Introduction

The horizon on which the Great Jedi War lurks may be farther away than it was last month, but fear not! Your summit is never going to sit on their collective hands and do nothing. There is most certainly something brewing for you all, and it's closer than some of you might have thought...

This month's art feature are two pieces done by KaRolding for Azmodius and TuQ'uan. At last all the summit members have faces!

Summit Changes

I know I mentioned this in our short update following the end of our Wargame event, but I wanted to re-highlight a few changes to the Plagueis summit for those that missed them. Malice let me know a while ago that with her real life being what it was, staying on as Aedile just wasn't in the cards for her. As such, I decided to move Laren Uscot, mercenary extraordinaire, into the Aedile chair to replace her. Laren is no stranger to House leadership, having served as both an Aedile and a Quaestor in Plagueis before. I'm sure that he and Furios will make an excellent team that can hit the ground running, mostly because they've been working so well together on the summit already.

Replacing Laren, however, was no small task. That being said, however, there was one name that really stood out from the pack as a replacement: TuQ'uan Varick. TuQ'uan has been an excellent addition to Plagueis since his arrival, both on the activity front as well as adding his voice to the community via our Telegram channel. The fact that he's also a mercenary replacing a mercenary is just a happy coincidence. Not planned at all.

Great Jedi War XII

As I'm sure you're all aware by now, the Twelth Great Jedi War has been delayed. Too bad, so sad. But, fear not good people, as part of the reason for the delay is to make this Great Jedi War the bestest one yet. It will be, in the words of Yu-Gi-Oh: Abridged:

But, the delay of the Great Jedi War also leaves all of us full of all these competitive juices, but with nowhere to pour them. So, in the interest of giving us something to be competitive about, I bring you....

Pro Bowl 2017

The 2017 iteration of the Pro Bowl. As some might remember, the Pro Bowl was a competition Plagueis hosted last year that offered a bit of a different team dynamic than normal. Namely, the Clan was divided into two teams, not based on House Affiliation or anything so pedestrian, by having team captains pick the members of the Clan in a draft (a format sadly abandoned by the real life NFL Pro Bowl, but we keep the fires burning!). Last year, the team captains were myself as Proconsul and then Teylas as Consul. This year, however, we're going to see something a bit different though. Because we've invited somebody else to the field of battleā€¦

That's right, ladies and germs, this year's version is the Plagueis/Taldryan Pro Bowl! Both Clans will be divided in two via the team draft, with the Consul from one clan and Proconsul from the other serving as team co-captains. As such, the team leaders (and team names, don't forget those!) for this year will be as follows:

Rylance and Abadeer will be leading Team Abalance, while Alaris and myself will be leading team Selaris. And, just like last year, we've created a sticker pack for use on Telegram so you can show your respective team spirit and tell those people on the other team how much more awesome you are. The team ones will, of course, have a bit more meaning and use when the teams are finally selected. Which brings us to the schedule.

The Pro Bowl will be a four week event, with a single Week Zero event and then three weeks featuring 8 varied events to follow. Week Zero will run from August 14th to August 20th, Week One from August 21st - August 27th, Week two from August 28th - September 3rd, and Week Three from September 4th - September 10th. Each week will run from midnight Monday GMT to midnight Sunday GMT, so you've all got those weekends to finalize your last minute submissions.

As far as format, it will also be somewhat familiar. The single Week Zero event will, just like last year, be used to determine the draft order for the team captains, with the co-captains with the lowest combined completion time selecting first in the draft, and then both teams alternating picks from there. Each of the two Clans will be drafted separately, ensuring that both teams will have an equal mix of Taldryan and Plaguies members. The team rosters should be released in advance of the start of Week One.

Scoring will be as follows: Each individual will earn five points per event they participate in. Participation is defined a valid submission for an event. Simply signing up for an event or uploading an unqualified submission will not count. You have to put in the effort in order to receive the reward. Participation will earn 5 points.

Additionally, the top three individuals in each event will earn placement modifier points. First place will earn 4 points, second place will earn 3 points, and third place will earn 2 points, and all other entries will earn 1 point. Events themselves will have modifiers based off their perceived difficulty/level of effort required. For example: the modifier for fiction will be 3, modifier for gaming/graphics/poetry will be 2, and no modifier will be added to puzzle/trivia/flash events.

Grading formula: (Placement Score * Event Modifier) + Participation = Event Score

At the end of the competition, the individual scores for all three weeks will be added up, and the top three individuals will earn crescents for the overall competition. Total scores for both teams, including the Week Zero event, will determine the victorious team.

Lastly, with all the Clan, House, and Battleteam summits participating in the competition, I'd like to thank Teylas Ramar and Dracaryis for running the entire event by creating and grading all the competitions. They had both offered to run the Pro Bowl for 2017 when I stepped up as Consul, and we should all give them a hearty round of thanks for all the work they're going to be doing for this one!

So, get ready to go out and kick some butts with your new Tally teammates!

In Closing

The Pro Bowl is upon us. I know it popped up rather suddenly (A wild Pro Bowl appears), but it is my hope that our preparation for the delayed Great Jedi War will stand us in good stead for the event. Having Taldryan along for the ride this year should offer us a nice opportunity to foster some inter-clan relationships as well. Last year's Pro Bowl was one of our more successful events, and it is really my hope that we can recapture some of that magic this year.

Yay Pro Bowl!

Yusss! Thanks Drac and Teylas!!! Can't wait to put my new face on the leader boards!

Love the art! Good luck with the Bowl, guys!

Pro Bowl, take two. I shall play like winning Giants and write with gargantuan fervor.

This bowl appears to contain another set of pros from which to choose, interesting.

I is sad. No team Ardenrelious to demonstrate Rollmaster supremacy :).
