I appreciate all the thank yous and well wishes, and am getting right into things. To start I am sorting out my staff, and the position I vacated. I finished up the questions and want to talk about what I plan to do first. You’ll see more posts from me in the coming days.

Also thank you Howie for my report graphics. I am open to something better, possibly, but Howie was great to help me out on short notice.

Q&A

I’ll start with the Q&A. I really appreciate all the questions and it gave me a chance to share my views on most aspects of the DJB. With that in mind I believe I’ve finished up all the questions asked of me. I received them on Telegram, in emails, in shared documents, and tried to keep track of all of it, and did my best.

GM Office

In my own GM staff of Magistrates and Praetors I thought I’d give some transparency there. I inherited several staff members and left one behind.

• Drac will be retained as Praetor, everything he was doing for Mav has been wrapped up but I have some projects I’ll discuss with him about doing specifically around the data shared with Consuls. I plan to use the role as a more visible project manager for things I want to accomplish that aren’t being handled by the DGM but are specific to the office and while we discuss opportunities I plan to keep him around. I’ve worked well with Drac in the past and I am happy to continue working with him to see what type of things we can accomplish.

• Blade will be retained as Magistrate, for Mav she was doing some research into the RM role but that’s mostly wrapped up. I discussed her interests and I believe that she will do well to continue on a different research topic but do much of the same for me that she was doing for Mav.

• Muz has moved over from my staff as DGM, to follow me to GM. I pondered the need for an official position for what Muz is doing for me but I want to make sure it’s publicly clear that he is the focal point for a topic that is of great importance to me but that won’t be my focus for a while which is End Game content. He has agreed to continue to be my point person on this stuff and work on different ideas and plans such that when I’m ready to move on from the NV/JM/EQ experiences he has it well organized for me.

I don’t plan to bring on any additional members to my staff, depending on Drac and Blade’s interest in the projects and research I have in mind we will assess their interest and act accordingly. I don’t like staff members just to have staff members but I value the input of all 3 of these individuals and look forward to working with them on a range of things.

Deputy Grand Master

It’s something asked of me during the voting period for GM, and my plans remain the same as I mentioned. I have several candidates in mind that I think would do great as DGM and as GM and I’ve already reached out to those candidates. With that in mind however, from talking to Muz it seems like it’s been years since applications for DGM were solicited and I’d like to take the opportunity to allow members to apply.

I am opening applications for DGM, I’ll be completely honest, because I don’t know who all are interested in the role. I get an opportunity to talk to DC members about their future interests, and sometimes that’s GM. I see jokes on Telegram but no real serious talk. So if you are at all interested in becoming DGM and being mentored for GM, your application may not get you as quickly as you want where you want to be, but it’s a chance to have me read your application and understand your interests.

I don’t have a specific format you should follow, but concise is better. Explain what your vision as GM would be, and why you’d make a great DGM, and take the chance if you want it. I have a lot of projects and ideas I hope to accomplish in what’s already a predetermined length of my term and it may lead to your involvement there or in other ways.

First Priorities

Right now I am starting out in a few areas and I’ll touch on each in the coming weeks:

• Hire a DGM as top priority.
• Work with the story group on a fictional update and a good transition from Mav to Evant fictionally speaking.
• Get the experience project jump started from where it’s at. I talked to Atra who is leading the effort and it’s made great progress but we need to push it along and start getting people assigned to other dependencies for release.
• Get a lead assigned to the email project and get some progress on that. I know I mentioned it in my last DGM report but the pending transition of GM had me pause but it’s something I really want to do.
• Reach out to all the Consuls with a list of questions I’ve had for a while but never got into as DGM and drive a good conversation I hope with each. I want to focus on how things are going in each Clan and discuss the Vendetta schedule though I’ll have more focused questions.

Above is all I’ve got in these short few days. As I get a DGM in place and start some conversations and projects I’ll update where things are at further. I also know I’ve been getting a lot of proposals and I’ll get around to them all in time. I want to get some projects moving along and some hires done and am not in a position to really dig into something brand new at the moment but don’t hesitate to send them. I will review them all in time.
