Holidays are over and its time to get back into things. So on to another edition of the Clan Report. Things went fairly well over the holidays, except for the limited number of submissions I recieved on the power competition I started before I went on leave. For those of you who forgot, yesterday was the deadline. Remember this is for all orders, yes that means Krath, Sith and Obelisk too. Summits also remember that I expect participation from you as well. ;)

I recently recieved a proposal from Dark Jedi Knight Ziguarath and Jedi Hunter Onwai regarding giving active members more recognition within the clan. I like the idea and will be putting it into this place this month. The proposal (with a slightly edited Krath portion):
RECIPIENTS: Archpriest Ciara and Battlemaster Proton
SUBJECT: Consul and Proconsul Personal Guards
DATE: 26 Dec 01
What we propose is a system that allows the most active members from each House to be publicly recognized in front of the rest of the Clan. All too often the members of each house do not know the elite members from the other houses. With this proposal the most active and productive members will be recognized with honor amongst their peers. Here is what I propose:
The top two members from each house will be chosen on a monthly basis and be rewarded with honorary positions of protection for the Consul and Proconsul. The top member from each house will serve the Consul and the second member from each house will serve the Proconsul. Following is the position that each house member will hold.
Obelisk: Serve as the Consul/Proconsuls personal bodyguard for the month. This person will be rewarded with a cloak to wear with the Consul/Proconsuls personal seal. After their time of service is over they will give back the cloak but will be presented with a ring that shows their stint of service. Each successive time they hold the bodyguard position they will be given another diamond to put in their ring.
Sith: The Consul and Proconsul for Clan Tarentum have been presented with gifts from the Sith members in the form of TIE Defenders that hold three passengers along with the pilots. The Sith members chosen by the Summit leadership will be the pilots of these ships while the Obelisk guard and Krath advisor attend to the Consul/Proconsul. The seal of the leader whom they guarded will be emblazoned on their helmet after service.
Krath: Krath have traditionally focued on the more 'religous' and mysterious aspects of the Dark Side. The Krath will serve the Consul and Proconsul as advisors and also help to protect should the need arise. For their service they will be rewarded with a staff containing Force-filled jewels. Each time they serve they will receive a new jewel for the staff.
This system will allow the members of Tarentum to work harder and be rewarded for their loyalty. It will also help Tarentum move in the right direction in becoming one of the most powerful clans in the Dark Brotherhood.

I'd like to thank both Onwai and Ziguarath for taking the time to write up this proposal and bringing it before myself and Proton so that it could be implemented. I'll try and have the first round of members by the end of this month, and they'll then be in that position through Febuary, and we'll select new members at the end of Febuary, etc..I'd like the Proconsul and I to make the final decision on who the members are so we're sure to stay in contact with all the members, but suggestions from Quaestors/Aediles are always welcome. ;)
And on a final note, there's a small run on taking place on the Tarentum board right now that everyone should check out and try and write in. =)

*MD Jumps out of his fighter after omming back from leave to find things
the same way the always were. Most people to drunk to wallk, His monkeys are
fending off Face and Corsairs pranks and he has managed to get himself in
trouble with Striker again. Seeing this he trys to get back to his ship to
go back on leave but is triped by Striker's force powers and is reminded
that there is work to be done. So with a little help from Striker's
lightsaber MD makes his way to his office to get back to work as usual.*-the
motto os the story is... never go on leave or you wont want to come
back:P(JOKING! This place is great! don't leave! I don't want to be all
alone!)

Rogue check is underway so I need every one to report! TELL ME YOU ARE
ALIVE! I don't want to send a search party out for you so I wont! if you
don't report your out! Yeah it may seem harsh even for a Sith but it isn't
my decision so REPORT! And while you are at it, fly! Be active do anything,
just don't sit in front of the holonet with beer all day or sit on the
castle door step looking for a hot dog in a kiddy pool wearing only a thong
and hat.(just an example, I don't mean that any of you or me has done it so
don't go telling the fleet I did it. I didn't! Why don't you believe I
didn't do it?! I WAS YOUNG! IT WAS A HOT DAY! PLEASE DON'T TELL ANY ONE
ELSE!)

nuts. I have! It is fun! With the pranking and the cookies and the straight
jackets and bouncy walls!

The first week of this new year see some changes as:
DJK Dax Corrin goes rogue & PRT Ace Hobbes transfers to Clan Scholae
Palatinae.
This week is also the start of Sub-Zero`s Adventures, a fiction based
ongoing story which will be part of the House of Tridens Adventures. What
the heck are you going on about Sicky? i hear you all ask, well i know there
are some excellent story writers amongst us, so write a story based on the
adventures and exploits of our squadron and send them to me, i will collect
them and form a book, then some clever person can make some DB mission on
XvT or TIE and pleeeeeeeeese on XWA hehe. So people can then read about our
adventures and then fly our adventures and then our material can be added to
a big fat book called the House triden Adventures (working title).
So send me your stories, i can print the best one each week in this report &
someone else might want to continue were that person left of & so on, and if
they are really good i might even award a shiny medal:)

Merit Marks.
The new merit system is now in place the details are:
Points are awarded for all types of activity, such as flying, graphics,
mission design and fiction:
All pilot files submitted by a pilot will receive a point for each mission
completed in the battle. So if you complete a 6-mission battle, then you
will receive 6 merit points.
For competitions there will be a set amount of points given to each pilot
that participates, along with the points for the number of completed
missions, entries, etc. for that competition.
Medals aware awarded after a set number of points has been amassed:
Dark Cross (DC) - 60 Merit points
War Cross (WC) - 150 Merit points
Steel Cross (SC) - 300 Merit points
I have put the merit marks in your activity reports, please contact me if
you think they are wrong, theses merit marks are calculated from when i took
command of Sub-Zero.

Announcements DA Mejas Doto
Happy 2002 everyone!!! Hope you all had a good Hogmany and New Year, I know
I did :P
1) Krath CORE Studies has been launched and seems to be going down
well...we've had 4 passes, 1 fail and 2 waiting to be marked (at present
time) so it's looking good. I've sat the course and found it to be
excellent, many thanks to Kaiann for his work in creating it.
2) I have removed Arion Sunrider from M:HM as he hasn't gotten back to me on
a job I sat him, and still hasn't replied to me in an AWOL mail I sent him.
MAA Corran Force, can you please remove Arion as my Magistrate. I DO already
have a replacement in mind, however he hasn't yet delivered what he has
promised, so I'll delay in announcing it today, hopefully another post will
come over the weekend.
3) There have been problems with the incorrect flushing of members. I
sincerely apologise for any distress caused (and yes there has been a fair
bit of it!)
4) In response top these problems I've mailed SCL Grail a document outlining
all problems, and a few pointers that would further enhance the HM's
features. Grail,. I haven't had a reply so I look forward to hearing from
you..hope you aren't lying drunk in a gutter somewhere...
5) The Shadow Academy goes into the New Year with 162 SA CORE graduates and
an additional 4 Krath CORE graduates.
OFF-TOPIC: I don't know how many here in the UK have seen the "Star Wars
FACT FILE" magazine advertised on TV. Well, the first issue is only 50p
(Dunno the price in that new money...what's it called...EURO's!!! LOL...)
Anyhow, I bought it and it does genuinely look really good. Produced by
Lucas Books it should be a great help. The first section contains details on
Darth Maul and the Sith Lords of the first 5000 years BBY. You get a large
COMPELTE GALAXY map/poster and blue prints for the X-Wing and 2B1 medical
droid. I would urge any fan to go and buy it, even just for the first 50p
issue!!!

AED On Leave
The AED is on temporary leave and is currently in Florida. Must be rough,
all that warm air and not a bit of ice on the ground anywhere. :P He doesn
t have regular access to the internet at this time, so dont expect any
rapid replies from him.
Congratulations
Congratulations to PRT Face Loran for placing 2nd in the Caption 2 segment
of the Caption Competition! Its great to see someone from Tridens win a
medal in this competition! Not to mention the fact that he also happens to
be the only person from the entire Clan to even place as well! Well done
Face!!
Activity
Well, Christmas and the New Year have come and gone. So now everyone is
ready to get busy and be active right? Sure hope so, because Im putting
together a House Competition to gauge the overall level of activity within
House Tridens. This will be a special competition, and as they say in
Highlander, There can be only one!. So that should give you an idea of
the type of competition that is coming soon. ;)
Promotion Criteria
Ok, several people have been bugging me lately about what is needed for them
to be elevated to the next rank. Here are the simplified guidelines for
being elevated from the listed rank to the next level:
ACO Must complete a single DB Battle from the TIE Corps Battle Center.
Battle must be a minimum of 5 missions to be accepted as the requirement.
PRT Current requirements are that the member complete one DB Battle each
week for five (5) weeks. This does not mean fly five battles in one or two
weeks and expect to be promoted. Once the DSC exam is active again on the SA
then the requirement will be to pass the exam in order to qualify for
promotion.
GRD Must stay active on a regular basis and prove yourself worthy of
elevation to the next rank. Assisting your CMDR and/or House with special
projects is an excellent way of demonstrating this worthiness.
JH Same as GRD, only far more activity will be expected from a JH before
they will be elevated to the next level. Achieving a CMDR or FL position and
maintaining an active level while doing so is a big help! :P
Important Orders from the House Summit
After the sudden transfer of a House member who failed to follow the
protocols set in place by the House Summit, I have been forced to take
action. With the help of the MAA there will be some changes to the transfer
process to ensure that the QUA is notified of any pending transfers before
they are approved. However, in the meantime I am still holding to my
original order that anyone wishing to request a transfer MUST first submit
the request to his or her respective CMDR and QUA/AED before it can be
submitted to the database. The MAA is in agreement with this policy within
House Tridens so I expect it to be followed from now on.
Merit Points
Remember Tridens, you can earn points for activity, participation in
competitions and events, as well as for promotions! So lets get busy and see
who will have the gloating rights for having the most points and subsequent
awards!! Here is how the points for medals break down:
DC - 60 Merit pts
WC - 150 Merit pts
SC - 300 Merit pts
So lets get to those fighters and computer consoles and get active.
Remember, activity isnt only flying, it is also participating through
fiction, graphics, mission design, etc.!

House Cestus Report:
Greetings all,
Hope everyone has had a Happy Christmas and New Year, but now the festivities are over its time to shake out them holiday cobwebs and get on with the job at hand.
There has been quite a bit of Activity from some members over the Christmas break, JH Darkov has created a Battle Team website after I recommended he take the SGT position, I like the look of it but Zsinj will have the final say.
Also JH Onwai sent a proposal into the Summits and we are still waiting on confirmation before we make it fully public more on that to follow.
During the Christmas period I played some JK with Sharad and Shadow, I urge others to do the same now the break is over as medals are up for grabs, i.e. most improved.
Also dont forget to contact Zsinj for his JK practice we all need to practice and I will even be utilising his services over the next couple of weeks.
Also a quick reminder of things we have going on still we need ideas graphics banners etc for House motto, website etc. etc. also the new name for the battle team, so dig out those utilities and thinking caps for those who submit will be rewarded.
I will not be about for the next two weeks during the week as I am resuming my Networking course in Holland so I will only be available at weekends unless I can convince the instructor to have access, but please feel free to e-mail me and I will respond as soon as is physically possible.

(As you all know, Hades, who was formerly the TET of the Wizards, is now the Aedile. As such, we are accepting applications for the position of AED. Hades will be acting in his former position of AED until a new AED is chosen, or until I can verify whether or not he can maintain his position of TET as well as AED.

--Merit Points:
Remember Gladius, medals and promotions can be earned faster, by mere participation. Merit points are given as you participate, and more activity brings more points, which yields medals and promotions. Awards and promotions according to point requirements as follows:
-Dark Cross -- 50 points
-War Cross -- 150 points
-Steel Cross -- 300 points
-Grand Cross -- 450 points (because Activity is the heart of the Brotherhood philosophy)
up to GRD -- 150 points
JH to DJK -- 300 points
above DJK -- 450 points
I have not yet assigned a minimum/maximum point limit yet, but points will be awarded for quality, length, and extra points may be awarded for special considerations. Points can be earned for stories, poems, run-on participation, pic submissions for fun comps, anything.
--Dark Voice Submissions:
When you submit to the Dark Voice, you can earn merit points for those submissions as well. Make sure you CC those submissions to your AED/QUA so that we know to award you for your activity above and beyond what you may receive for submitting.
