A Daughter of Sadow Rises

ISD II Perdition

Somewhere Along the Daragon Trail Star Route…

Ashia Kagan Keibatsu looked thoughtfully out the viewport as the stars raced by in long multicolored streaks. This last venture had seen the Clan perform better than they had in a long time. Clan Naga Sadow had always been powerful but the motivations of the Clan members often varied and could be at odds. To bring them together and forge them into a hammer-fist that smote their enemies into the dust was a masterful stroke on the part of the collective Summit.

She smiled to herself, thinking of the successes they had seen on the battlefield. The time was indeed ripe, the clan was hungry, ready for whatever came next. She stifled a smile, knowing full well what that meant. The door chimed with a military entry request code and Ashia turned away from the hypnotizing view of hyperspace. “Enter.”

“Proconsul.” The young Lieutenant looked decidedly anxious. “M’am, I was sent by Adept Macron Sadow to find you and request your presence. I am to deliver you to the observation deck.”

“Request… I see.” She stood up. The Adept had often fought together with her by her husband’s side but there had been varying degrees of friction in the past. “Tell him I will be there as soon as I have time.”

“Ma’am, he said to bring you right now. Or there would be consequences.” He ran a finger inside his collar nervously. “I’ve heard about those consequences.”

“Did he?” Her face tightened. “That’s some audacity.” She looked at his face as it fell, fear washing across it. “Don’t panic, I’ll go see him.”

Observation Chamber

ISD II Perdition

“We are all assembled,” spoke one of the heavily robed and cowled figures. Around them could be seen tapestries crawling with images of Sith script and Lord Naga Sadow’s commanding visage. One tapestry in particular was new and seemed to be based on the acid greens and searing reds of Nightsister imagery and Krath purple. “With the Consul’s victory speech the opportunity is perfect. All of us are here simultaneously and she will suspect nothing.”

Ashen’s eyebrow rose as he regarded the statement, black eyes drifting over to Locke and Sanguinius.

“Is it terribly wise to surprise a nightsister?” Sanguinius cleared his throat, his hand reaching up to stroke his chin.

Macron chuckled, looking to Muz and back again. “Probably not, but in this case, exceptions can be made, I think.”

The outer doors hissed, the sound of her footfalls reaching their ears as she keyed the entrance codes into the chamber. They turned toward the entrance as the door slid open, a hush filling the air as much as the ancient incense did.

Ashia stepped forward, the hard clack of her bootheel silenced by thick carpeting. Her eyes widened for a moment, her gaze sliding across those gathered as her center of gravity dropped out of rote. Macron stepped forward, the depth of his hood casting eerie shadows to play with the tattooed lines on his face.

“Ashia Kagan Keibatsu,” He spoke through sharpened teeth, “You have been brought before the assembled heirs of Sadow and your works have been judged.”

Bentre stepped forward, his robes hanging at awkward angles due to his recent injuries. “By word and deed, may Ashia be recognized as she upholds the traditions of Sadow.”

“By blood and toil,” Malisane stepped forward, coming to a stop next to the Consul, “May Ashia continue to bring honor and conquest, so that we may honor the legacy of our forebears.”

“By the chains broken by the dark side, may Ashia Kagan Keibatsu be named.” Locke stepped alongside the others.

Ashen moved to join them, nodding as he restrained a smile at his wife. “So it is sealed.”

“Aye,'' the word came from all of them in the same instant, resonating throughout the chamber, echoing through their bones, their hearts.

So it is done.

I am very happy to see this happen. Though we have not always seen eye to eye that is a good thing. Different perspectives make for a broader view. Your contributions to this Clan over a very long time are huge and critical. Congratulations, and welcome back!
