Shameless plug

You’ve all seen what happened recently with my home Clan, Odan-Urr, and their planet, New Tython. The situation has created a lot of good fiction opportunities for COU, and for me as well. You’ll notice my character is no longer V’yr Vorsa, but this new girl — Negasonic, as Pravus likes to call her :P

Well I still go by Vyr on TG so don’t go calling me Morgan for no good reason. :P

Why the change?

It was necessary to remove a light side character from the DC in a way that would feel natural and not clash with anyone’s story. So I changed characters into one that was originally supposed to be an NPC, and has been developing for well over a year now.

So what now?

Now I go a-pirating :P

Custom weapons and warbanners

IMPORTANT NOTE: Please take time to carefully read this section. It’s very important that you know what you can and cannot have at each given rank.

I wanted to take this time to talk to you guys about several important updates related to Custom weapons and Custom warbanners. I’d like to explain how each is handled and what you can actually request, with example images.

Let’s start with:

Custom warbanners

Elders and Dark Council receive the right to have Custom Warbanners. These individuals are not limited to what they can request (although certain items, such as the medallion are still limited to their Leadership and/or Titleholder status). This means you’re not limited by shapes and patterns and can request exotic stuff like these in the examples:

We’ve made some changes to the Custom ranged weapons like pistols and rifles. They’re still split into categories: Pistols, Carbines, Sniper rifles and Heavy Weapons, and you till pick components, but it’s the way you pick them that has changed.

After much deliberation, we’ve decided to allow you guys to pick any components from any single category, not just a specific model. So if you want a pistol, you can choose the body of a DL-44, barrel of a DH-17 and a grip of an Enforcer slugthrower and we’ll make it work for you. Also, all the modifications are open to everyone. You can now select a scope, laser and silencer if you wish, or neither of those. Also you may request special additions to the weapon, like logos, scratches, a special finish (extra chrome, etc), leather, wood or other types of grips.

What does this mean for you?

It means you have more options to select from and truly make a custom item you’ll be happy with. You are not limited to what we have shown on the wiki: It is up to you to tell us what you want us to modify. All of what you see on the wiki are just very basic items that we need to modify and upgrade to fit your wishes.

There are several good examples of this where you can see how the components have been modified to fit what the user wants. Check them out and see what I mean.

The request form has been updated to reflect these changes and simplifications, as have the wiki pages. Look through them and enjoy.

Update: Non-Force Users and Lightsabers!

In light of several scenes in the new movie where Finn wields a lightsaber with debatable proficiency, the GM has elected to allow members of the Non-Force User orders to display lightsabers on their dossiers.

What does this mean for you?

This means that you, as an NFU, will be able to display a shiny lightsaber on your dossier and, yes, wield it in the ACC (Direct your ACC related questions to Wally aka Marick Arconae).

What’s the catch?

There’s always one. NFUs are not allowed Custom Lightsabers. They are limited to Custom Ranged and Melee weapons, however this does not limit them from requesting a selector saber as a secondary weapon at a certain rank.

To explain: Raider Redshirt McTrooper will never be able to request a Custom Lightsaber. However he will be able to request a Custom Blaster pistol with a selector saber as a secondary weapon.

It’s that simple. The lightsabers I mention are already in your selectors, so enjoy.

In an ideal world? Character portraits or even full body images. But, alas, this is not the ideal world so we make due.

In all likelihood we will make new stuff as the movies come out. I don’t expect much will change based on fictional development within the DB, however it is something to look at.

Nero asks: #asktheherald: Are the ships released with Possessions going to have custom art.

Each ship type will have an image. So a T-65 will have a different image from a T-70. But ISD X in Arcona and ISD Y in CNS will not be any different graphically.

Rian asks: #AsktheHerald based on nero's question, are we allowed to customize our ships with color schemes or do we have to buy color schemes separately? I don't mean the generic image you provide for possessions but extra images for the Wikis and descriptions on the character sheet or whereever we can describe them.

There won’t be any issues with cosmetics, I believe. but this is a question for the VOICE, rather than me.

Yes. Usually these involve functionality that goes beyond the common weapon. Fingerprint scanners for blade ignitor switches being one such example.
