Welcome to the second -new- Tarentum Report. ;) Well, as far as membership goes. . .we lost several members who either changed their minds, or there was confusion about in the first place. It is sad to see them go, but good that we're starting to get more stable as to who is actually where. The additions to our ranks this week (some of whom I just didn't know were still with us. ;) ) are -- KAP Bastion Creed, GRD Obscurus, NOV Blade Dranal, OW Glorfindel, JH X-Pilot, PRT Andromeda annd the new arrival from just yesterday, Kryndath Del'chanar! Annd also, as I was finishing this report -- welcome back OBM Ziguarath to the Clan! Tarentum is glad to have all of you (still) with us. . .welcomes the new members, and of course welcomes back the illustrious Kryndath and Ziguarath with much cheer. =)
Promotions/Awards/Positions:
Second, though certainly of no lesser importance - there have been a round of promotions and awards recently within our membership that I'd like to congratulate all of these people. Hard work pays off and these people were more than deserving. And note, if your name didn't come up in this round there is ample opportunity in this time of rebuilding to help out and see the fruits of your labour in more than one way. ;) Congratulations to. . .

On the subject of promotions and awards. . .the new summits of House Cestus have been selected this past week and are Obelisk Warrior Glorfindel as Quaestor, and DJK Zekk as Aedile. I'm confident they'll do very well for Cestus. Be sure to lend them your support and encouragement, in any case, though. :) Tridens summits are still pending. . I did open applications to those few left in Tridens, and recieved one. . .I'm pondering how to work this, still, basically. ;)
The envoys have always worked very hard to come back to life in some useful function, and I think they've finally found it. Basically, envoys now will be in charge of sort of mentoring new apprentices that are assigned to them into their individual Houses and Clans. I like this system, and I hope it will stick around for awhile. Tarentum has reccomended GRD Obscurus for Gladius and Knight Class (Clan) Envoy, SBL Pel for Tridens, and DJK Zekk for Cestus. I have faith in all of these members abilities due to their experience, maturity, and general grasp on what it means to be a member of Tarentum. ;)
Alrighty, I think I'm finally through promotions/awards/positions. . .long, but good to see everything falling into place. :) Now onto activities:
Activities:
KE Kaiann has started up the "Brotherhood Indepence Games." I think the idea is rather spiffy, and members will have a wide variety of fun and different events to compete in. Event 0, as it is being called is for leaders (and is mandatory) to create their own event to include in the game. Leaders include, DC, CON, PCON, QUA, AED. I've submitted one event, but I don't see any other Tarentum leaders with their events posted up on the site yet, so if you haven't done that, step to it. =) For this event the deadline is May 3, 2003. Late entries accepted until May 16, but you will lose participation by submitting late.The starting date for all the events to begin is May 4th, so everyone be ready to participate in that, it looks like a lot of fun. :)

Also, for those of you in Gladius, a run has been started up on your board. I've been meaning to participate myself, but can't think of a good idea for what could've stopped the wind from blowing. . .anyway, go have a look there and see if you have any ideas. :)

Okay, well this isn't 'large,' but I think it's funny.. GM Firefox is looking for an avatar to use on the new MBs. So the person to find the one he ultimately decides to use could win a Dark Cross, and if he's really impressed, something better. ;)
The Lord Chamberlain position has been reinstated with the purpose of serving as "a much-needed link between us and other organizations.Telaris "Mav" Cantor has been appointed to this position. Yay Mav. =P
Competition approval, with the DGM site being down, should be done by emailing DGM Jac with specifics of time, who is involved, prize, subject matter, etc. Remember to do that before starting up new competitions.

Yay two more members! Although we did loose Siterath to the EH and Kodiak to retirement, we gained two more members. Everyone welcome DJK Jaya Cypher and KAP Bastion Creed to our halls.
No promotions or medals this week but I have this feeling that perhaps we'll be seeing some next week.
Competitions
The KHP has said something about a KMT for next month. I'm looking forward to that! I'll keep everyone updated on that as it comes out.

I've not had many submissions for this. It's really easy and an easy way to get a medal or two. Plus it's activity and activity gets you promotions :) In other words, submit!
Clan/House News
I'm still looking for someone to take over the Jedi Trials. No one has shown any interest in but I'm hoping that one of our newer members will be at least a bit curious in it. If you'd like to view the website, it's under my dossier and is complete so there's no need to make one or change anything. If you are interested, let me know :)
With our beloved Kodiak gone ;) we'll probably need a new Roll Master. What does a RM do? Um....keeps the roster up to date....yeah. Anyway, the job requires that you send out one email a month to everyone asking them to reply and if they don't then you get to email me and the MAA saying who didn't and needs to be taken off. Sound complicated? Not really. If you are interested in the position, email Hades and me.
I encourage our new member to get in touch with Jason and see if he'd like for you to be in the Mystics. I'm sure he'd love to have the roster full :)
Lots of changes still going on but I think things are starting to settle down. Look for our clan to get into gear and start hammering out something about all that has happened and how it effects our history. Heck, look for something like that for the entire DB. It'll be fun :)

(12 December 1998, Canada) A man crushed beneath a vending machine while trying to shake loose a free soda? If you thought it happened only in Urban Legends you're wrong! Kevin, a 19-year-old Quebec student, killed himself at Bishop's University while shaking a 420-kilogram Coke machine. He had been celebrating the end of final exams with friends. He died beneath the soda machine, asphyxiated, with a blood alcohol level slightly over the legal driving limit.
Kevin's last act was committed in vain. "Even as it fell over, the vending machine did not let out a single can," the coroner reported. Soda-holics take note! The report also states that toppled vending machines have caused at least 35 deaths and 140 injuries in the last twenty years.
For those with enquiring minds, I refer you to a website dedicated to the quest to clear Kevin's name. His family questions the official version on their website, aptly named cokemachineaccidents.com (currently ofline but Archived Here.) They recently sued Coca-Cola, two related companies, and Bishop's University for "gross carelessness." Their website exposé proffers several explanations for why Kevin's death was not his own fault: shaking coke machines "was common practice at the University," and anyway, unknown persons might have crushed Kevin with the vending machine in a bizarre murder, as it "would be difficult for one person to move" the machine.
In response, a spokesperson for Coke said that Canadian machines are now labelled with a warning that "tipping or rocking may cause injury or death." They have also installed anti-theft devices in newer models to keep people from obtaining free drinks.

Greetings my Dark Jedi, this is going to be my first report type thing although due to the latness of the week you lucky people are going to get to reports in one week.
Ok first of all I would like to say I am your new quaestor, its an honour to be in the same position as such Great Dark Jedi as Obelisk battle master Ziguarath and Obelisk warrior Gelton torr, hope fully one day will be saying the same about me.
The way I got this position is not the way I had imagined I would get my evil grip on house Cestus, why just about two weeks ago I was thinking I might not ever get here.
Ok as you all probaly have noticed this split in the DB has left us very short on Dark Jedi. However I dont forsee this being a major problem, although I must stress as my aedile has, the importance of recruiting members. Most of you people werent here when cestus was last this low on members though we had a kind of motto "Quality over Quantity" which was the case as there was very few of us but we where all hard workers and togheter turned Cestus into the house it was before this split. I would like this little motto coming into play again, which means I need you all to pitch in to become the quality members the motto sugests. Now i dont mean give up your jobs, divorce your wives, quit school. Lol beleave it or not i also have a RL which has lots of things to be done in such as, work, school, keeping my girlfreind happy and killing people (you should probaly forget that last bit). What this means is i need you guys and gals (dont think there are any gals but i dont wanna get in trouble) to be more than just names on the house Roster. Do things like plan comps, impress me and zekk and your future sergeants. basically be able to call yourself active and honestly mean it.
By my count we only have six members in the house, thats in cluding my self and zekk and worse yet two of that six i am still not fully sure about. Now your probably thinking
"Oh crap we are doomed" but I will just remind you all that when Ziguarath first became Qua the roster stood at six members total including posible unactives and look at what cestus was before this mess. and i might just add me and zekk helped out alot during that time so i have great faith in myself and zekk that we will make this house great once again.
I know you might say "how can i be active if there is nothing to do?" and I do see your point to a certain extent, but expect some fun stuff to do in the very near future. for now you can post on the MB at http://www.chaoslogic.com/db/message_board
also Zekk has made us a new mailing group which alot of house comunications will be on.
not to mention all the normal DB comps that are still on e.g the OHC cup and sharad has lots of evil stuff planeed for us obbies as well. things are good really:D. Of course not forgetting IRC activity which is very important, though some members seem to think that thats all the DB is about.
Now as zekk stated we have no SGts or a role master. Me and my AED have decided that we are going to choose the sergeants ourselves based on what we know you are capable of. As for RM you can apply to that. If you have any question as to what the job entails please mail me or Zekk and we will sort you out.
No house or clan comps on...yet.
Expect a nice house website ASAP. Other plans are still being planned.
Roster stands at 13 members, but as i said before i only count six officially.
