Consul Report

Greetings Tarentum,

Not entirely much going on this week, but several things to touch on. I am slowly recovering from an extremely hectic RL week, so I should be back in touch with everyone much more frequently now, and better able to get everyone who will be helping me some more solid information for the upcoming Clan Competition.

As we all know the Great Jedi War has come to an end and we are all anxiously awaiting the results. I'd just like everyone to know that I'm proud and grateful for everyone who put forth an effort into this war, you did yourself and your Clan an honour. Tarentum performed well in Phase 1, and due to some rather odd circumstances Phase 2 didn't turn out quite like we had expected. . .but regardless everyone who participated helped immensely, and those who didn't. . .ask yourself why. And if its anything her than you're just not interested in being in the DB anymore, I'd like to know at least from those of you willing..to let me know. I don't have much say in how those competitions are run but hopefully it can help me learn how to better gear some clan competitions towards you as well as provide more help to you in the future GJWs if that is what you needed. Annd, everyone watch the DB news page for updates! =)

And, there have been alot of DB changes recently, and I'm sure you're aware of most, but just in case some of the new people in position are:

     DGM Hades

     HM Pyralis

     CHAN Knight Camile

     OHC Khaen

So, hurrah, make new friends. =)

Also, there has been a chain of mail and thoughts concerning the new Tarentum website. . .which I think is a great idea, love the dark blue background idea.. and I deeply respect everyone working on this project because it's way over my head. ;)

But. . .concerning this "question" of whether or not we are going to change Tarentum's symbol/crest or motto. . .the answer is a huge resounding "No." >:P Both of these have probably been with Tarentum since it was a House. I don't want to see anymore bickering about this on the chain of emails that was designed to be something for members to provide constructive help on the website. Now. . .as far as a simpler 'logo' for the website.. I have no problem with designing something that would better suit those purposes, but that does not mean that we scrap our Clan Crest in favour of a modernized logo.

And one last note. . .everyone go cheer on Gladius' phyle, Mystics of the Black Arts face off against Aleema's Spirits of the Night!

Dark Greetings Jedis

This is report #22 dating 06.04.2003 live from Belize and a bit late,

because I just returned from a 2 days trip to Guatemala.

First I want to congratulate Khaen for becomeing the new OHC, if he keeps up

his great work he did as Praetor the Obelisk Order has a bright future.

We surely have also a new DGM meanwhile but my messenger was lazy again

glares at Glor and plays with his lightsaber so I don't know who it is.

Whoever it is congrats :P

But now to the actual report:

Activity:

Judging after the reports and revisions my Rolemaster sent me this week

activity is on the rise again, but unfortunately AFTER the GJW. It seems to

me that some of you slept through the war. Before the war we had high

activity and everybody said in the war we will do even more. Then the war

came and the activity dropped nearly into non existence. Now the war is over

you are waking up again. In my opinion there is something wrong or I missed

the point somehow.

But enough ranting about this GJW, it's over now. We did what we did and it

was far away from perfect, but there is another war in summer so let's move

on, learn from our mistakes in this war and make it better next time. There

is only one thing left to do: the AWOL check and the rewarding of active

members during the GJW, Zetar and me will take care about that and then we

all will turn our attention to new competions.

Competitions:

Now the GJW is over this section will become empty again in my report. But

there will be new competitions for you. Just turn your attention to the AED

report there you will be informed about all new house comps.

Roster:

We are still at 24 members as far as I know. I would like to display a

roster here but still none as sent me a list so far. I'm starting to wonder

if you are actually reading the stuff I'm writing here every week :P

Elevations:

SGT Glorfindel promoted NOV Kethoron Thek to the rank of Acolyte due to his

great GFXs he did since he joined. Congrats! Good Job and well deserved.

Awards:

Finally the long over due DCs for GJW participation were awarded.

Congratulations to Mike, Glor and Reb who all three got one from Talon on

behalf of me for their great work in the GJW. Great performance form all of

you.

But there were not only service awards. As almost every week Cestus

dominated the OHC Cup and brought home several comp awards:

GRD Reb Crush

CF

Cr-A

OBL Michael Halcyon

CF

Cr-A

DJK Sukuth

CFx2

Cr-R

GRD Lorn Blahde

CF

You rule guys :) Keep up the great work making the OHC Cup our private

competition :P

That concludes my report, see you for a next edition next week

Well guys, when I was talking to Domi earlier, it came up that my report didn't go out last week and guesse where I found it? in my draft box:P Any way, here is a report to make up for what I missed.

Ok as most of you know, I'm going away for a week starting Saturday. I will probably have my report out Sunday or monday when I come back, till then you have Vin to take care of things.

It seems we are one of the #1, if not THE #1, Sith houses in the DB:) Both houses are getting 70 points so hopefully we can get fighters alot sooner(that is like all the points we got last year!) Any way, EXCELENT JOB GUYS:) I can't wait to see how Tarentum did over all:) (For info on what industrial points can be used for, See Sith Order Website. Note to CMDRs, please contact me before using points so I don't come back to a hangar full of Z-95s and try to blow Aegis out of the sky;)

I am hoping you all know our new AED is DJK Vin Doros, former HH CMDR, and our new HH CMDR is Pel, former AED. If not, READ REPORTS!

SSL 3 is set to start soon guys so get ready:)

MP League starts soon too so if you can, try and participate. The SHW seems a bit disapointed in the number of participants.

I need 2 of you to help me with the Tactical Database. One to write a text(like Vin's XWA course) for XVT and one fore TIE. Also, if you have any sugestions for the house/Clan website, talk to me or Reb Crush(I'm House Tridens tech crew rep and he is incharge of site)

Now for those of you wanting promotions and stuff, you might be interested in a few recents things, like JH Neko and myself who are about to start trials for our next rank. Also DJK Vin Duros was awarded a Steel Cross for his outstanding work. So if you want a promotion or medal, be active and follow the examples of those that are getting them. Fly comps, be active, comunicate with others... this isn't that hard guys, it isn't imposible to get merit awards.

I hope I'm not forgeting anything... and if I am, I am sure Vin will fill you all in, in his report tomorow:) Have fun and untill next time, "All roads lead to Rome, but you still have to buy a map when you get there;)"

Boy how the time flies  :)

Promotions/Medals

Dark Side Scrolls were given out today.  4 for Rage and 3 for Demerzel.  Great Job guys.  To see what they submitted for the Dark Voice, make sure you go check it out.  More information is on the DB website.

On a side note, I got an award last week after my report was made.  Nothing you've not read in Hades report though.

Competitions

The Mystics have a little battle team competition going on with another team.  All you Mystics, uphold your name and honor!

I'm hoping to soon put information here about the clan competition  :)

Clan/House News

Well the AWOL check is over and unfortunately we had to say goodbye to five of our members.  Hopefully they will decide to become active once again and rejoin our ranks.

Speaking of people joining us, there are none!  Are you doing your best to bring in new members?  If you said no to this answer do something about that.  Call up a friend and get them to join or get in touch with some of the rogue members and get them to come to us.  We really need to rebuild our numbers and the only way is to bring people to us.

I am currently working on figuring out our old website.  With luck, we'll just keep that one and I'll be able to support it well.  I'll let everyone know when I'm willing to start taking graphics for it.  Until then if you have any suggestions on how the site should look, let me know.

More talk is going around about the clan website.  If you want to see something speak up!  If you want to help, speak up!  I don't have ESP and I'm sure no other summit does either.  We rely on the words from your mouth to guide us to do the things you'd like us to do.

I see the messageboard is only bringing in the same people.  I'd like to see more of you people taking part in all that's going on.  Even if it's just a post now and then on the word run on.

I'm starting to plan a house competition so stay tuned for that  :)

Daredevil

2002 Darwin Award Nominee

Confirmed True by Darwin

(29 September 2002, United Kingdom) (29 September 2002, United Kingdom) The Parisian Yamakasi craze, a building-jumping fad inspired by wire stunts in action films, has been likened to a martial art by its practitioners. This urban "art form" was the inspiration for a BBC TV advertisement wherein an office worker travels home by leaping between buildings, over fences, and around antenna.

So it seemed perfectly normal to Marc, 22, to engage in a spot of building jumping during his free time. However, this Darwin Award Nominee failed to take into account the fact that he was not a highly trained gymnast, and could not clear the 20-foot gap between two multi-story car parks in Maidenhead. He also failed to consider the result of a body hitting concrete from a height of 40 feet. His friend said, "We just did stupid stuff when we were bored, like finding gaps to jump." The result was inevitable...
