[HOTH] Look to Windward - Mar 2026 Report

Intro

Hello House Hoth! This report was unfortunately a little delayed, but here we are. I am your new Quaestor! You may call me just about anything, but most just call me Tor or Siv (based off Sivall, my first character here).

About Me

I’m in my late 20’s and work in Clinical Research. I have one daughter and two cats. I’m currently engaged to our former CON, Wolfe. I’m in my last semester for my Associates Degree in Applied Science for Information Technology with a concentration in Cybersecurity and Information Assurance. I’m like a less cool Arch.

I’ve been in the DJB for 3 years now and I’ve done quite a few things here. Most notably, I was the Praetor to the Emissary until just recently. Under Erinyes, I helped facilitate communications between the EMS team and the HRLD team under Bale. I also helped us set up our socials and overhauled the newsletter. I’ve been in clan leadership before, and served under Zuza when she was Arcona’s CON. There I helped solidify Galeres’ identity and help people begin to create their own stories before real life got in the way and I had to step down.

Since I was little, I have been helping moderate and run online communities. I’ve been everywhere from small things like character sheet approval, all the way to Kam-like positions running HR departments. As for my character, who will be your Quaestor…

About My Character

Nildea Vidh is a 50 year old Sephi female– essentially a young adult in her race’s eyes. She went to the Jedi Academy alongside Masahiro and did go through being a Padawan. However, she was unable to stick to the Jedi tenets and left the order before ever graduating to be a Knight. She still found use in her Jedi upbringing– she became a liaison for the Vatali Empire, helping bridge the gap between the Empire and the Jedi Order. She also became an Orator, a lecturer, giving anthology lessons to Jedi and Empire members alike.

She’s a heavy alcoholic, using it to cope with the strain of trying to diplomatically keep the Empire and the Jedi Order from each other’s throats. She can be very cold and uncaring on the surface, but has a soft spot in her heart for the little people.

What’s Next?

Storyline

Since House Hoth’s revival, we’ve struggled to keep a singular storyline. Originally, we were meant to go a darker route under Tisto, where Nightsister influences led us away from the Empire and into a working class uprising. We still had some of that under Kav/Syrena, but we strayed, and had multiple different story hooks. I’m keeping those themes. I will be releasing a fiction update within the next little while outlining what’s going on, but essentially, we’re tired of being ruled by the bourgeois. We are tough people, hands in the dirt, and we’re disinterested in the political ploys of the Empire. We want our own rule, and we’re going to get it.

There will be obstacles in the way. Defecting from the Empire means losing the safety of the Empire, and in that power vacuum, many people are making a move to try and get their hands on a slice of Kaal. The Knights of Allusis are at the ready, helping to protect by becoming a strike team against our adversaries. Under Doon Sulvir, they have begun to see movement in the shadows, and are prepped to jump before they get to us…

The Lord Protector

Previously, the Lord Protector was run as a house-wide competition. It will no longer be run as such. I will also be adjusting the points system. You can see those adjustments below:

These will be included in our monthly clan reports and a copy retained so that we can still finish out the year. Project work and reports were removed from the points system because they are redundant– leadership does not qualify for the Lord Protector. Winning the previous month’s Lord Protector should not put you above anyone else, so that was also removed. One last big change is that competition in competitions you organized will not count towards your participation points for the month– the site already does this.

The Lord Protector for 2025 is Edgar Drachen. I will be getting with them in the next few weeks to get information about their room to add to the Lord Protector suite in Kaal. The Lord Protector Suite will have a wiki page soon with a log of all of our Protector’s changes and image references. You can take a 3D tour of the Lord protector suite here.

How Reports are Done

Reports will be going out in multiple forms now. Reports will also go out via email for those who don’t check the site regularly. There will also be a recap done in the House’s Discord chat for those who don’t visit the site often (I see you, gamers). I will also try to do a quarterly newsletter for the house, giving a recap of the storyline changes in an easily digestible format.

Our first newsletter is set to go live next month, at the beginning of April.
