Pro Bowl IX: Reliquary - Gaming Update

Welcome to Week One, folks!

I'm glad to see the teams tearing into the competition. There's been a lot of excitement, games play, and questions brought up in the first couple days. I'm delighted to see the drive. As always, if there are concerns please reach out to the Consuls/Event Organizers as we are happy to provide clarification.

As mentioned, there has been questions brought up regarding the cluster race this week and the requirement to use the party creation tool in the matchmaking channel. This requirement has been used in the past and was replicated in the setup for this year; however, in discussion with the Fist, we determined that it is no longer reflective of our current gaming environment nor the spirit of the Pro Bowl.

Rule Changes

So the rule section of each weekly cluster race has been updated to reflect the following:

  • A reminder of current FIST policies on submissions can be found here
  • It is encouraged to make use of the party create tool on Discord for gaming sessions submitted to this competition. It's also recommended that Discord parties be at least large enough to match the mode being played. For example, if you are playing a 4v4 mode in Halo then your Discord party should have at least 4 slots so members who want to join have a chance to join. For 1v1 games such as Hearthstone or JA duels the party should be at least 3 slots so members who want to join can get a 1v1 session. If you have questions or technical issues regarding the use of the party create tool please contact the Fist.
  • Single team submissions are allowed (e.g. all the members on the submission are from the same Pro Bowl Team)

However, it is important to note that each week the cluster race has a different platform/gaming focus so please ensure to review each competition page at the beginning of Week Two and Week Three.

In Conclusion

Simply put, party creation on Discord is encouraged but not mandatory. Please also be up to date on the Fist's submission requirements so everything can get counted/processed in a timely manner. More importantly, go have fun.

Good.
