The past month has been incredibly busy for many of us. Folks have been busy with work, vacations, and side projects. Yet, many of you still made time for the finale of Parabellum Season One. Additionally, the clan Bounty Board and Black Ledger continue to be a hit with folks. Keep the credits coming, you all are doing great work.

With that said, let’s dive into this report.

It was cold this morning, colder than usual in the cavern system of the Sundor mountains. Malodin’Tater wasn’t sure if it was the coldness that first woke him or the alarm from his chronometer across the room. Either way, the Mandalorian was hesitant to rise from the warmth of his bunk and instead chose to lift the blaster from beneath his pillow before taking aim.

As if it felt threatened, the chronometer came to the end of its alarm cycle and muted itself. Beside the device, the coffeemaker buzzed to life and began grinding beans for its brew.

“Surely, I deserve a break…” The man sighed and dove his head back into the comfort of his pillow. Yet, at that same moment, an alert tone sounded from the commlink integrated within his armour from its place in his locker.

• Scene One (Tater): New QUA surveying repairs from previous Fero attack on Daemunn, confirms The Anvil as a Mandalorian sanctuary
• Scene Two (Azler): Zoron reports to Kindle (Azler) that underground barracks on Daemunn cleared, Warforged personnel can return.
• Scene Three (Kora): Pro Bowl concludes, during departures Kora & Siorc find their target. Turns out to be Alenna Vhett. She offers to trade access to the holocron in exchange for a hit on the Fero warchief Talrin.

New QUA, Who Dis

As previously announced, Malodin’Tater had to step down from Wren Qauestor this past month. I want to once again thank him for his services! Vizsla will see the fruits of his labour shortly with a new event launching later this month. Looking forward to how it is received.

With the open position, a call for applications went out. Unfortunately, we did not get many applications but the good news is that wasn’t required. Taurus stepped up and announced his interest along with his experience in other similar gaming/fan clubs. I’m highly confident he can handle the role and look forward to working together.

Speaking about Houses, there is another development…

House News

Some of you may remember that last fall we ran a membership survey to get impressions on Houses and their identities. After careful consideration following discussions with the membership, it has been decided that all clan competitions, lore, and culture will be maintained at the clan level. The membership has made it clear that they wish to avoid a “siloed” experience and want connected stories. We will be continuing this, don’t worry.

That said, Azler and I can’t do it all by ourselves and Vizsla needs to be developing its own talent & therefore be training the new generation of leaders. Yes, some of this is reviewing members for promotions & awards, which our QUAs are currently doing. Some of this is also creating competitions, which our QUAs are currently doing. However, part of this is also learning how to promote & award members, how to develop fiction campaigns and story events, encouraging participation in competitions & events, and learning how to train junior members. This has not been done with our Quaestors because they’ve been largely run as M:CONs over the last year.

That changes today.

Quaestors are going to be empowered further. In addition to reviewing members for promotions and awards, our Quaestors are also going to be able to make recommendations. In addition to making competitions, Quaestors are also going to provide encouragement and communication on current competitions & activities - this will involve the Quaestors taking turns running the weekly roundup in our clan announcement channel.

Furthermore, Quaestors will also be assigned a fictional role in the clan lore thereby using this role to serve the clan narrative. This is the result of another conversation from the membership surveys, where the idea of a fictional newsletter for the clan was pitched. The Quaestors will be taking on the development of this in place of monthly reports. Our hope is to have this begin by May.

Understand that this does not mean separate, siloed experiences for members of each House. Only the Quaestor is assigned the role, and members of each House are free to engage with whichever/both role(s) as fitting their own character. Frankly, these roles are much the same, it's just the title and setting that is different.

One Quaestor will be the clan’s Rally Master operating from The Anvil, while the other will be the clan’s Bondsman operating from Yuanming.

Aediles

As part of our efforts to continue to grow Vizsla’s next generation and create that dugout full of talent, we will also be considering appointing Aediles to each of the Quaestors. These roles are great to expand the summit to include folks that want to dip their toe into leadership and see behind the curtain.

I want to be clear: these are low effort, low stakes positions.

In my discussions regarding leadership recruitment, it’s been made clear that some folks are anxious about all the responsibilities that come with leadership. Look at any leadership manual and the list of duties and responsibilities are countless. I want to demystify this for folks and my preference will be for individuals who have NO experience.

For our Aediles, I’m looking for folks who can:

• Make 2 competitions a month for the bounty board
• Assist the Quaestor in reviewing their roster for awards & promotions (no recommendations or dealing with the MAA required)
• Assist the Quaestor with completing their Bondsman/Rally Master Newsletter

Those interested should send an email or DM to myself and the QUA they want to work with.

At this point, the position of Battleteam Leader is not used.

Roster Maintenance

In Vizsla, House rosters operate as a purely administrative tool. Upon transfer into the clan, members may select a house to join or otherwise be assigned to based on the lowest population. The exception to this is that new joins will be directed based on the method of entry:

• Direct recruits will be housed with their Sponsor (Master)
• Random joins will be assigned to the house with the lowest population

The house membership roll is to be maintained by a Quaestor who will review their membership for promotions & awards while also providing encouragement and communication on clan competitions & activities. Members are free to engage with activities created/promoted by either Quaestor, as all Vizsla competitions will continue to run at the clan level.

Ad Vizsla Update

I'm delighted to say that a lot of you are getting close to the Clan Title!

As we discussed last month, I've changed our chart to show just the most recent Ad Vizsla and then the top 10 chasing the title. I hope this makes it easier for folks to read it and show just how close you are. You can find the tracker to the left.

This isn't to diminish our honourable ad Vizslas. You can always view all current Ad Vizsla Title Holders here..

As a reminder, the only way to get the title is by earning 2 million credits for the clan.

There is no vote. It’s not a cool kids’ club (even though having the title is cool). It’s not a popularity contest. Earn credits, earn the title. That’s it.

Should you want to know your exact credit amount, you can see this on your dossier's activity assessment tab. Let Raiju know if you need help finding this.

One thing to remember: If you leave for another clan, your clan credits reset to zero! So like...don't do that.

If you think it’s too hard or too out of reach, just take a look at Zoron’s numbers…he’s earned the clan title three times over.

Brotherhood Highlights

Not as much movement this month, whew:

• Covenant Amendment - Letters of Reprimand have been removed and JST/CONs now have access to the site admin notes. For the record, I cast Vizsla’s vote as ‘yes’.
• The HM found a new staff and launched a new course - For those interested check out Git 101
• Speaking of hiring, Turel also announced his new staff

Current Operations

• Vizsla Bounty Board has returned for March! A reminder that we will run this every month to the DB as whole to cash in on the upgraded crescents a larger participation rate offers. This is Vizsla’s best chance to cash in on 1st level crescents if we get the numbers for them. But have no doubts, this is a Vizsla event with a focus on our preferred events. If there are other competition types that you want to see, let us know in the comments or in Clan Chat!
• The Black Ledger has launched! This Vizsla-only series focuses on developing our lore, characters, and making a place on the internet that is solely ‘us’. Check out the variety of competitions being offered from now until March 15th!
• Vizsla Bounty Tracker - Q1 also is continuing. The quarter is quickly coming to an end, will someone be the best Hunter/Inventor/Poet of the quarter? What treasure awaits for them? We will find out soon.
