefox say?

"Stuff it, stuff it, stuff it, Ast!"

Funny stuff, Walls. Thanks.
