[Night Hawks] September Report - Legacy

Introduction:

Good day Night Hawks and Sadowans,

I’d like to start this report off with a brief introduction to who I am and what I expect from those under my care. Though this report will be brief in itself I will do my best to set out what I have planned as well as ensure by the end of the day that everyone is on the same footing as I am when it comes to this illustrious Battleteam. So without further ado, we will start with who I am:

I am Kojiro Keibatsu Sadow, first time getting to write that woop, and I have been in the DB for 14 years come the 27th of September. During that time I have been in Arcona, where I served as BTS and BTL, Plagueis where likewise I created and served as BTL and a brief stint in Tarentum before moving to Naga Sadow after a short time in rogues. I have served Sadow for about five years now as AED and QUA for Marka Ragnos and now one of its BTL’s. On top of this and during these 5 years I have also served with the Justicar, Shadow Academy, Regency Team and now the FIST. So suffice to say I am experienced in regards to most facets of the club, just don’t ask me about Herald and Graphics, unless you wish for wonky stickmen.

Outside of the club, and the primary reason for my brief report and lateness of my introduction, I am a Veterinary Nurse, literally just moved countries to start a new job and working such fun hours helping our furry friends stay fit and healthy. I am a big burly metalhead, wargamer, RPG player (tabletop and computer), LARPer and pretty down to earth in most things. Besides this, I am an active Pagan, and usually far too lazy to put up with others drama. I haven’t quite adjusted to the move, the new job and the new life I am currently within so may take me a few weeks to get my feet grounded, hence the lack of fiction for this month. But there will be one next time!

I am not going to expect much from you, I am just looking for you to step up and help me by getting involved with comps, come to me with issues so I can adjust things and answer emails I punt out so I can see how you guys are doing.

State of the Battleteam:

One thing I didn’t mention above, but I am a pretty blunt person and will say it like it is. So, in this case, I have to say the Battleteam is in pretty bad shape and was left far too long to flounder, and it’s members left without guidance and for that, I am sorry that this happened. There was a failure somewhere, which sadly left some of you being left out, nearly hitting rogue or just not finding your space with HMR, CNS and the Club and I refuse to let this continue as it has been.

To this end each month I shall be putting out at minimum 4 competitions, one from each area of the club, and a primary story fiction. This fiction will effectively be led by you as members. What I mean by this is I will give an overarching story for the team and in each monthly fiction prompt provides a choice of paths you can choose from, I will mark the competition as usual and then tally the number of chosen paths which will result in my writing the next part of the story by what the team has chosen. This way the story is yours and I am but the Dungeon Master, of course, if no one takes part then I will simply choose the path. Those who enter the comps each month, at least 2 out of 4, will also be featured in the stories and thus be part of making the Hawks story and future.

This is your team, not mine. I want to see you guys involved and shaping the future of the Hawks.

What I Will Provide and What I Expect:

I have touched on this above but I want to reiterate this to ensure you are aware of what I expect as a BTL, primarily starting from the 1st of October:

  • I will provide you with a minimum of four competitions a month.
  • I will provide you with monthly fiction updates.
  • I will ensure we touch base at least once a month by email, Telegram or some other means.
  • I will put out a monthly report highlighting the accomplishments of you guys.
  • I expect you to participate at a minimum in two comps a month from the Night Hawks pool.
  • I expect you to reach out to me if you are experiencing trouble.
  • I expect you to be honest with me if I am not hitting your expectations.
  • I want you to have fun and will do my best to help accommodate this.

Competitions:

I am going to throw up a quick puzzle competition this month, so I can plan next months comps properly and continue adjusting to my new life. Once the puzzle is approved I will send out its link so you can participate.

As for other competitions to wet your appetite with we have a few from other CNS members listed below, as well as other comps from across the Club as a whole:

Conclusion:

Thanks for reading, I hope going forth I can provide you with an excellent BT and you can discover the fun to be had in the Club. After this report, I am going to send out an email asking what you want from the Club, your interests and what type of comps you are most interested in so I can tailor mini-events to you.

Regards,

Kojiro Keibatsu Sadow
