October Mid-Month Gaming Update and Applications Open!
Your friendly, neighborhood Praetor to the Fist brings you this update containing information regarding gaming in general. I’ll be bringing you updates around the middle of each month and I’ll update you on anything remotely concerning gaming that I think is worthwhile, whether it’s club supported or not.
FIST Staff Openings
Applications are being opened for to become a Magistrate to the Fist. We will be accepting applications for 2 Magistrates. We appreciate Furios' work as our ToR magistrate and Egregious' time as an overall Magistrate. The 2 positions will focus broadly in the overall gaming of the DB. Please send your applications to both [Log in to view e-mail addresses] and [Log in to view e-mail addresses] for our review. Here are some expectations of the position so you aren’t coming in blind.
This position will be responsible for helping to approve gaming submissions daily. They will contribute to FIST Staff projects such as CF/CE Table Balancing, ROC edits, Wiki edits, and alternating general gaming and mobile gaming competitions each month. This position is broadly focused on gaming.
These are unique positions open for all of the rank Neophyte/Runner/Private and above to apply! Applications should explain your previous experience in the DB or real life that qualify you for the position. Please provide an assessment of gaming in the DB and provide any ideas you have. Don't be intimidated and we look forward to working with you!
Star Wars Battlefront
In case you’ve been living under a rock Star Wars Battlefront is coming out. The Beta has been ongoing and ends on October 13th. As of this moment we’ve received 62 submissions for Battlefront with 18 unique participants for the Battlefront Beta competition. Val posted what the Beta PC requirements were. The game will be supported on all platforms. Also, R.I.P. Luke Skywalker
Playstation 4
Any time a specific platform gets mentioned a debate starts. Xbox or Playstation which is better? I’ll gladly provide an opinion if you’d like since I own both, but I’m not a fanboy of a particular company. Consoles are like athletic shoes. Some people like Nike and others like Adidas (Go Nike), but they both do the same thing. For those of you who haven’t moved on to next gen and are thinking about making a purchase the Playstation 4 has received a permanent price reduction of $50. It is now $349. Maybe you might want to pick up the Star Wars Limited Edition PS4. Thank you for your patience you silly PC Master Race types.
Star Wars Aftermath
“What the hell is this? I came to this update looking for gaming news not stuff about books!” Sorry guys, but I came across this news while writing this and decided to share it. I’ve heard some things about Star Wars Aftermath that say the book wasn’t that great. For those of you dedicated fans there are two more books coming. Aftermath: Life Debt will come out in 2016 and Aftermath: Empire’s End will come out in 2017 to finish the Aftermath trilogy.
October Gaming Releases
Here are some releases coming out in October. For those of you in the UK I found some deals for you. Too bad I don’t live in the UK or I might get some of those.

Far Cry Primal
Far Cry Primal was announced recently and has created a fairly large buzz already. Admittedly, I haven’t played any of the other Far Cry titles, but this one looks interesting. It will be released in February 2016 on PS4 and Xbox One and in March 2016 on PC. Far Cry Primal will take the game back to the Stone Age basic survival. Will you pick this title up?

Halo is currently still supported. We will probably look at revising it upon release
Far Cry Primal looks awesome, Battlefront is the bomb and boo to living in Australia where I have to wait a week and a half longer than everyone else to get my copy of Roack Band 4.
