Ruins Beneath The Jedi Temple

Supreme Chancellor Narman Losa Taldrya, accompanied by Vice-Chancellor Maeva, moved through the ruins at a steady pace, flanked on either side and behind by their respective Summit Guards and led by a pair of Jedi. A heavy cloud of dust hung in the air of the cramped passageway, illuminated by the fluorescent torchlight; it was so thick it was nearly impairing their visibility. Occasionally they had to duck their heads to avoid large, gnarled roots that had broken through the stone ceiling. Along the floor to the left of them was a long continuous tube that was circulating air to the surface; its rhythmic hum was a welcome break from the otherwise eerie silence. Once or twice along the way a researcher would pass them on the way out, forcing them to hug the wall.

Narman had not spent much time underground in his career, and never in an environment like this. Still, his training had been for all situations, so while it was uncomfortable it was not unbearable. If the Guards or the Jedi were struggling, they showed no signs of it. Similarly, Maeva seemed to be handling it well, though he found himself checking often to make sure.

“We’ve yet to penetrate this blast door.” One of the Jedi explained, the first to speak in nearly 10 minutes. “Initial, less violent methods have been unsuccessful. With the structural integrity of the ruins still in question, this area will have to wait.” They paused for a moment in front of it. The door was heavily caked in dirt and roots that had criss-crossed in front of it were cut and hanging along either side. There were several scorch marks near the base and lying on the floor in a heap was a disabled sentry droid. They had passed a few on the way down and he expected more as they ventured deeper.

Great Jedi War XVII: Animus is now upon us! The combined forces of the Taldryan Republic will be joining with the other Clans to try and take down the Collective once and for all, this time on their turf. Read the prologue fiction here.

The War will begin at site rollover on May 23rd and run through June 27th. It will be divided into two phases with a one week break in the middle, with some event-long competitions as well. Remember this event is in the ‘bins’ format. Participation in all competitions is not necessary for full points, as long as you get one in each bin!
