**_CONSUL REPORT

#1 for Week Ending 02/05/2003_**

Dark Greetings Brethren

of Arcona,

Clan News:

**_New Summit:

_**As you all know by now, myself and KPN Voranyen d'Tana have been placed

as the new sumit of Clan Arcona. We are both from Qel-Droma and have a great

love for this Clan, we look forward to follwoing in the enormous footsteps of

Khobai and Tarkin, also those little imprints that Mav left as he passed on

to Lord Chamberlain position! Cheers guys!

Our first real act as a summit has been finding a replacement for myself in

Qel-Droma. Voranyen and I agreed that tehre was only one choice for QUA, JaM3z

Lucius Entar. He's had quite some week, also being promoted to Archpriest for

all his magnificnet work as Aedile and a loyal Arconan. Tiss then chnaged hr

name, joined the Entars and purely for thsi she made Aedile...ok, not quite

! :P Tiss is an established leader from Alvaak who has been uber active since

her arrival and from what I've seen already - she was definately the right choice.

Activity:

We're still settling after our recent

split fm the EH, but there are lots of activities finally emerging for you,

the members. All competitions are detailed further down in my report and there

should be no excuse for not taking part in soemthing. This isn't for the Clan

or your House, it's for you to earn lots of medals and improve your ID line.

Conduct:

I'd like to draw everyones attention

to the Lord Chamberlain's report down below. You shoudl all read the Brotehrhood

new rules and guidelines for conduct. I don't want any of Arcona getting in

trouble. I'm not going to go on like Mage did, this Clan is Arcona, that's how

it works best, look at the GJW...we rocked. At the same time, respect and care

must be taken when in public IRC channels or mailinmg lists. Have a laugh, th

Emperor knows taht's why we're here - but think before you speak...../me looks

at Blade :P

I want to apologise for this report

being so short and so late. I am stil adjusting to CON and me and Vor have a

lot to sort out amongst ourselves. We'll hopefully have better news for you

next week. Thanks again to everyone for their support. Look forward to the new

_**Dark Brotherhood

News:

_Grand Master Report:**

1) A lot of good projects are being tossed

around. Some of them will probably change the DB rather profoundly as well.

Stay tuned for more info as we will be consulting you about some of them.

2) As many know, we're finishing work on the DB's

judicial system. It will mostly involve trials by jury of members DJK and higher

for the important cases and it will be composed of 3 members. The most important

of which will be the Justicar. For the important cases he will serve as an impartial

judge and will explain to the jury what their duties are. For the simpler cases,

he will determine punishment (example, cheating in a competition and the like).

For such a position, I thought it was crucial to have someone impartial, incorruptible

and someone who will never act against the best interests of the DB. Which is

why I have decided to give the job to Dark Side Adept Keirdagh Cantor, AKA Yacko.

His first job is to look into the recent mail to the Fleet Commander of the

EH that caused so much trouble.

3) Regarding that, as others have said before,

if EHers insult you, just report all incidents to Mav. He will communicate the

information to the EH and they will take care of it. The reverse is also true.

So, stay polite and if someone tries to get you into a fight, just walk away.

You'll be a better person for it and there is nothing that gets to a flamer

like being ignored.

4) I got some very nice avatars and I'm having

trouble deciding which one I'll keep. So, I'll extend the duration of the event

to sunday night. It will give some people the chance to send me some more as

well. :)

5) Expect more news in the coming days and if you've

got a question, mail me or contact me on IRC. I'm not always around, but if

you leave me a message, I'll get back to you.

Report:

****** All That Personal Stuff ****

Well -- I am supposed to be out right now celebrating the 21st birthday of one

of my friends, but I for some reason felt it was necessary to stay in and make

sure my report got out on time. This has been a pretty rough week on me. I pulled

two all-nighters in preparation for three midterms I had (and yes, it's just

middle of the term for me). Did well on all of them, glad to say. Meanwhile

trying to balance the DB with a social life has challenges all of its own. I

repeatedly got yelled at by the girlfriend for ignoring her on the phone (I

was talking to FF on IRC) :P. Oh well. I sent her flowers to apologize. God

I wish I could tell her about the DB....but alas, I like her not being sccared

of me. :) _

**** The EH and YOU ****

As most of you have heard by now, we had an unfortunate incedent involving the

Hammer the other day. One of our members personally insulted Ronin by saying

something that should never be said, and that will not be tolerated.

I wish this was just an isolated instance, however, there have been insults

flying back and forth between both clubs since the split. I, frankly, tire of

it. We are another club now and it's time to move on.

With that said, I encourage you to stay friends with the EH members, but the

ones who are causing uproars, or bringing them up in you need to be left be.

Don't talk on their message board, and if necessary do not stay in their channels.

We are not going to tolerate people furthering the demise of relations.

I realize the argument that what goes around comes around, but even if we have

been called "morons" and "idiots" that does not give us

the right to return the insults. We need to hold the moral high ground.

I hope that this is the last I have to speak of this.

**** New Stuff from the past week ****

Unfortunately for all of you, about 80% of what I worked on the past week will

be anounced only in the near future. There is a tremendous amount of work going

on in the upper tiers of the DB, ideas that are flying around left and right

and the ideas are actually coming to fruition.

The biggest change this week is the addition of Lord Chamberlain to the DC Advisory

council. Telaris "Mav" Cantor will do a fabulous job with this, creating

alliances and being all-around helpful.

Two committees have been formed to work out some things in the DB. The First

is the RPG committee. They will be making the RPG structure for the DB. The

second is the Wargame committee. They will be doing what their name says obviously.

These systems will be combined to work together eventually. If you are interested

in helping out, just email me.

**** Keeping My Praetor ****

Sith Bloodfyre has been invaluable to me so far, and so unfortunately I have

to deny all the people who solicited me for a new job. :) In fact, he has done

so well that I awarded him a GC for his efforts. keep up the work Sith!

**** Websites galore! ****

I am working websites all this weekend. The DGM site is in-progress. The good

news this time is it will be integrated into the database so I can do more with

it. Hopefully we will eventually just merge the competition approval into the

DB site, but until then, I feel that this will work.

At the moment this is for

use by both the EH and the DB, but the plan is to develop one specifically for

**_Obelisk High Commander Report:

_**1. Since people read from top to bottom, and most people probably don't

make it to the bottom of my reports if they even start them at all, I'll put

this as the first item. If you don't read my reports and you don't know about

something, don't blame me. I spend a good amount of time writing these reports,

and I try to make sure I put everything in here that is pertinent to those in

the Obelisk Order. If you don't see something on the DB news page or on the

Obelisk news page, then you can complain. If it's in either of those two places

though; I will have no sympathy. Alright I'm done ranting for the moment.

The latest thing I've been working on is a Jedi

Academy (JK3) website for recruiting and keeping DB members up to date on the

latest developments. Gord Darkonian approached me, and asked me to do this site

for him. He has some members who will keep the site up to date once it is fully

operational. I think this is a great idea, and hopefully we'll be ready for

the game when it is released AND we'll get lots of recruits from it. Keep on

the lookout for the site when it's released (the layout is basically done, so

it will be soon).

With the Independent Games coming up Brigade

League obviously won't be happening soon. This should give me a lot of time

to get all the scripting and everything just right for a good site for when

it does come around however. Don't despair, it'll come around one day. :P

MP competitions seem to have hit one hell of

a low lately. The hosts are reliable for the most part, but no one is reaping

the rewards from the efforts put in to making the competitions happen. I tried

a new competition that I thought would bring forth activity, but no one took

any notice. Therefore, the competitions will go on as normal because I don't

want to deprive those of you who do want to earn your CFs. However, I'll definitely

need to rethink ways of getting you people active.

Possessions are being worked on, so stay tuned

for this. Also, post your ideas and comments on the message board topic in the

Obelisk forum.

The competitions page has a full listing of

all multiplayer competitions scheduled, and if you click on individual competitions

it will give you further details. Just go to the competitions page on the Obelisk

website (posted below).

**_Sith High Warrior Report:

_**1. As you may have guessed I am back (Pred waits for the cheers),(still

waiting) Damm oh well BT fixed the problem anyway. I will be mailing all the

House summits with plans for the Sith order and to make sure they have plans

for all of you today, the rest of you will be getting a mail from me personally

to see how things are going, it¡¦s going to take ages for me to

mail you so please find the time to reply: P

The roster is just about sorted now with most of the gaps that need filling

being filled.

Competition turn out ¡V Ok ditto to what Sharad said, we are putting

these things on for you and we will be putting more things on for you but we

cannot force you to play.

MP League ¡V Ok me and my Praetor have discussed this and we are going

to have a simple version of this going soon, which will function as 24 comp

run through battlestats, the people who place in the end will be rewarded as

will great activity.

SSL ¡V This is on hold for a little while longer but I will have more

news next week.

Mission design, if you are not already aware we need mission designers and

a lot of things will be happening in relation to this VERY soon but if you have

any skills at all please let me know.

Competition Help Centre ¡V I am setting this up so that there are no

excuses for not running competitions, the centre will have all you need to run

a successful competition.

Lots of good idea are flowing into the Sith office this week and you will

all see them soon º

Late, yes, and I apologize. This

week just slipped away from me.

1 - GoA's will not bear the TIE

Corps rank at the top BY REQUEST. If you want to remove your TIE Corps rank

you need to ask. Send requests to my Magistrate, [Mejas

Doto](mailto:[Log in to view e-mail addresses]).

2 - Speaking of Mejas, I'd like

to publicly thank him for all his work in the HRLD office as of late, and congratulate

him for attaining CON of Arcona. Good work!

3 - Custom and other lightsabers

are in dispute. There are a couple issues I want to bring forth, and you can

help.

<li> Should the Alvaak saber be

destroyed? It was Ronin's lightsaber that was the custom standard issue available   

for DJK of Alvaak. If you are confused about what the Alvaak saber is, check   

the Custom Lightsaber Guide (CLSG) on the [HRLD   

Site](http://www.darkjedibrotherhood.org/dbjedi/hrld/index.html). I have thrown up a poll on what should be done.</li>

<li> If it stays, should EACH clan

get their own Custom Saber?</li>

4 - Banners. Here is a synopsis:

I talked with someone online (please

come forward so I can give you credit) about the possibility of Clan Banners,

similar to warbanners used by Vikings, the Japanese, and other warring groups.

The influence was lifted in part from an RPG. These banners would be a GoA of

sorts to represent the clan. I am aware that one clan already has one. This

may replace that.

What I would like to do is establish

a symbol for each clan, or even go so far as each house, and create the entire

series of them at once. If this person would contact me as soon as possible

so we can begin this, I would appreciate it.

5 - My thoughts and position on

the recent seperation has been an issue as of late. Let me set the record straight.

I am for the Dark Brotherhood.

The TIE Corps has nothing to offer me, and I have been on unstable grounds with

the TC for about 4 years now. I hold the rank of Admiral, and apprently I can

only get Command Attaché or other support positions. One such position

I held I was removed "for inactivity" even though my CO never asked

me to do anything. I believe he was just looking for a reason to vacate the

position to elevate a friend.

Not only do I have a loathing hatred

for that particular TC member, but I have not had a love for the TC since. I

think it's crazy that I have a decent rank but am not allowed to take on lesser

positions, like COM. AD as a COM would be about the same as a SBM as PCON.

Anyway, this is PART of my huge

rant that I never got to last week.

_ Lord Chamberlain Report:_

First, on the issue of the Emperor's

Hammer. I'd like to request all members simply ignore the EH IRC channels and

EH Message Boards for the time being. This in no way means ignore your friends

that remain in the EH, but the EH ops have been ordered to ban DB members if

they join an EH channel. To avoid conflicts with the EH, I'm requesting all

members simply avoid the EH as much as possible.

Now, to the report:

-We're currently examining a number of ways to enhance the exposure the DB has.

-I'm working on setting up an office, which will detail the foreign policy of

the Dark Brotherhood, as well as any allied clubs or organizations.

-This week I've been working on foreign policy, club rules, and worked on resolutions

for future alliances. More information on each of these things will be presented

as it becomes available.

Competitions:

_**Arcona Competition:

**A New Home, A New Beginning is a chronicle of Arcona's search for a new

base of operations directly after the separation from the Emperor's Hammer.

The members of Clan Arcona, regardless of Order, will participate in a number

of phases in which they choose the future home of the Clan. The Clan has come

upon a mysterious system, and the Dark Jedi of Clan Arcona have been dispatched

to investigate the new places, and report on what they find...._

**PHASE

1 HAS BEEN EXTENDED UNTIL 11/05/03

So far there have been only 6 participants...**

_Phase 1-Begins 21/05/03...Ends 11/05/03: _

Members of Clan Arcona have been dispatched across the system to investigate

the many planets in this strange place. It is the job of members, in this phase,

to describe the planets they find, including any name they discover belongs

to the planet.A brief description of several lines is required, however, members

can take it further in whatever direction they wish, including media and further

detail.

Members may submit as many planets as they wish

in any format they wish; If a member so chooses they may create an entire star

system of planets. However, there will be multiple winners, and a member can

only win once, though each submission will be awarded based on number of planets

submitted. PLEASE NOTE planets must be original creations of the member submitting

them, though I'd hope that goes without saying ;) All submissions should be

mailed to Consul OWL Telaris "Mav" Cantor([Log in to view e-mail addresses])

no later than 11/05/03.

A few further notes on Phase 1. First of all, images

are more than welcome. However, keep in mind I do not wish to see images stolen

off of any club's planetary system index. However, if you think a NASA image

or something similar suits your planet, go ahead and use it. If an image is

included, give me a little description of what the image is. Also, at this point,

we're not looking for a great deal of fiction regarding exploring the planet.

Fiction about the planet's history is good, but keep it similar to the write

ups you can find at various placed on the net. Check out this one, on Raman

for an idea of the type of thing I'm looking for, though yours need not be as

... Below are a few suggest topics for your writings in the competition:

Suggested Topics- Climate, Terrain, Indigenous life forms, important cities/landmarks,

government type or leanings, any sort of natural resources/raw materials.

Please note, that you don't have to be overly complex

here. One sentence for each of the above topics would be fine, but you could

easily take it further and include everything you can think of for the planet.

More detail IS better, but so is originality. Do what you can and submit it-So

long as theres effort, there will be awards given. ;)

As for awards given... every submission will receive

an Amethyst Star (Cr-A) for participation, while the winners(There will be multiple

winners, probably between four and six) will receive an Emerald Crescent (Cr-E).

Multiple winners are necessary because the best planets will be combined to

form the system that Clan Arcona has discovered. Again,
