Plagueis Proconsul Report #1: A New Chapter

header

Good morning, afternoon or good day to all you lovelies. It’s a new day and a new chapter here for the people of Clan Plagueis. We’ve had an eventful last couple weeks. Many old faces stepping down, and new faces coming into the ring. I for one am very excited to see what is to come in the next few months. If you haven’t already, give a big thanks to Teylas, who worked tirelessly for everyone here and was one of the best leaders Plagueis has ever seen. He’s still lurking about, but we’ll miss him here at the helm.

But in his place we have the only man who could replace him, Slagar, who I’m personally excited to see take on the helm. Fresh ideas and new paths are what I see for the future of the Clan. Let’s all offer our support to him and the rest of the Summit as we move forward.

Now unless you’ve been living under a rock, you’ve probably noticed the rest of the Summit has been shifting around as well. I got a fancy new header! But seriously, I’m grateful to Slags for the chance to serve you all as the new Proconsul. He did an amazing job, so much work that goes untold, sometimes rarely noticed. I hope to follow his footsteps and do half of what he took care of. So if I’m not doing well enough, let me know. One last note, cause I’m a complainer, the one thing they never tell you about getting a new job, but when you move you lose the coding for all of your old reports, which I stupidly didn’t have saved to computer itself. My fault, so I can’t complain too much.

Introduction

Hopefully all of you know me by know, only been here for about year, but for any new persons or those who choose to be consciously unaware, here’s a little about myself. I’m Abadeer, Togruta extrodinaire. Been here in the Brotherhood for just two weeks short of a year, and what a fun year it’s been. I was brought into the DJB by my wife, Malice, who you can find lurking around in the corner from time to time. I’ve been here in Plagueis the whole time (except a two day stint in Naga Sadow that doesn’t count), and I plan to be here for a long time. I feel like I found a home and a family here, and I hope to continue to nurture a similar experience for all our other members here, new and old. I plan to give this job my all, because you all deserve nothing less. You work hard, and you deserve someone that works just as hard for you. Slags and I have been talking recently right before I was hired here, and during the application process about some of the things that I want to bring to the table and some of the things I’m going to be implementing. But more on those later. We’ve heard enough about me, and I’m tired about typing about myself, here’s some fiction!

Fiction Update

35 ABY Audience Chamber The Pinnacle, Aliso

Selika sat in her new throne, fingers tapping impatiently on the armrest. The seat itself was uncomfortable, but it certainly garnered respect. Selika was a dangerous woman to deal with, everyone who’d ever met her knew this, and the seat of power now only cemented that fear she created in others. Roh’s impatience was currently being created by the group of men who stood before her. In Plagueis’ attempt to gain a powerful footing in their corner of the Galaxy, the Summit had ordered agents proficient in espionage and influence to create footholds of control in the governments of several surrounding planets. Plagueis needed to cement their control over these planets, but had no desire to currently engage in drawn out military conflicts with several planets.

The news that this group had brought back was not at all what the new Consul of Clan Plagueis was hoping or expecting. Not only had the men failed to infiltrate the government of the planet they’d been assigned to, but they had also brought unwanted attention to the growing power that Plagueis was becoming in this sector. The more they spoke, the more the di Plagia became enraged.

“My Lord, there was nothing we could do. Please understand, that the people of Sclera are very tight nit and secretive. It was impossible for us as outsiders to gain the trust of the people.” Agent Davon stuttered, nervously rubbing his hands together.

“Enough!” Selika sat up, a look of pure ire in her eyes. “I’m not asking for excuses. When I assign a task to my officers, I expect it to be done. If I wanted this dribble you are trying to pass off as results...” The simmering Consul paused for a moment to collect her herself. She continued more calm and composed, voice dripping like ice, “Davon, you have failed me, and have thus incurred my Wrath.”

As the words came out of the woman’s painted purple lips, Agent Davon rose several inches off the ground, every muscle and vein in his neck straining. Davon grasped at his neck trying to fend off the invisible assault. Davon’s fellow agents started to gather around him worried, trying to help the desperate man.

“Please Mistress,” he begged.

Selika’s eyebrow raised threateningly.

“My Lord, please spare him. We will remedy the situation, please let us have a second chance.” Agent Ridden pleaded.

Selika chuckled softly and darkly to herself. “I’m sorry, but that’s completely out of my control now.” There was a cruel smirk on the Consul’s face. Ridden started moving towards the throne, his motives not entirely clear, but the agent could not take more than a few steps before he too was lifted several inches off the ground.

From the deep shadows behind the Consul’s throne, two glowing orange dots appeared. A tall, imposing, horned figure stepped forward out of the shadows. The Togruta’s hands were both raised, fists clenched, one hand directed at each of the raised figures.

“I told you my dears, you have incurred my Wrath, and he finds that completely unacceptable.” Selika’s face showed a slight amount of amusement, but her voice was as cold and unfeeling as the vacuum of space.

Two resonating cracks resounded from Davon and Ridden’s necks. Abadeer Taasii stepped forward next to the Dread Lord’s Throne, both hands dropping by his sides, as both men crashed to the ground, bodies lifeless.

“Gentlemen, Agents Davon and Ridden have chosen to no longer continue their operations on Sclera. I trust you’ll chose more wisely. Tessle,” the man Abadeer turned to address immediately dropped to one knee, “You are now in charge of this operation. I trust you are not going to disappoint me as these fools have. Do not return until Sclera is ready to fall under our dominion. Dismissed.”

The remaining agents quickly exited the throne room, not daring to utter a single word before they were well away from the terrifying duo. Selika looked down at the corpses who were now cluttering her floor.

“Seems a bit of a waste don’t you think?” Selika noted to Abadeer without turning to him.

Taasii turned to face her, one brow raised. “This is coming from you? I wasn’t there but your kill count seems obscenely high for some of our non-essential personnel.”

Selika let a small smirk cross her face for only a moment. “Careful Abadeer, I’ve taken a chance in allowing you into this position at my right hand. Do not overstep your bounds.”

The Togruta bowed shallowly, a sarcastic smirk on his lips. “Of course my Lord. Don’t worry, Sclera will fall. I’ll personally see to it.”

Abadeer retreated back to the deep shadow behind the throne, disappearing into the gloom. Selika sat for a moment in silence with herself and her thoughts. Plagueis was changing, and she was there at the helm to guide the Clan towards her vision.

Well here we go, Plagueis is starting to take over the galaxy. Go team! Yay fiction! Now for a few things that I’m going to be implementing as the Proconsul. Some of you have already participated, but I’m going to be hosting a competition every other week, but there’s more! At the end of every month, starting February, there’s going to be a special prize for the overall winner of the month’s two competitions. You will either get the chance to be featured in a fiction piece that will be posted in my report, or from time to time I’ll be using my new found art abilities to get you some new character art. Hurray, prizes! And there may be more prizes later, but for now that’s what’s happening. So if you like fiction and art, get out there and do things. May I even say, do all of the things?

#AskthePCON

questiontime

  • From Kelly Mendes: #askthePCON would you say you started at the bottom now you're here?

Answer: Well as I mentioned above, I started as but a humble peon in CNS, so as low as you can get. Then as my wife so wonderfully put it, “I got on office, which was just a broom closet attached to Arden’s office. Now I get a broom closet attached to Slags office.” So yeah, I think I’ve made it.

  • From Kul’tak: #AskthePCON Fictionally speaking, how does Abadeer feel about Selika's rise to power and how do you think that will affect the clan synergy?

Answer: Now this is a good question. I’m a huge fan of fiction, and I plan on help moving Plagueis’ fiction forward while in this position. So these questions really excite me. Ok an actual answer. Abadeer has moved up in power with Selika, so per his character drive, this exactly what he was looking for. I’ll be coming out with another piece of fiction for the RO about his rise to power with Selika. Selika is definitely more of a scheming character, as you saw from his fiction last Consul Report. Abadeer his going to truly embody the roll of Wrath, he is going to be the Dread Lord’s enforcer. As for the synergy of the Clan, Teylas was heavily opposed to Pravus, but Selika is out for herself, and will stop at nothing to further her own agenda. Abadeer is not wholly aware of these events, so he will be waiting, watching and biding his time.

  • From Furios: #AskthePCON how do you intend to solve the economic crisis on Aliso? Does the civil war in the nearby Precolia system affect your plan for an economically independent Aliso?

Answer: There’s a lot of rumors floating around, but we don’t believe there’s an economic crisis here on Aliso, in fact we believe the economy is stronger here than ever. We’ve recently funded the military with an entirely new fleet, so how could we be low on funds? As for Precolia, we can neither confirm nor deny the existence of any civil war. Next question?

  • From Arden: #AskthePCON If you had a choice, where would Abadeer prefer Arden shoot him?

Answer: Well if I had to choose, right between the eyes. Make it quick. Between Arden and Abadeer I can only see one of two endings: Abadeer dies with a new facial orifice, or Arden get’s banished for trying. Go the way of Callus, as a pile of goop.

  • From Aabs: #AskthePCON if someone wanted to kill @Aabsdu so they could be the only elder in the clan, would you support that? I'm asking for a friend.

Answer: I like my killings with purpose. Making oneself an endangered species doesn’t cut it. Plus Plagueis has a rich and vibrant culture of taking care of our Elders. Let me show you the home.

  • From JSRB: #AskthePCON Who do you have winning the super bowl and the score?

Answer: I don't usually watch sports (ducks the booing crowd) but I think this year I think I'll follow Madden's simulation for the Superbowl they did. Patriots winning 28 to 24.

Concluding Thoughts

As mentioned above, we’re hiring here at the Summit for a couple of our open positions. We’re hiring for the Aedile spot of HKM and the BTL spot on the Circle. Plagueis has had some great leaders in the time I’ve been here, and the expectations are high. If you can help make those areas better, please apply. We want to hear from you, and we can never know you’re interested until you apply. We want to fill both those spots as soon as possible and hope to have a decision by mid next week. I’ll shamelessly steal from Slags last report on his thoughts for applying.

The last few days has seen some changes come to our Clan and House summits as I'm sure some are aware. First and foremost, Abadeer Taasii moved from Aedile of House Karness Muur to take over my former position as Proconsul. However, the changes didn't stop there. Jai'de Serpens, our esteemed Rollmaster, has been battling the demons of Real Life of late, and has decided to step down from her post. Please wish her luck in her fight against the demons, and offer her thanks for her great second stint as Clan RM. In her place I've decided to appoint House Karness Muur Quaestor Arden Karn for his latest repeat tour as Rollmaster. He's done it before, he can do it again! As this left Karness Muur totally devoid of leadership (Zounds!), I made the decision to bypass applications and bring in Furios Morega, late of The Circle battleteam, to take over the reigns. He's another experienced, veteran leader who I know will make a great Quaestor for Karness Muur. I think Abadeer, Arden, and Furios can figure out some way to split the tab for everyone's drinks in celebration of their new positions!

This, however, does leave the positions of Karness Muur Aedile and Battleteam Leader of The Circle open, and I have decided to open them both to applications club-wide. Applicants can apply for one or both of the positions, with the application period running until February 7th at 11:59 pm EST. Please send all BTL applications to Arden, Abadeer, and myself. Those applying for Aedile (or both positions) please include Furios on your application as well. Just let us know what position or positions your applying for, and if you have a preference for one over the other. I know I speak for all my fellow summit members when I say we look forward to receiving your applications!

As always, let me say you guys are awesome, and keep being so. I wanted this to be a quick introduction report, but it ended up being one of my longest ones yet. Ah well, thanks for sticking through and reading it anyway. Let's have a great month Plagueis!
