The Consul was half asleep as some of his servants were busy watering him when another servant rushed into the room with a datapad in his hand. The Neti noticed the sign of the Shadow Hand on the datapad and read it. “He wants what? Fictional updates in reports? Doesn’t he know that those things are terrible and have no place in reports?”
The final few hours of Fading Lights round 3 are upon us. You have until 6:59pm EST to get your event submissions in. So once again this will be a Fading Lights centered report.
As I just said, 6:59pm EST so you still have time to do all five events if you haven’t already!
Some might wonder why they should bother participating if they don’t think they can win. But there are plenty of reasons! First of all it gives me an excuse to hand out medals, it helps the journeymen among you towards their next promotion and last but not least it gives us fleet points. Fleet points for those who don’t know are what we use to buy new ships, fighters and soldiers and if I remember correctly we earn fleet points at 400xparticipation ratio, meaning if everyone does one event we will have a participation ratio of 1.0 which would earn us 400 points, if all were to do all five events we would have a ratio of 5.0 and earn 2000 points.
Besides that there are also ships up for grabs to the top four units! The top three have to divide a Nebula Star Destroyer, a Republic Star Destroyer and an Imperial Star Destroyer II between them while number four gets a Victory Star Destroy II, all free of charge!
Basically it turns out one of the members of the Dark Council is a traitor (you decide which one) and you are tasked with finding out who, capture one of his or her Praetors or Magistrates to learn the truth.
There’s not a whole lot I can say about it without revealing too much I guess, other than the fact that all the answers can be found in various places on the Dark Brotherhood website. Remember, you don’t have to answer all questions correct to earn participation, there were more than a few of them where I ended up just guessing.
Basically you have to design the interior of the hexagonal fortress found on Nicht Ka, it has all sorts of puzzles, mazes and traps.
Can be a bit tricky but with some creativity it doesn’t take too long.
For the gaming event all tier 1 games are valid, remember that the Rites of Combat apply and that there are a few additional rules during vendettas. You have to be on IRC and in the channel #dbgaming when issuing or accepting gaming challenges, otherwise they won’t count. During vendettas the additional rules mainly evolve around platforms and idling, mainly that if you have played a game once during a vendetta then you cannot turn down challenges for that game for the rest of the vendetta, and it is not allowed to idle in #dbgaming during a vendetta, you can only be in there as long as you are actively looking for gaming activities.
A popular choice for the gaming event is the game called pazaak, it’s free and can be found at www.pazaak.org, we even have an easy Shadow Academy course for it in the journeyman hall.
The summit are currently working on what we’re going to do in November and December, we’ve also begun discussing plans for what we should do after the Great Jedi War, which is scheduled to be in January. More info will follow soon.
Well, given the weird way our Master at Arms have chosen to interpret the perfectly clear rules we’re still on probation for another 11 days until the 13th. However we are currently at 43 members and only have one person in danger of going AWOL at the moment so in reality probation means nothing right now.
It does however mean that you should always remember to be logged in on the DB site when you visit since that is how the site checks if you’re alive or not. And as always, if you have friends who are interested in Star Wars remember to send them our way.
