Dreaming of thirst he'll never slake - HMR QUA Report

A brief report, wherein Muz rants about the importance of participation, puts links up to the New Ties CNS/TAR cooperative event, talks about the immediate future after New Ties, and humblebrags about having 100% participation himself for week one. Because, you know, participation is important.

It's nearing the end of the month, and that means it is time for another awesome HMR QUA report. Unfortunately, you're all going to have to deal with a report from me instead. So sorry.

First things first: Get to the New Ties event. You can see the stuff here: https://www.darkjedibrotherhood.com/competitions/12122

Importantly, this is not a feud. It is a cooperative event with everyone's favorite kooky and spooky clan, Tarentum. That means that the DC isn't all over us because of ships being lost or gained, that sort of thing. So it's a pretty low-pressure sort of deal, which is great. That said, it is a good way to warm up for the coming Great Jedi War, so I encourage everyone to get out there and DO ALL THE THINGS. Personally, I had 100% of the first week events done, and am working like mad on the stuff for week two. If I can do it, that means you can do it, as just about every one of you stands to gain more than I do. (What with me not being able to be promoted. Ever.)

There are a lot of events, but many of them can be knocked out pretty quickly. It's also a good way to pad your credit account, given that you get a nice little pile of credits just for participating. That and it makes CNS look better to the DC and such, so there's that little bonus to throw at it. But seriously, I can not overstate how important participation is. Even if you think you suck, just get out there and do it. Please. :)

"So what is going to be happening after New Ties?"

Good question. While Sang has his focus distracted (quick, I need a team to steal the keys to Trev's old Cellars out of the safe in his office), he will be taking a look at our fictional direction as we go toward the War. We may have time for a few competitions and to push the development of Ragnos space a little further, but I intend on giving us a little bit of a break with light-hearted stuff.

"Light hearted stuff?"

See, not all fictions have to be stone sober and serious piles of angst and rage. A huge chunk of Naga Sadow's History borders on the ridiculous, to be honest. We just tailor it just enough that it has a sheen of realism on it. From the calls of 'Never Sober' and the bottles of Sadow to the Sith Lord of Ellijay and Fred the Seal, there are varying degrees of humor woven into the fabric of our history.

"Why did you just headbutt the desk?"

Because I was starting to sound like Trev. And that just won't do.

That said, there is definitely a place for levity and humor in the Clan. And as a matter of fact, some of us who have a hard time writing the super serious entries may find that they have a particular knack or gift for humor or mystery or any of the myriad other genres that exist in the world, all of which can find a niche here in the Clan.

I'll apologize for the short report, but the lack of fiction is due to my DOING ALL THE THINGS in New Ties, where I suggest you do the same. Seriously. It's easy, fun, and beneficial for yourself (experience, medals, credits) and the clan. If you need a poke in the right direction or are having a spot of trouble thinking up a story seed or whatever, please let Raikou or I know and we will get you sorted in a hurry.

Did I mention that there was an event on? ;P

Have fun!
