Proconsul Report

<bow>

Greetings everyone, as you mostly all are aware I was recently appointed Proconsul of this great Clan. While I have no illusions of ever replacing SBL Proton, I shall do my best to make sure your interests are served and that this Clan continues to grow in both number and in reputation as being THE Clan of choice within the Dark Brotherhood.

Taking over such a large responsibility in the midst of the Great Jedi War is a rather daunting task but there’s nothing like a baptism by fire. I want to personally commend all of you who have taken part in the events to this point. I know some of you are disappointed by some of the results, particularly the run-on and the Krath events. All I can say to that is continue and try your hardest. Remember too, that it is your skills that are being developed here. It is your creativity being exercised. Thus it is to your own benefit that you refocus and recommit yourselves. It will be you who gain in the long run. Please don’t let some arbitrary judgment have a negative impact. Instead, feed on it. Grow from it. And emerge stronger for it. We all, your Clan mates and colleagues, truly do appreciate your efforts and thank you for them.

Keeping with that theme, Phase 2 of the GJW is upon us. The main event in this is the war game, for which the Krath are the central players in terms of strategy. As I understand it, each of the Clans is placed on a three-level hex-map. Similar, in fact, to those used in many role-playing games such Dungeons and Dragons. This type of map allows us to go in all directions, including up or down. Nobody knows where each other’s Clan is located. As we move about, we will inevitably run into another Clan. When that happens, we have three choices: Run like the dickens, Fight like Hell, of form an alliance. If we run, we automatically lose 5% of the forces we have in that hex. If we fight, then losses are figured out according to how the fighting goes. MP matches will determine the winners. From what Mairin said, these matches are non-Order specific. Meaning, if you want to fight for your Clan, you may do so, regardless of your Order. So, if we win 4-1, as an example, we lose 1% of our force and the other side loses 4% of theirs. SP events will be used to mitigate those losses.

AED Hades sent out a Clan-wide email earlier covering some of this and included a link to the details of the Question and Answer session hosted by DGM Mairin in #DB on Wednesday. I suggest you all take a look at that site and at the major competition site. The link for which is: http://www.darkjedibrotherhood.org/dbjedi/dgm/index.htm On the site, the Orders are given specific tasks, but this afternoon it was stated that the events are non-Order specific, at least as regarding the war game ladders.

There are other events as well. The Krath have a story to write about the break-up of the Alliance and the descent into dissension. And they must write a Battle-hymn that will inspire their Clan mates. Details are on the site. Entries should be mailed to the Krath High Priest and the DGM by March 31st.

The Sith have a Battle Plan to come up with. Remember, being a great pilot is not just about flying. Sometimes you need a plan. Here’s your chance to demonstrate your strategic brilliance. Each entry gains a point so the more entries we get, the more points we get. CMDR Vin Doros recently mailed a break down of the forces involved and has a sample Battle Plan on the HammerHead web site. I suggest you Sith take a look and get planning. Remember you can work together on them and adding graphics will add to your score. Entries are to be mailed to the Sith High Warrior and the DGM. Deadline tentatively set for March 31st but may be moved up, according the SHW Hades

The Obelisk also have a Battle Plan to develop, but they also get to design a graphic. Something that would be suitable to wear on your armor. I’m assuming the same rules apply here and that each entry earns a point so let’s get a lot of entries. Deadline is March 31st and entries should be sent to the Obelisk High Commander and the DGM.

Finally, there is an Open section. This area, as the name suggests is open to all members of the Clan regardless of Order. The task here is to write a piece of fiction, a short-story, if you will. The story is about the evil mastermind behind the great invasion. You are cast in the role of a master spy, so be as detailed as your imagination will allow.

There is also a graphics component in the open events. Design a banner or something that reflects some aspect of Phase 2. Deadline for these is March 31st and entries are to be sent to the DGM.

So there you have it. There’s a lot to be done, people. We’re going to need each and every one of you competing to the best of your ability to pull this off. But I know the talent we have in this Clan. And I know the dedication and commitment of the members in this Clan. I am confident, therefore, that Clan Tarentum will rise to its rightful place at the top of the Dark Brotherhood. Cestus, Gladius, Tridens. Three working as One. For the betterment of all.

Hail Tarentum! Hail Victory!
