Report #1: We continue forward

ATTENTION: NIGHTHAWK CREW

Hello everyone. This is my first report as Captain of the Nighthawk. I just recently did an introduction as the BTS in the last report, so I won’t repeat myself here. What I will talk about are my current feelings on where we stand as a Battleteam and where we will be going in the near future.

I personally am very happy with activity within the Battleteam, we have several members who have recently run competitions, are planning to run them, have contributed to our Wiki revamp and have taken part in either the MB Run-On event or the fiction prompts currently going on. For a team of eight members to have this much activity directly after a GJW is something I’m extremely proud to see.

Where do we go from here? We continue to expand on our own fictional background within the Wikipedia. We rebuild our numbers after seeing one transfer and three… yes three promotions to summit! (Congratulations again to Arcia and Mako on their promotions to Galeres Summit and to Lexic on his promotion and transfer to CNS.). Nighthawk builds leaders, something I intend to see continue into the future.

On that note: I’d like to introduce our new Battleteam Sergeant. After some consideration for the position I decided to place the mantle of second in command on one of our Journeymen. While I feel that really any and all of our current crew are capable of running this Battleteam (Most of you have far more experience than would be necessary to do so). I feel like the most benefit would go to a Journeymen member in helping them develop the skills necessary to reach the Equite ranks. As well as become prepared for future leadership themselves.

So on that note: Rulvak Qurroc has been chosen as the teams Battleteam Sergeant. I look forward to helping him make his way into the future ranks, getting to see him work alongside many of our members who can impart their experience on him, to help him grow and stand shoulder to shoulder with the greats of Arcona.

END ATTENTION.

When it comes to participation and activity within the Battleteam as always with the club it is a voluntary opportunity. I believe in providing the chance for members to take part in events, running competitions, providing work to be done, etc allows for members to take part in what they enjoy and what they want to be a part of. March is to be a month of focus on the Battleteams and the individual Houses to see updating done, small fun competitions run to take part in and generally just have some fun.

Wikipedia Work to be done: We have work to finish on the Nighthawk Wikipedia as well as two new projects in the House Galeres Wikipedia and the S.C.E.P.T.E.R Wikipedia.

So I would like to propose a split of the team to work on both projects, if you have a preference for one team or the other contact Rulvak and myself and let us know. Again participation is voluntary. I will say that reward and recognition are available since both of these projects are high profile and a lot of fun to be given the chance to help establish the history of our Battleteam and House!

One of the points I made during my application and discussions of taking over Nighthawk would be a dedication to keeping competitions available for our members. To this point either Myself or Rulvak will be hosting a competition weekly (revolving between the two of us) to ensure we always have something going on for you to participate in.

Fiction Competitions, Graphics, MM, etc are all good practice to keep our skills sharp going forward. It’s also an incredible opportunity for us to help one another have some fun.

Simple as that, keep doing what you’re doing, Find what you enjoy and hammer home on it. If you enjoy the ACC keep sending challenges out, if you enjoy writing fiction participate in a few comps or host one of your own, if gaming is your thing hit up the Monthly Mobile game. The name of the game is activity and having fun that is what we’re here to do.

With the opportunities right now for work on the various Wikipedias don’t pass up the opportunity to be a part of creating the legend that is Galeres. This House has provided some of the strongest leaders in the Brotherhood, some of the most competitive Battleteams and frankly some of the highest activity in Vendettas. Be a part of showing that to new members joining and wondering just what we are all about. This also has the added benefit of not only taking pride in your house’s background, but the opportunity for new awards, recognition and potentially even that promotion you’ve been waiting for.

Finally I just want to take a moment to once again thank Arcia and Mako for everything they have done for Nighthawk and really all of Arcona. Tremendous competitors, excellent mentors and much more These guys represent Galeres and Arcona at it’s best follow their example and lets show that Nighthawk is still as strong as it always has been.
