Proconsul Report #3

Greetings everyone! Thank you for joining me for my 3rd report as Proconsul. It's been a while since my last report and we have a few updates to get to. Lets jump right in!

Our last event, Thankful In Thanadris, introduced the galaxy at large to Interitus Cairn, a planet in the Caelus system that was assumed dead, ravaged by the cataclysmic seismic activity that followed a strike from Emergence debris. While the Republic’s attention was turned elsewhere, the planet’s chaotic forces cooled and some semblance of peace was restored. Far away from the impact point, survivors began to rebuild civilization. To the West, the ancestors of High Republic Jedi and other survivors, aided by Lady Second Cassandra Oriana Taldrya, built Thanadris around what remained of the Jedi Temple and Waystation. Members of the Taldryan Republic gathered in the new city and demonstrated the benefits of the two societies working together. In the process, a discovery was made: beneath the old Waystation was a sealed stone door, leading deeper underground. What lay behind that door, however, was a mystery. Until now.

Followed closely by his white-garbed Summit Guard, Ood descended down the damaged stone stairs into the depths of a new area that had been recently identified by the excavation teams assisting in the final cleanup stages of the former Jedi Waystation that stood above where they are now.

Its halls had significant amounts of dirt caked upon both the walls and pillars that lined its path, with webs and damage from roots that had penetrated inside. Structurally, this place was without a doubt fairly compromised. Ood had no question just how long this place had remained locked away from the world above, even the air began to stagnate the further inside they traveled.

Roughly a quarter of a mile down the path was a large gate that blocked any further advancement. On it were various runic symbols that Ood recognized from centuries ago, from his time during the High Republic. Depictions of Jedi Guardians and Sentinels, the Coruscant Temple, and relics that were once on Starlight Beacon. Slowly he stepped closer and placed his rooted hand upon the door.

“What do you think?” the lead guard that stood at his side asked. Ood contemplated for a moment as he continued to examine everything that was there. Out of the corner of his eye, he saw unusual crevices that did not quite match up with areas that were damaged. They were far too similar in design to each other.“I think..” he started to respond as he extended his roots from his arms, inserting small tips into the crevices. A click came from one of them, followed by a second and a third. “..this might be simpler than anyone suspected.”

Taldryan Republic: Unsealing The Ruins is our next event, beginning this Friday, April 10th, and running until May 10th. The competitions center around the participants deciding what is found within the ruins beneath the Jedi Waystation. With the Taldryan Republic’s forces spread across the system, Lady Second Cassandra Oriana Taldrya and Lord Third Ood Bnar came up with a solution: offer a piece of Interitus Cairn up to each of the Clans in exchange for sending their best and brightest to help delve the ruins. That's right, this event will be Brotherhood-wide! Follow the link, check it out, and have fun!

There are just under two weeks remaining for Taldryan Republic: Isolation, a 3 month long fiction competition with prompts focusing on different conflicts within the Caelus System. As of writing this report there are only 3 submissions, but there is still more than enough time to participate!

Gatekeeper Protocol, our long-running competition to award our most active member with the Scion’s Bryar Lightsword , is halfway through! Our wonderful Magistrate Jenni has done all the hard work to keep track of everyone’s progress, which you can see below. Currently Zuza is out in front, with Erinyes in 2nd and Centam close behind in 3rd. Never fear, there is still plenty of time for this order to change! Just get out there and do the things! As a reminder, no subscription to the competition is necessary. All activity of members is tracked already!
