CLAN TARENTUM REPORT 12-18-02

Sith Battlemaster Proton, proconsul, reporting this week on behalf of our beloved consul, Epis Ciara:

-- The CON asked me to remind members that you can apply for envoy's positions, and that leaders need to take the now mandatory leadership course.

-- Tarentum is at 65 members, and there are plenty of competitions going on inside and outside the clan. No excuses for sitting back and watching the Brotherhood go by ;)

BROTHERHOOD NEWS

-- Regarding Inactive Member Flushing

Posted by OBM Mage - 12/17/2002 [6:05:36 PM]

[Bows]

I'm sure this will sail right over some of you, but what the Inactive Member Flush function does is remove:

  1. Apprentices who have remained Apprentices for over 25 days

  2. Novices who have remained Novices for over 45 days

  3. Acolytes who have remained Acolytes for more than 65 days

This function was left quite alone by a number of my predecessors. About a month ago now, I spent over 3 consecutive hours cleaning that mess up.

Effective immediately, I will be using this function once per month, on the first day of the month (aside January 1st, for more than obvious reasons :P).

This is mostly an effort to keep the database clean, and to remind people who are sitting on their hineys to wake up (if they're active).

Also, as a quick aside, we may have a new Shadow Academy site, finally! It's my intention to have it up as soon as possible (props to the wonderful Novice who finally came through with an utterly fantastic design!), and to have it bug-tested and fully functional for the New Year.

Any questions about the new site (especially from my loving coders) should be directed to myself and Pyralis.

-- CoG apologies

Posted by OBM Ziguarath - 12/17/2002 [2:06:40 PM]

I would like to apologise to everyone especially GM Firefox for my long time absence without informing people of what was going on.

The truth is I didnt really know what was going on until it was upon me unforunately I cannot explain what I was doing but sufficient to say it was work related and I cannot give any more details.

Obviously I understand I will need to discuss this situation with the GM but I thought a public apology was due considering my sudden dissapearance after being given the position of COG.

I would also like to thank those who stood in my place keeping things running in my abscence you guys are a credit to the GMRG and the DB.

-- MML 2: Final Results

Posted by DJM Mairin Astoris - 12/17/2002 [11:51:36 AM]

Well, it did get exciting towards the end...!

In first place: House Ektrosis (64 points)

In second place: House Marka Ragnos (52 points)

In third place: House Acclivis Draco (33.5 points)

In fourth place: House Aleema (32.5 points)

In fifth place: House Qel-Droma (15.5 points)

The solutions were:

Scenario 1: The killer was Coranel Both.

Scenario 2: The killer was a Bounty Hunter. The conspirator was Paladorion.

Scenario 3: The killer was Seantor Bareena.

Scenario 4: The killer was Kaine Mandaala.

Scenario 5: The killer was Ghost Angel.

As the first and second placed Houses, Ektrosis and Marka Ragnos win the artefacts that were up for grabs.

Ektrosis wins the Sword of the Avenger:

Sword of the Avenger

Appearance:

At first glance this appears to be a normal broadsword. The hilt is bound in a simple black leather, the pommel jewel a blood red ruby. Below this, the crosspiece is a scrolling piece of gleaming silver, engraved with the figures of men in postures of supplication and surrender. The blade is long and tapers to a wicked point. A blood-channel runs down the centre of the blade on each side, graven with delicate markings, all tinted with the faint colour of dried blood, indicating that it has been used in many battles.

Use:

When used by a Force-sensitive swordsman, he becomes able, no matter what his rank (although he must rank Priest/Warrior to be able to use the sword in the first place), to access the Powers of Force Harmony and Dark Jedi Battle Meditation. If he is a leader of men, this power is especially useful to him. His powers of healing are also exponentially increased. However, the Sword has a limited period of effectiveness, and after 15 minutes, the wielder is not only unable to access the powers of the Sword, but also unable to use the Force himself until he has rested for a full 24 hours. Furthermore, the powers of the Sword cannot be used by any swordsman below the rank of Priest or Warrior, and even then the effort to use the Powers through the Sword can be extremely difficult and taxing. Many have died in the attempt.

Advanced Use:

Known as the "Artefacts of Vengeance", the Sword of the Avenger and the Chalice of Vengeance have a long and bloody history as a duet. When used together, by a Force-sensitive swordsman, and a priest of equal ability, the duration of time for which the Sword's Powers are effective can be increased exponentially. The more Jedi who channel their abilities into any ritual involving the Chalice in order to increase the Sword's Power, the longer the wielder will be able to access both the Powers of the Sword and his own abilities.

Note: The Chalice of Vengeance is currently held by Acclivis Draco.

Marka Ragnos wins the Ring of Wrath:

Ring of Wrath

Appearance:

The Ring of Wrath is a simple band of red metal, carved with runes of mystic power. It is a fairly small ring, large enough to be worn on the ring-finger of a woman's hand, or the little finger of a man's hand.

One of the renowned "Sin Rings", the Ring of Wrath is part of a set of seven, which, when united, allow the user to access a wide variety of Powers associated with the Deadly Sins. In the right hands, they prove Deadly indeed.

Use:

When used by a Force sensitive of the rank Archpriest/Battlemaster or above, the Ring grants the Power of Rage, for an unlimited period. Be warned, however, that once in a state of Rage, the Jedi using the Ring will be unable to use any other Power, and some who have used it have battled until their very last drop of blood has given out, unable to access the Power to Heal.

HOUSE REPORTS

CESTUS

Quaestor Report - 12/14/2002

Posted by: OW Gelton Torr

Dark Greetings Jedis

This is report #9 dating 14.12.2002.and it wiill be the 40th report in the database :P I have a real big heap of news for you so I will immediately start with the first topic:

Activity:

Activity is on a good level as last week and the week before and I´m really glad about it. The only thing that concerns me a bit is the fact that always the same people are active and the rest of the house still could improve in their activity levels quite a bit.

In order to deternmine who in Cestus is really active and who isn´t active at all, I started an activity check some weeks ago. This check ended yesterday and only 4 people out of 27 were completely inactive and therefore will be removed from the roster. The names of the members whom the bell tolls now are:

JH Blackhero

PRT Zeth Ni

ACO Aleckz

NOV Sauron

I will request that these people will be sent to Rogues. After this activtiy check I´m really happy that only these four have to go, because when I started the check I feared we will loose half of the membership, but you all proved me fortunately wrong :-)

And now the usual RM report:

Mike - I found an apprentice - RebCrush.

  • Played a large number of ladder matches

  • played a smaller number of Arcona/Tarentum feud matches - though I won

them. (Aside of those against Dagger. Obviously. One day I'll beat the

sucker. :P)

  • played in the very first Three-Way-Feud match. Unfortunatley we lost.

Well, looks like those cowards can take us only together. :)

  • Aside of that I'm kicking ass and chewing bubble gum :)

  • Oh, right: Dagger, Cypher, Camile, me and a number of free variables are

trying to recapture the Duel of the Fates from Episode I. If you want to be

in it, mail us. We are in need of roughly two people right now.

Rage Maki Thursday

Mostly hang around on IRC and the mB. Tried to get some Arcona-Feud matched

and participated in the Xmas comp

Friday

I played many ladder matches still lost the second place. (opponents: Mike,

Reb)

Saturday

Played again many ladder matches against Sukuth this time and even won!

Didnt participate in the OHC comp because I thought it would be rocket tennis.

Sunday

Had ladder matches against Sukuth and Mike and broke the 200 point mark.

Started with the Feud runon which is actually quite funny. Cant play the

mini events because of my firewall it seems had some discussions with the

judges on that.

Monday

Again posted in the runon and did some stuff for the Xmas comps since my

Trials in Gladius went on I was busy with those but I still participated in

the Obelisk Arena played against Vinny (lost...improved a lot that koala)

and Erei (won ...very close and interesting match) SO I got/will get one

medal :)

Tuesday

Again tried to get with the runon on. Was on IRC and tired to catch some

final Arcona feud match

Competitons:

The most important news first: The Cestus-Galeres Feud is over and Cestus is the winner! I praise all of you Cestides who contributed to our victory, you really did an exellent job in this Feud and clearly showed Galeres which is the better house! I´m very proud about all of you who participated.

Here are now the final result of the House Feud:

Overall score: Cestus 274 - Galeres 232 (a safe victory for Cestus :-) )

JK1 ladder: no scored matches played

JK2 ladder:

1st - Dagger (Galeres) 80 points (8-0)

2nd - Michael Halcyon (Cestus) 69 points (6-3)

3rd - Zekk (Cestus) 63 Points (6-1)

I will display here only the ranks important for the medals, but I have the complete list as well, if you want to know your rank just contact me and I will sent you the complete list

Fiction ladder:

1st - Cypher (9.0)

2nd - Gelton Torr (8.6)

3rd - Lady Rage Maki (7.5)

Dagger is still working on all the medal recommendations so be patient you will get your medals as soon as he is finished. Congratulation on everyone who placed in the top three ranks!

The next point is the Cestus Feud Trainings ladder. This competition ended last week as well. The best three participants are:

1st - Michael Halcyon with 375 points

2nd - Lady RageMaki with 260 points

3rd - Reb Crush with 245 points

You should already have our medals in your inbox. Congratulations on you three, well earned!

The next thing is the DJG three way feud: this is the competition you should focus now on. After some irritations in the beginning it seems now to run smoothly, so go out there and participate where ever you can and contribute to our cause so Clan Tarentum can claim the vitory in the end. Here is the link in case someone doesn´t have it yet: http://www22.brinkster.com/saitou/darkjedigames/

GLADIUS

Quaestor Report - 12/12/2002

Posted by: KAP Telona Murrage

Greetings Gladius members! So how has your week been? Very busy I hope. Well, on to some news.

Promotions/Medals

Rage was rewarded a lot for her submissions to the Dark Voice. I'd like to see more people send their stuff in. Got a cool pic you want them to put up, a story or poem, music even? Send it in and get rewarded!

Activity

Well not very many people sent in activity reports. A total of three people actually.

Rage reported that she was posting for the feud run-on. Great!!! She's also working on getting through the trials and sending lots of stuff in for the Christmas competition. You can catch her on IRC daily and she posts whole bunches on the Tarentum MB.

Jason reported that he was planning several things to send in for the Christmas competition and for the Dark Jedi Games. He also participated in the House competition.

Aari reported!!! She said she was working on things for the Christmas competition and for the Dark Jedi Games.

Kartena, Aliera, and Demerzel are all on leave. Let's hope they decide to come back :D

And that's all for this week. I want to see more in my inbox and in Hades inbox. He will be the one to send your reports to as he is going to start giving big reports on that...as soon as his cable modem decides to work :P

Competitions

Well if you've not heard by now, the Dark Jedi Games is on and you can find it here:

http://www22.brinkster.com/saitou/darkjedigames

If you need to know what the Christmas competition is all about, I always post my reports online for everyone to visit again and again. Feel free to look at it if you need reminders.

http://www.darkjedibrotherhood.org/dbjedi/reportlist.asp?Unit=16&Pos=39

That will take you right to the reports and the one you need to look at is the one I made on the 5th of December. I want to see everyone participate in the Christmas comp!

The House competition is over and done with. Medals will be awarded soon. Sorry for the delay on that.

Finally we come to the monthly Krath competition. I know it gets buried under everything else but if you find the time, I suggest you write for it. Topics are:

Poem: Your Homeworld

Story: The Krath in Combat

Send submissions to our KHP and to Hades and me.

Other items

I know it is time for schools around the world to give lots of exams to their students and I don't want anyone putting school aside for the competitions. Study hard and do well on your exams. That's not a suggestion :)

Kodiak has the monthly AWOL check going on. If you do not reply to him, you will find yourself without a house. Nuff said.

I wish everyone a safe and productive week. Don't forget to send in those activity reports, even if you aren't doing anything! Until next time :D

TRIDENS

(QUA Murkrow Defender has just returned from a computer-problems-imposed absence)

Well, it seems they want weekly reports from me from now on, so to try and avoid just duplicating what MD has to say I'll try and make my reports short and focused. In this report I want to thank all who DID participate in the first round of the SSL. Then I want to thwap everyone who didn't. (You all know who you are)

Here's what the new SHW has to say about round 2.

Now to Round 2, the platform will be X-Wing Vs. TIE Fighter, the Mission is available for download off the Squadron league website. (http://members.aol.com/hades55624/main.htm) The selected mission is XvT Free Mission 10 VSD Victory. All submissions are due Sunday the 15th at 11:59PM EST. Good luck everyone.

Colonel Synjin "Hades" Erebor, Sith High Warrior

And if you haven't submitted yet for the Galthain comp, I need those files by Wednesday.
