Changing The Guard

Greetings Tarenti!

As I hope you've read already in Raiju's report, he has had to step down due to some big changes going on in his real life. He's been an incredible Aedile and we all owe him our gratitude. I am very glad that he has decided to stay in Tarentum and look forward to when things settle down and stabilize for him.

Ravaged!

Raiju and I are going to work on wrapping up the competitions for Ravaged that have concluded, but the Run-On is still going on until the 16th so get those last minute posts in this week before it's all done!

As Raiju stated in his report earlier this evening, Ravaged will continue after this. I'll take care of the next round, and chances are our next new Aedile will be in charge of coordinating the rounds after that. If you're thinking about applying for that position it's a great opportunity to be in charge of a high profile, major project.

Awards and Activity!

I want to give a big shout out to Kalmah Sidhe. He came back from Rogues and hit the Shadow Academy hard, doing a bunch of the Dark Pundits and participating in some of the events for Ravaged. In particular though, I want to call out something Kalmah did earlier this month. There was one morning when the next week of the Run-On was slated to start and Raiju and I were both having RL difficulties. I got an email from Raiju asking me to fill in and post the week's update for him, but I was posting from work and didn't have time to also send an email out to the House about it. All on his own, Kalmah took the initiative to send out an email to the House when he noticed the update on the forum. I really appreciated the initiative and positive attitude, and it was a big help to the House as a whole because that notice really did need to get sent out. I awarded a Dark Cross as a token of my appreciation. Thanks again, Kalmah!

I'd also like to mention Anshar, Farrin and Raiju's efforts on the Shadow Academy staff have earned Scrolls of Foundation for each of them. Great work, guys!

Congratulations also to Shujiru Raunien for earning some Clusters of Fire participating in Ernordeth's Monthly Mobile Gaming competition, and Raiju for earning some Clusters of Ice for his work in the ACC.

Aynar d'Tana also earned a crescent for choosing the new slogan for the Jen Kaari: "Protecting from the Shadows".

Hades and Garloaf both earned crescents for winning 3rd and 2nd respectively in the DJB ToR Elite Raiders' Squad Name competition.

Great job, guys! I hope I remembered everything, it has been a busy month!

Positions!

With Raiju's resignation, we now have two open positions in Tarentum. Of course, the Aedile position is now open. We don't necessarily need someone with a ton of experience: we need someone who can write, who has tremendous drive and is reliable and consistent. The rest I can teach as needed.

In addition to an Aedile, I think it's time that we had a Rollmaster in Tarentum. We need someone who can head up our Master/Student Program, greet new members and keep tabs on Journeyman progress. Just like BTLs in Tarentum, the RM would be a full member of the House Summit and participate in all major discussions and decisions. Again, I'm looking for someone reliable, consistent, and with the time and energy to keep our House's revival on track.

For both of these positions, please send applications to me. They're open to anybody, regardless of rank or unit. Both positions are, of course, subject to Muz and Raken's approval in addition to mine. I'm looking to fill both spots within the next two weeks if possible. Feel free to ask any questions or discuss the positions with me if you're not sure.

Conclusion!

Well, that about sums it up for this month. Activity is still slow but it's definitely picking up and the interest is definitely there. We just need to keep the pace up, keep the events running, and keep pushing everyone to participate. Rest assured, if you take part in competitions, awards and promotions will soon come your way. The single biggest thing you can do to help Tarentum today is to get out there and play, both in Tarentum competitions and in DB-wide competitions. That's what this thing is all about, guys. Go have fun!
