C-D4WG has died, long live C-SIR:

A few months ago, we rolled out the first of a series of betas, the initial from the Emissary staff ahead of the new website updates. Yesterday, we launched the Possessions Beta, retooling and making systems around our often onerous possessions system much easier to navigate through drag-and-drop functionality.

Today?

Today marks the end of C-D4WG and the rise of C-SIR. You can buy the Character Sheet Reference Beta Ticket in The Vault and see the updated tool here afterward, a handy link to the Character Sheet Reference Tool is also available in your Resources Dropdown and can be found in Reference Pages module (if enabled) on your homepage.

There are many notable changes in the current iteration of the tool, from a complete Mobile-friendly build, to Character Sheet awareness (you can choose one of your character sheets at the top of the tool and see if they are eligible to use any ability/feat/power/etc.), options you've previously looked over will show at the top, beneath the search bar, as well as a full graphics overhaul. When reviewing Skills, Force Powers, and Feats, you will be able to see their related skills, as well as what they Unlock within the system. There are also a variety of discriminators that actively populate as you move through the different menus, so you can sort based on various criteria.

Why, you ask yourselves?

C-D4WG was a good tool, however the UI was a miss. It was not mobile friendly, you could not view species images on the tool, and you had often had to launch multiple pages to easily reference multiple details. Under the new system, you can directly check things against your various characters, swap back and forth between recently searched topics, swipe between topics? Oh, did I forget to mention that above, you can SWIPE between articles on mobile! Our Seneschal staff, specifically Orv on this project, have really outdone themselves with this one.

Part of my ethos as Voice of the Brotherhood is to deliver a better member experience for all of you. This is one of the projects I've wanted to tackle since I first took office, and I'm glad to see the Beta launch so soon after the first minor update we took a few weeks ago. If you find any problems or have any questions, do not hesitate to reach out to our staff or to send an email to the Voice mailer, which you'll find at the end of this report.

Growing Pains

There are going to be some routine growing pains and updates. We've already identified and begun rolling out some minor changes, such as identifying and highlighting extant species still available in the database kept for records, grandfathering, or because they're loadbearing, that we no longer support for character building and marking them as locked (not yet live). Fixing an error where inactive Disciplines, Feats, Skills, and Force Powers were present within the selectors. And more. We'll make routine updates about changes to this system before fully removing the old C-D4WG system in favor of C-SIR, but, the future is now available for everyone to test out.

As I mentioned above, if you find any errors, please report them to us and we'll see to them as soon as we can.
