Saga Drinking Hall

Zsoldos System

44 ABY

It was early that morning, so early that the watering hole was still warm from the events of the night before. Erick Alehands stood upon the bar, admiring his latest creation above him. His hands were sore from the woodworking but his delight at a new craving muted that pain. It had taken several laborious hours, but now two new additions had been etched into the wooden beam that ran above the bar.

After climbing down and moving to the central hearth of the hall, Erick could properly admire his work. Beside him, long tables that had been stained by the bloodied fists and waving tankards of past nights, stood patiently waiting for the return of their patrons. This hall had once been the drinking hall for ancient warriors who sailed great seas and raided distant shores only to return home with either gold or glorious song of such adventure. The spirit of these warriors, who roared their victories late into the night, could still be heard today on particularly loud, celebratory nights when the Mandalorians and Mercenaries of Vizsla visited. Like they would be tonight.

Erick rolled his shoulders and stretched his hands out in front of his chest, his fingers interlocked to crack all his knuckles in one go. All the while, not taking his eyes off the work. It was important to make sure nothing was missed.

For segments of the beam had been marked out with tales from each of the Ad Vizsla. Each telling of the glory these men and women had brought to the clan in as much detail as their feats merited. Yet, there still remained plenty of space for more future additions.

As the day turned to night, it was an occasion to celebrate. Within the hallowed halls of Clan Vizsla, two legends were about to take their rightful place.

Now the tables of the Saga Drinking Hall were crammed full, practically bursting with the numerous sentients who called the Clan home. Armor adorned many of them, from the full metal of Mandalorian war gear, to the cobbled together leathers of a new hunter. Some had chosen to wear more typical clothing; traveling tunics in muted grey and brown or more elaborate dresses in shimmering silk.

The attire didn’t matter, as they all knew what was the reason for such a gathering. Tonight wasn’t about any of them. It was about another’s ascension.

Specifically, the appointment of Clan members to the experienced elite. As a reward for continued service the Sons and Daughters of Vizsla would gain another member each. But each was supposed to get their own moment, told to arrive an hour apart from one another, yet bets commenced if this would happen as these two lovers were rarely ever seen apart.

When a firm knock sounded from the entrance, the hall hushed to see the result.

The massive doors of the hall swung open and the hall swelled as the crowd saw a single imposing figure. Garbed in scale pattern Beskar of dark black and crimson, the Barabel stood closer to 8 ft tall than his recorded 7 ft 7 measurement. His tail swung lazily as he confidently marched into the room. It was a confidence born of experience and rigor, a confidence rightly earned.

Before him stood the jubilant Lontra Boglach, Consul of Clan Vizsla. Who took a moment to hush the crowd with a wave of his hands. He then pointed out the open doors.

“Did you come alone?” The Consul inquired with a nod back to the doors.

“Are any of us that call Vizsla home, ever truly alone?” Kindle said with a wink. The hybrid then proceeded to wave to someone behind the Consul and all heads turned to a door behind the bar.

Laughter rang through the halls as a hooded figure revealed herself with an impish grin. Moving to join the pair, she paused but for a moment to take the latest addition above the bar. The resemblance between her and the etching in the wooden beam was uncanny and it evidently brought great delight to Kindle and Kora as they shared a glance between each other and with their wooden counterparts.

Remembering the ceremony, the Togruta Nightsister moved through the crowd with a graceful speed that few had ever seen and when she arrived beside the Consul, she too stood as an imposing figure to all.

“Hear me sons and daughters of Vizsla. We stand gathered here today to celebrate the rare moment of two additions to our ranks. Through strength of arms and strength of character, Kindle and Kora have proven worthy to stand among us as Ad Vizsla. May none doubt their contributions to this clan as they continue to speak with ‘credits, not words’!”

An Amendment To The Ad Vizsla Update

Some of you eagle-eyed friends noticed an issue on Saturday’s report. A familiar pair that has been crushing the clan title race were absent from the Top 10 list. This was no error, when I crunched the numbers it was clear that Azler & Kora were no longer chasers but they also weren’t awarded yet. Alas, they had to be remitted from the list until we could get a proper coining ceremony together. Thanks Hector for the second half of the fiction.

However, today we can correct that fact.

Azler (2,128,330) & Kora (2,082,150)

Through your actions you have surpassed two million credits earned on behalf of the Clan, as such you have earned the right to Vizsla's clan title. Thank you for your loyalty and longevity with the Clan, because of this you deserve to be called Ad Vizsla and walk amongst the best of our clan. Congrats on such an achievement.

It is an honor to bestow the Clan title of Ad Vizsla. Congratulations to both of you!

This is the Way.
