Tribune: Recruitment report #2

It has been a little bit over one month since my report, so it is the time for another one.

First, congratulations to all participants and winners of the Dark Crusade. It has been quite a challenging thing to take part in each Chapter of the Dark Crusade. Congrats and thanks!

Social accounts

As the Dark Crusade has finished this week, we are able to proceed with the recruitment projects with full speed. Two days ago, we have started with social media stuff. Here are the links to them:

  1. Facebook fanpage - https://www.facebook.com/darkjedibrotherhoodofficial?fref=ts

  2. Twitter - https://twitter.com/DarkJedifanclub

  3. Youtube - http://www.youtube.com/channel/UCiPNUeLBQzHfpIpKibQE0tg

There are empty yet, as they have been set up two days ago, but they will get filled up with time. Like, share and comment! We need to reach as many people as we can, so that it appears as recommended page for other people. It is one of the areas, which rely on you, regular members of the Dark Jedi Brotherhood. We can achieve our goal only with your help!

We will fill these accounts with short messages, recruitment videos, interviews and others, so stay tuned!

Official DJB blog

Yes, we will have an official DJB blog. It will include exclusive materials about our club, which will deal with fictional background of the Brotherhood, interviews with club members and other similar things. We estimate that it will be launched within two weeks since now. We will reach some members of our club to interview them, so if you have any questions, which you would particularly like to be asked to these people, let us know. If you wish to write anything for the blog, contact us and we will see what you may come up with.

Sharing ideas and helping the Recruitment Team

Few people have already approached me with interesting ideas and offers to help us in one or another way, despite the fact that they are not on the Recruitment Team. Even if you do not have an exact idea how to help us, do not worry. We will come up with a suitable project for you. There is much to do and everyone shall be able to do a minor or a major thing to support the recruitment process.

Marketing corner

As promised in my first report, time for a short lesson about marketing. Today, we shall talk about one of the tools, which are utilized in marketing – marketing mix. In its most basic form it is a set of four factors, which influence customer’s decision to buy something or not:

  1. Customer’s needs and wants – an item or a service is aimed to satisfy customer’s needs. Customer usually thinks what he or she needs and how a given thing will meet his requirements. In case of Dark Jedi Brotherhood, it will be the ability to have fun in free time through participating in our activities and interacting with other members of the club;

  2. Cost – it includes more than just mere price of a product. The cost also consists of additional expenses ( tickets, Internet ), time spend on traveling to a given shop and so on. In case of our club, the primary cost would be time required to participate in competitions and other activities;

  3. Communication – instead of just promoting of products, their sellers must interact with possible customers, what allows them to learn more about products and avoid straight manipulation. Communication is also broader than promotion, as it includes advertising, PR, personal selling, viral advertising and any other mean to communicate with possible customers. The Dark Jedi Brotherhood should utilize direct tools of communication, like e-mail, blogs, social media and PR, in order to reach our target group – possible new members of the club;

  4. Convenience – easy ways of buying a product and accessing to the information about a product has vital meaning for customers. With development of the Internet, place itself has much lesser meaning than the convenience. The Dark Jedi Brotherhood is an online fanclub, so we people may join us wherever they can access the Internet. We must take care of reaching them in as many ways as it is only possible, so that they may easily go to our website and join us.

These four areas have crucial meaning for successful marketing campaign. When you think of recruiting someone else into the Brotherhood, especially someone, who is not your friend, you need to remember about these four factors. Always think about them from the point of view of your target group. Otherwise, you will miss the target.

Final thoughts

Certainly, the time since my appointment has been pretty quiet, as far as the recruitment issues are concerned. Do not worry. It has been a month, which we have utilized for internal works and preparations, which have been necessary to create a solid foundation for future actions. Now, as we are no longer bound with Dark Crusade activities, we will focus our efforts on recruitment.

Will you be looking over all the Ad Campaign entries from the Dark Crusade in an attempt to siphon ideas out that could potentially help with the T:R position?

Yes, I will take a look at them later this week.

Good report...brings be back to my Business Administration days in College :D Marketing mix ftw! lol

I hope you consider my proposal I've sent. Good report

Great report! Glad to see things pushing forward!

Loving it!

My latent quasi-OCD compels me to suggest something: Use a square (or circle) image that is easily recognizable, when displayed at a small size, for your profile picture across Facebook, Twitter and YouTube. All of those places use Square boxes to display those images, and the "Join us" image is too wide to fit... it's also displayed way too small to actually read.

Maybe the 'join us' image could be the facebook page's cover photo? It could probably be adapted and stretched out to fit that.

Having some actual branding would go a long way on all these pages.
