Welcome everyone to the very first Ektrosis House Report since Taldryan was Clanned once more! It’s been a long time coming, but it’s great to once more see Taldryan have Houses again. It had to be a group effort to get to this point, so once again thank you to everyone in Taldryan for their hard work and dedication. A lot has happened since the House was created, so let’s get to it!

Meet the House

I believe we’ve all said hi to each other, but I would just like to introduce you to your House Summit once more. At Quaestor you have myself Halcyon Taldrya. At Aedile there is Quejo. We currently have two Battle Teams in the House. One of them is half of the previous Old Folks’ Home. In Ektrosis we have The Home, ably lead by Chaosrain Taldrya. Last, but certainly not least, is Wardens, which shall be our premier Battle Team and where we hope are newer members and those looking to get ahead will take advantage of the extra activity opportunities. For this team we have Shaz’air Taldrya taking the lead.

There is currently the job of Wardens XO up for grab. Applications are open until February 28th. If you’re interested in being a future leader anywhere in the Clan then this is a great opportunity to learn a little about how leading is done in the club. Send your applications to myself, Quejo and Sid (the nickname Shaz’air goes by). We will have an announcement soon after.

Also, I had previously sent out an e-mail asking for comments from the House. So, if you haven’t yet, please take a minute and complete the Ektrosis Survey.

Crusade 2.0 - Crusade Harder

The Dark Crusades are back! (and I’m trying not to curl up into a ball until it’s over :P) Many of you should be very familiar with the Dark Crusade, the year-long Vendetta that “ended” a few months ago. Fictionally, the Crusade is still on and there are a few more planets that we need to capture. This will all eventually lead up to the Great Jedi War. The first of these planets has been released in the form of Bosthirda.

Muz has released a news post with details on the one event for his planet: A Run-On. An update to the rules has also been posted by Sarin, so please take a quick read of both posts.

So, I’m sure you’re asking yourself “How do I participate?!” Well, easy! Our Proconsul, Yacks, has put up a Sign-Up Form. If you’re interested, go there and sign-up. Yacks will then put all of the teams together. I am hoping to see all of you sign-up. These competitions are where we truly see who are the active members of the House. However, please ensure that you have the time to do 3 250-word posts in just over 2 weeks. It isn’t a lot, but you do need to be around for the next 2 weeks to make sure that you are able to get all of your posts in. I’ve already signed up...have you?

You down with ACC?

Mav, the Combat Master, has put up another update on the Antei Combat Centre. You should have a read, since it also updates us on the current Beta Ladder that’s happening. There’s a lot of Taldryan-folk who have made it onto the next round, including myself and Quejo representing Ektrosis!

If you haven’t yet, now’s the time to get qualified for the ACC before it becomes live. You never know when it will be used for a DB-wide competition, but you can bet it will be showing up for the Great Jedi War. If anyone needs some help with the ACC feel free to ask in #taldryan or just shoot an e-mail to our mailing list and one of us will be glad to help out!

There’s a number of competitions going on, and the Crusade Run-On is right around the corner. That means plenty of opportunity to get more shinies! Oh, and if you’ve read this far, then there’s a quick little report competition as well down below. This will be a feature in each of my reports!

The Mighty Hunter (Ends Feb. 28th) - A TOR-based competitions to kill World Bosses.

Taldryan Series of Pazaak (Ends Feb. 28th) - Do you like Pazaak? Then go play a few rounds and submit to this simple and easy competition!

Flashpoint Fun (Ends Feb. 28th) - Another TOR competition, and this one asks you to complete as many Flashpoints as possible

King of the Hill (Ends Feb. 28th) - Get the most CFs from TOR. Simple as that!

Competition: Injustice (Ends Feb. 28th) - If you own the fighting game Injustice on any platform, then get some games in and submit to this competition.

Monthly Mobile Gaming: Splashy Fish (IOS) (Ends Mar. 4th)- If you have an Apple phone then download this game and have a go.

Monthly Mobile Gaming: Clumsy Bird (Android) (Ends Mar. 4th) - For you Android-users, you can download this game and play it for shinies as well.

I’m a WHAT now?! (Ends Mar. 5th) - Design yourself in an alternate universe where you’re the opposite gender

Feeling a bit Poe-ish today? (Ends Mar. 8th) - Write a tragic poem. Simple as that.

Create an NPC (Ends Mar. 19th) - Create a character that can be used in official DB fictions! Great way to see a creation used by the entire club!

Ektrosis Report: Hunt the Jedi #1 (Ends Mar. 3rd) - The first of an ongoing series of little competitions I will make when I do my reports. Very simple. Sign-up, read the clues and find the person! Fastest people with the correct answer will get the nice little medals

Le Fin

Hope you enjoyed the report. It’s been awhile since I’ve had to do one of these, so need to shake off some of the rust. You will be seeing an Ektrosis report once a week, with myself and Quejo taking turns writing them. I look forward to seeing Ektrosis grow and prosper. Just like the rest of Taldryan, Ekotrsis is a meritocracy. Those who see in leadership spots were given those roles due to their efforts in helping Taldryan get Clanned. We have a lot of growth potential, and if you want to play an active role in it then you need to also be active personally. There are a lot of opportunities to show your mettle for the House and the Clan. I hope many of you truly step-up in the coming months! We will need all of you if we wish to continue on this path.
