Hello everybody!

I’d like to thank you all for the support over the last few weeks and today. The community came together and even in a situation as it was, it never felt like I needed to truly worry about anything crumbling under my fingers.

I’m proud to be the Consul of Arcona and will be doing my damnedest to do all you proud in turn. For those who are curious, my application for Consul is here. This covers my plans and ideas for the clan over the next few years.

To briefly go over the important parts, my focusses in Arcona are inter-clan events, moving forward fictionally as ever and building up a solid succession plan. I want to bolster our community and set us up as long term as I can while also retaining some sanity and not sitting still in the seat too long. Don’t worry, you’ll be sick of me before I say goodbye and thanks for all the fish.

A larger report will undoubtedly follow once we have all the ducks in order but for today I wanted to get something important rolling.

Proconsul Applications are open!

Anyone who applied for Consul is free to simply send me their application for CON if you are interested in being PCON.

So, what am I looking for in a Proconsul?

Priorities

First and foremost, assistance in Consul activities. This means being able to step up should I become absent for some reason. It also means help in managing our two houses and the Selen Training Corp battleteam, in running clan events, competitions and being present for the monitoring of channels and any mediation that may be needed. As I myself am fairly new to upper leadership, I’m not expecting someone who knows everything and anything all of the time, but a open mind to learning as we go will be key.

I would also like to hire someone who has interest in becoming Consul when the time comes I step down. Currently we have no succession plan, so being a part of that or being able to ensure that there is one crafted is of high importance.

I don’t have any flat numbers for activity, but setting an example by your own actions is important. If we ourselves are not active, then why should our membership be? This isn’t just in competitions, but in our channels. Whether it’s voice, text, roleplays or casual chatter, in competitions or in emails, be an example of the activity you want to see.

A 24 hour turnaround on communications. This includes emails and Discord DMs. No one can expect you to be online constantly, but there is a minimum standard for being accessible to the membership.

The Cherry on Top

None of these are requirements, but they fill in some of my weaknesses and if you can do them too on top of the general requirements, hi.

I have one concern with my abilities and that is fiction writing. I’m great at ideas and already have some for the events and routes I want to take Arcona in, but writing them down is something I struggle to do on command in terms of actual fictions. Someone who can help coalesce these ideas in functional plotlines and stories would be of great help.

The Wiki. Oh, the wiki. Do I even need to explain? This is a club wide issue but we should probably do some dusting on our own stuff. I am not good at this. I have not updated my own character’s wiki in probably close to two years. I would rather grade a Vendetta sized year long puzzle competition series than try and wrestle the wiki. And I fully emphasise that you might not want to do it either but if you can, that’s a very shiny cherry.

This isn’t the last opening we will see, once a PCON is sorted I will be opening applications for the Selen Training Corp BTL but until then they’re in safe hands with Zujenia, which thank you again Zuj for being here and amazing <3.

Dajorran Marshalls BTL is still open until tomorrow so if you want to get into our summit leadership, it’s an awesome opportunity with a lot of growth to be had.

I don’t think I’m missing anything else important, so!
