Life Day Celebration 2023

Life Day celebrates values of family and joy, values which are central to George Lucas, the creator of Star Wars: Lucas defines joy as compassion — the selfless form of happiness and the light side of the Force.

Hello everyone, and happy Life Day. For all our eastern members who have already started their day, I hope yours is off to a great start. For us westerners, I hope you all have a great day. Life Day is one of the few known Star Wars holidays. As someone with a full family of a wife and two kids (who I am unfortunately not going to see until next week), this Star Wars holiday has a special place in my heart, and I hope the day resonates with the rest of you.

Last year, the Regent Staff started celebrating the holiday with the first Life Day Celebration series, a group of somewhat short and easy competitions designed to get you in the groove, give you credits (and now XP!), alongside sweet goodies. We also stopped opening the Celebration Store during Christmas time as a result, because the entire purpose of celebrating Star Wars should revolve around various Star Wars holidays; May the 4th, and now Life Day. Our three winners of the 50+ participants last year each received a unique possessions award; the Experimental Bowcaster, Scoundrel’s Bandolier, and Ceremonial Ryyk Blade.

This year, we’re back at it again with the sequel competition series to celebrate Life Day, Life Day Celebration II. Just like last year, these comps are designed to be easy, quick, and hopefully fun for you to complete. It runs from today (technically 8pm EST on the 16th) until December 10th, with two phases (simply to split the competition up into two halves). The only competition running throughout both halves is the fiction competition.

The top three winners will each receive a unique possessions award, with the theme of this year’s items being the Jedi Order and Light Side of the Force. The theme will continue to change year-over-year as we seek to appeal to different members in the club. I hope everyone enjoys the series.

Celebration Store

Although not a guarantee (May 4th is the only date) every year, we are once again opening the Celebration Store for members to buy all their “special edition” goodies. We have a couple new additions this year. Unlike May 4th, the store will be remaining open for the entirety of the series, and a few days after the results are released so everyone can spend the credits they earn from the series, and possibly buy the winning entries from the Celebration Store Item competition series.
