HM #2: Credit Where It's Due
Introduction
Kia ora everyone!
There is quite a bit to celebrate in this report. We've got Decathlon results, the outcome of our search for an Academy "Clippy" competitions, and a couple of achievements that deserve some attention. There are also two new courses nearly ready to go, but first, a thank you to my predecessor.
A Master of Lore
I want to thank Turel for his service as Headmaster and the time and effort he put into the Shadow Academy. Being back in this chair has certainly reminded me how much work goes on behind the scenes to keep everything running.
In recognition of his service to the Academy, Turel has been granted the Master of Lore.

Shadow Academy Decathlon
Congratulations to our top three in the August Shadow Academy Decathlon:
- Tiberius Filth - 186 Academic Credits!
- Jabis Ravenhawk - 54 Academic Credits
- Tra'an Reith di Plagia - 26 Academic Credits
Thank you to everyone who took a Shadow Academy course!
The Decathlon runs every month and quarter, with placing based on the Academic Credits you earn during the respective periods. Participation is automatic for the top 35 students, all you need to do is take some courses!
The September and 3rd Quarter competitions both run until 30 September. If there is a course you've been meaning to get around to, consider this your nudge.
Twelve out of twelve
A special shout-out to Korvyn, who was the first member to reach Research Director in the Aurora Collegium of Sciences during my current tenure as Headmaster!
That takes a lot of work to achieve and I wanted to mark the occasion with a Scroll of Foundation. Congratulations, Korvyn!
Forging a Holo-Guide
The holo-guide competitions have wrapped up, and I want to thank everyone who submitted an entry. You took my request for the Shadow Academy's own "Clippy" and gave me plenty to work with. I invited puns... and I certainly got some.

Writing together, coming soon
Two new courses on Collaborative Writing are nearly ready for release. If you've been meaning to try writing with others, keep an eye out.
Both courses will be added to the Writing degree path. I'll share the details of how they fit into that path when the courses are released.
