Welcome to the first ever report for House Hoth. To say that I am stoked about doing this and being the first QUA of Hoth is an understatement! Please excuse the mess, we are still in the process of building everything. Plus the Quaestor here is an idiot on making his own Markdown stuff. This will pretty much be a wall of text, I want report graphics, but we have more pressing stuff to build right now.
Most everyone here knows me in one fashion or another. I've been in the DJB for over 14 years now and have served as QUA of 3 Houses. Caliburnus in CSP, Satal Keto in Plag, and now Hoth. Aside from that I did a 5 year stint as the Professor of Flight Studies, and was the creator of the Astronomy Course. In RL, I am a 30 year old who lives in the remote regions of the Southern US. I enjoy gaming, Astronomy, and all other things geek related. Im also married, and convinced the woman crazy enough to marry me to also join the DJB. Talk about blending Reality and fiction!
Ive been working with the Clan Summit, and Revak to construct a nice little world for everyone in Hoth. Right now we are in the process of building our little place on New Tython. Within the next 2 - 4 weeks we are planning on starting the main storyline for Hoth to keep everyone occupied for the next 6 months or so.
If yall are curious as to why everything seems to be taking so long, I have an explanation. First, alot of people are burned out from the recent Vendetta and I wanted to give them time to rest up a little. Second, as we build Hoth, I let our members be the frontrunner. While it is nominally the QUA who has the last say over things in their House, I do things a bit different. When I run a big competition, I do it with the intention that the overall winner will go down in our record books (aka Wiki). Not only as the winner, but a decision maker. Without letting on too much, when Hoth starts up its story in a few weeks, the overall winner will have to make a life or death choice. This choice will affect the next round of the storyline for Hoth. Life gives one path, Death another.
If you haven't figured it out yet, House Hoth is very martial, just like our namesake. While we do not actively seek to kill our foes, we will without hesitation for the greater good of those we protect. We are the Bulwark against the Darkness, but be careful, we do have a spear to strike back against our foes.
Changes were made to the Gaming Degrees. It is now split between a Warfare and Tactics degree with one requiring Clusters of Fire, and the other Clusters of Ice.
Wally, the former Shadow Lord of Arcona, was appointed as Combat Master. With his placement there have been some upcoming changes announced for the ACC as well as new Judges. Also a new Lightsaber Guide was published. Looks neat, just a bit hard to read!
Grand Master Jac Cotelin has been elevated to the position of Justicar. With his appointment he has replaced Aabsdu as Left Hand of Justice with Montressor. Also it has been announced that several much needed changes will be happening with the Dark Covenant. On the negative side of a Justicar appointment there have been 8 open cases going through the Chamber of Justice….
Tales of New Tython is the biggest bit of news right now! This is the first Clan competition since we were formed last month, and will shape the way that we look at New Tython for the near (and in some ways far) future. If you havent, you should read Echo-1’s PCON report
Quite possibly one of the biggest pieces of news too was the announcement of Odan-Urr Clan title holders. These members are considered Paragons of the Clan and are what holds up the ideals of what it means to be an Odanite. Please congratulate Ji, Alora, Echo-1, Liam, and Solari on this achievement!
Right now we are assisting with the efforts of reclaiming some Ancient Harakoan Artifacts However due to some urgent transmissions made by Mon Calamari colonists on the coast of Kamuekiko, we have began to scout for locations to place a base of operations in the area.
I am in the process of having our House Logo created. However I need a motto to go along with it. So Ive made it into a competition so that everyone has a chance to be in our history books. You're welcome to submit as many motto’s as you think are appropriate. However I ask that you keep it under 5. :D
I am currently seeking members who are Jedi Knight and above for Mentors to our newer members. Only requirements other than JK or above is you must be active. We need our best and brightest helping to show the future the ropes!

Its been an amazing month in the DJB. We stand upon a new age, and now with Odan Urr clanning, there is no reason why we cannot prosper. We are here to enjoy something that others may find weird, but hey, as long as it makes you happy and doesn't hurt others, who cares. That being said, if you feel froggy, talk to friends about us. I make it a weekly endeavour to talk to friends both in RL and in the games I play about us. TBH Im also thinking of making a hundred or so business card about the DJB to hand out at a large Convention I am attending in September. We have only thrived for as long as we have because we bring new blood in. Who knows, the next person you recruit could be a future Grand Master. Also be kind to one another, especially our newer people. There is alot of information that has to be absorbed in this club, and new people ask some pretty easily answerable questions….for those who know the answers. Be patient with them, who knows they may be the next Alora and be your Consul!
