Clan Odan-Urr Rollmaster Open for Applications

After a solid 8 months of working with the Clan summit taking care of all our members both old and new, Corvus Corax aka Seridan has decided to step down and take a breather. His record of service to the Clan both as Rollmaster and the founding BTL of Zireal has been nothing short of impressive. Take a moment to give him a pat on the back for all he's done for us!

So, we have some rather large shoes to fill in the Rollmaster's office. I want to be clear that while integrating new members will be a core responsibility of the RM it is far from the only responsibility. This is a Clan summit position and the successful candidate will be given broad leeway to get involved in all aspects of lore and unit development. I'm also a big proponent of career progression so the person picked for this will be developed for continued service as a QUA, PCON or even future CON (I do need to retire someday). So if you're interesed in a position with a great community and future growth potential drop an application!

Requirements

  • Applications are open DB-wide and are due to me ([Log in to view e-mail addresses]), and Mar Sul ([Log in to view e-mail addresses]) no later than 8PM EST on 12 February.

  • Applications should address: DB experience (projects, positions, etc), any relevant real life skills (don't give me a full resume), leadership philosophy, your assessment of the current state of COU and ideas for the future of COU and its lore. Specifically address both recruitment of new members and retention of current members.

  • There is no minimum rank or DB experience requirement.

  • Be prepared to answer follow-on questions via email.

Tips

  • This is a Clan Summit position, put some thought and effort into this. Have multiple people proof and comment on it. Sloppy or incoherent applications reflect poorly on the applicant.

  • Know the difference between a goal and a plan. "I want to increase fiction activity" is a goal. "I will host bi-weekly fiction workshops to develop our writers" is a plan. Too often I see applications full of lofty goals with almost nothing in concrete plans on how to achieve those goals.

  • Do your homework! Show the hiring officials you understand the strengths and weaknesses of the unit. You don't have to use the SWOT format (I'm not big on 30/60/90 either).

  • Be professional! I'm big on humor in my fiction writing but you are applying to be a key leader, not Deadpool. A little humor goes a long way but keep the tone professional.

  • Be honest! If you have rough spots in your history or community reputation, you should probably address those. I do look into how an applicant is viewed in their respective community.

Good Luck to all the Applicants!

If I could clone myself (legally, hi Jac) and do it, I would! Go apply! Turel and CPU are great to work with.

Well, that rules Drac out. However, I hope everyone else will consist applying. COU's summit I'd an awesome group to work with!

You cut me Turel. You cut me reeaal deep just now.

I learned the better part of my skillset in the DJB while I was Rollmaster. I highly suggest you take the opportunity! Also, Sang keeps telling me that COU is good people!

Apply for the things guys! OU Summit is good people :D.
