Tarentum Proconsul Report 8

**

The proconsul breathed deeply of the castle mists, hoping to clear his head. Long nights in the dank Tarentum libraries, researching arcane subjects for the clan's secret Dark Jedi projects, left the proconsul addled. It was time to return to the central corridors.

CLAN NEWS MISCELLANY

There is so much going on in our clan these days that it is impossible to cover everything of merit. Here I will graze some of the most enlightening items, either as reminders of important points from the CON, QUA and AED reports or as needed exclamation points on achievements and vital matters.

-- The Obelisk Order leader, Sharad, had this to say in his recent public assessment of Obie operations across the DB:

"Cestus of Tarentum: Ziguarath is doing a great job in my opinion. He's very consistent with reports and has brought his house up to third with the FTF despite everyone's expectations. Darkov was doing a good job, but due to real life problems has been unavailable recently. However, with the return of Darkov to active duty I think this will see a nice rise in activity. I'd have to say that Cestus and Kirleta will be fighting it out for first place as of now. Good work guys."

As we in Tarentum know, our Obelisk house completely rocks. Go, Cestus!

-- In House Tridens, the challenge of the day is to annihilate House Oriens Obscurum in a flight event. Tridens, do some of you long-timers remember that OO was our last victim in other-house competitions? We blew them away more than a year ago in a tough battle. So, your job is to make it two in a row over Reaper and his mouthy Oreos :)

From the Tridens summit, here are the details:

SP Events: All pilot files to be submitted as usual to the CMDR/AED/QUA.

TIE:

TIE-DB #11

XvT:

XvT-DB #4

XWA:

XWA-DB #2

MP Events:

1v1 and 2v2 MP matches are permitted and are to be reported to the CMDR's, AED, and QUA once they are completed. 5/5 or 10/0 matches permitted, but ensure that when you setup the match that both sides are clear on the parameters.

The AED will be recording the scores for the SP matches, and the QUA will be tracking the MP matches.

This competition is running until 4/30/02.

-- DJK Darkov reports favorably on Jedi Knight II. And he relays word of a JK2 event from Sharad:

"I'm planning on hosting a JK2 tournament on Saturday, April 13th which starts at 3:00 PM EST in #Obelisk. It will be a single elimination tournament with online brackets available as the tournament progresses. The settings will be no force sabers with a choice of levels between the Carbon Chamber and the Trial Pit. At least 8 participants will be required for this to take place. Medals will depend on the amount of participants."

Oh, yes, this JK2 event also is open to Krath and Sith.

-- From the "Hey, That's Very Cool" department: Tridens construction droids have begun work on a Class 6 space platform! SW Torres reports:

"Following orders issued by the Sith High Warrior, construction began on a Class 6 space platform in orbit of Yridia, homeworld of House Tridens. During this month, work progressed swiftly and following completion, the engineers began their safety tests to ensure that it can be considered operational.

Their report just arrived on my desk with the result of 'Status: Fully Operational'.

House Tridens has been given a new orbital platform from which future operations can be launched. Named 'Aegis', the Class-6 Platform will have each BattleTeam assigned to it for one month. Also I have decided to move my own offices to the platform.

For the month of April, Sub-Zero BattleTeam has been selected for duty on the platform. JH John Clark, have your pilots report to the landing platform and prepare to depart."

-- KAP Sith Bloodfyre reports that the Gladius-sponsored "Fun Debate" begins April 15:

"The debate is open to the entire Clan, and I would like

to see everyone participate.

While it will be Gladius against Tridens (or our Tridens brother, Murkow Defender, in particular), you may choose either side, or to merely watch as we sit and watch with mirth as Murkow tries to prove he is more insane the we of Gladius. Some of you have already chosen to participate, but I am hoping we can get full activity from our House! Let us show our brother Murkow of Tridens that Gladius truly is a force of insanity to be reckoned with!

-- Gladius has a bunch of other stuff going on too. Run-ons, etc. This is one reason my mailbox seems always full ;)

-- Tarentum MB topic of the month, LOL: "Insanity Debate -- Sign Up Sheet"

-- KP Telona tries to drum up interest in a Star Wars-related gathering in her hometown:

"Well I guess I must say since Celebration 2 is coming to my home town and all, I'll be more than happy to do lunch with anyone who'd like to. I don't plan on going to the event, I hate crowds and paying $30 to stand in a crowd. It does look like it's going to be great though. Oh and those who do come to Indianapolis, don't mind the homeless old man who walks around and yells at the "person" beside him. That guy's a bit on the crazy side but he is mostly harmless, just don't touch. Oh and if you smell something funny in the air, that's the White River reacting to more chemicals being dumped into it :D "

-- House Cestus has a new mail group: [Log in to view e-mail addresses]

-- Cheaters. A handful of our members recently were busted for cheating in the TIE Corps. The clan summit is discussing the repercussions.

-- DB site. Quite often it is inaccessible to me. Wonder if others have experienced this. But usually if I try again in a few minutes, it's up. ...

LATEST BROTHERHOOD NEWS

-- Scholar of the Month Hall of Fame 4-11-2002

Posted by DA Mairin Astoris - 5:38:01 AM

Ok, so I got bored and cobbled together a webpage so we can record all those people who get awarded Scholar of the Month; you can also add it to your ID lines if you want to (just to make them that bit longer). The page is located @ http://www.darkjedibrotherhood.org/krath/som.htm.

If you were given the title of Scholar of the Month in the past, you can get your name up in lights by mailing [Log in to view e-mail addresses] with your name, the month and year for which you were given the title, and your rank at the time (if you remember it).

-- Shadow Academy 4-10-2002

Posted by GM Firefox - 7:02:58 PM

As of this moment, all the Shadow Academy tests have been graded. There shouldn't be any of them left. If for some reason you submitted a test and it hasn't been graded, please contact me or resubmit a test. But I seriously doubt that anything was missed.

A new Headmaster should be selected by friday night.

-- AWOL Reminder

Posted by DA Corran Force - 5:15:34 PM

The due dates for the AWOL check will be due by the 15th. If you haven't gotten them in do so soon.

-- The New Dark Hall 4-8-2002

Posted by KAP Shadonyx - 9:28:57 PM

At the request of DGM Astatine and GM Firefox, I created a new Dark Hall, but in writing only. I'm not a graphics person (at least, not in the 3D terms) so I don't have any pretty pictures.

Feel free to offer up your comments to both myself, the DGM, and the GM.

The description is at: http://abyss.borkweb.com/ocl/darkhall.txt

-- Award Revisions Part II

Posted by KAP Shadonyx - 8:44:06 PM

I'd like to thank everyone who sent me comments regarding the Awards. You have been heard and I have made changes. The most notable change is the return of the War Cross awaits the cheers. However, the Bronze Scroll is dead and gone.

The most drastic changes, you'll note, lie in the "Awarded by:" section of most of the Awards. There has been more power given in regards to many Awards. Now, with these revisions comes great responsibility. I do look at all the award recommendations that come to me, and if I start seeing certain awards being given to liberally, I won't be happy. I'm putting my trust in the membership that this system will not be abused.

Finally, a word about the Crescents. They will be used for ALL House, Clan and Order competitions, except for "Make a House/Clan Banner/Motto" and other short, fairly menial competitions.

If I do not get any drastic comments or suggestions, then this will be the version of the Awards that will go into the revised DSC. The URL is still at: http://abyss.borkweb.com/ocl/awards.html

-- Font help needed 4-7-2002

Posted by DJP Astatine - 11:30:44 PM

I need to make some new section title graphics for the Dark Side Compendium, but I don't know/have the font that was used for them. If anyone can tell me what the font is and where to get it, you'll get a nice shiny Dark Cross.

TARENTUM QUOTE BOX

"Greetings Gladius for another, yes another, fabulous rendition of the

Gladius Quaestor report, brought to you by the wonderful people Thwapcom, who bring you the arcade version of a Gladius classic, Shock-a-Con! That’s right kiddies! Now, you don’t need a shocking stick, or a cattle prod, just a controller for your game console! Now everyone can enjoy the classic diversion loved by Gladius for years, and assured to be a favorite for generations to come! Visit them at Thwapcom shops everywhere." -KAP Sith Bloodfyre

About Murkrow Defender's pestilent monkeys:

"I was thinking throw-rugs for the fireplace...or new floor mats for my skipray, nah wait, that'd smell up the cabin.

Could always strap them into my torture equipment...chinese water torture, the strecth torture, Hanson/N'Sync/BSB/98 Degrees torture (involves listening to music from aforementioned bands over and over until eardrums burst)...lets see, what else...

OOHHH, I know!, force the monkeys to read the Paula Jones penthouse issue! :P " -DJP Kumba

" ...You eat your monkeys?....all the time?...Sure does explain alot, I'll say :P" -DJP Kumba

"Actually, I did release a protovirus that freely floats throughout Castle Tarentum, affecting any and all Monkeys. It mutates them into Romonkeys, by introducing Ramos DNA into them. Monkeys become exceedingly lazy, smoke pot all day, and hire tons of assistants to do everything they need. That should prevent them from procreating (especially when it requires assistants), thus they'll all die out :P " -DJP Kumba

"Maybe when the crafts have run out of fuel my Obeliskers can go in and clean up the mess.

My guys are standing by with sabers or mops and buckets to clean them up from the floor.

Tridens show these guys how we win wars." -OW Ziguarath

"Remember, my brothers of Tridens. Bring them back alive... if possible. goes to prepare wicked, nasty Krath torturings.. evil laughter " -KAP Sith Bloodfyre

"I'd be more then happy to get rid of those monkeys and watch then beeing sloughtered but I value VICTORY much, much more ;-)))))))) " -

GRD Vortoq

"Uh no, unless your set on handing over one of MD's monkeys to Reaper and his carnivores. :P " -SBM Wil Striker

"Great, so lets roast some HOO pilots then and save the monkey BBQ for ourselves!!! muHAHAHAAHAHAHHAA!!!!!!!

Whoops! I wasn't supposed to let that little secret out was I? ;P " -
