Regent Report #13: Post-Great Jedi War Goodies!

Noobis Regent

Hello everyone,

Welcome to my post-Great Jedi War Report! We've got a lot of things to cover, so strap in; post-Great Jedi War rewards, staff changes, etc.

Regent Staff Updates

First and foremost, thank you to everyone who applied for the recently posted Magistrate to the Regent position. There were some really solid applicants, and it was a pretty tough choice. After much deliberation throughout the application period on some really solid applicants, I’ve decided to bring back Teebu Nyierre for another term. Teebu was an excellent addition to the Regent Staff last time, helping hammer out Armor Upgrades, and I expect to see great things from his term. I’ve also decided to bring on Alethia Archenskova (or Arch, as he’s better known) to help out, and work on some choice stuff we discussed that’ll require his expertise as a former Combat Master.

With the arrival of two new Magistrates, we have two departures. Bentre Sadow’s time on the staff has come to an end, and he left us effective yesterday night. Bentre was a fine addition to the staff, and did a lot of our proof-reading and a lot of quality-of-life work. He’ll be missed by all of us. In addition, after some discussion with Slagar (also known as Selika Roh) we’ve come to the same conclusion that a permanent Magistrate position isn’t necessary at this time. Slagar has decided to re-focus his efforts onto new and exciting prospects within the club, and I’m pretty excited myself to see what comes of it.

I am however extending Magistrate terms to twelve (12) months so that staffers will have an opportunity to see the whole breadth of what we do on the Regent Staff and not just one portion. Often, we only complete a single major project in a six month term, so staffers as a result are missing out on other points of interest and the full scope of what we do. Korvis and Teebu will both serve a total of twelve months, but Arch has elected to only serve six to start.

Post-Great Jedi War Rewards

Every participant in the Great Jedi War will receive a special accessory, the Pendant of Ascension. This will be granted within the next couple days, once the main competition is closed and James has time to do bulk awarding.

I've broken down each clan's rewards below; credit reward, clan fleet reward, and planetary asset reward. The planetary asset reward is a special, one time reward created in conjunction with each clan summit that (basically) turns that nasty crystal asteroid that struck each clan's dominion into something cool and awesome, because in Idris' words, "space magic". All of the changes you’re about to read have already been implemented prior to posting this report, so check you clan's possession tabs for the deets!

Credit Rewards

Like the last Great Jedi War, clans earn a set amount of credits for their placement in the event, with an additional set amount of credits based on their placement points throughout all three phases to provide a total credit grant.

Credit Grants

Clan Arcona Possession Rewards

Clan Fleet Upgrade Reward

Ascendant Null-Burst Projector
An Ascendant Null-Burst Projector has been installed at the fore of this capital ship, allowing it to fire a pocket of negative energy at an enemy ship that does little damage but is capable of disorientating or in some cases incapacitating the target vessel’s crew for low-resistance boarding. It can also be used to create an opening to flee the battlefield.

Planetary Asset Reward

Clan Naga Sadow Possession Rewards

Clan Fleet Upgrade Reward

Ascendant Composite Beam Cannon
An Ascendant Composite Beam Cannon has been installed at the fore of this capital ship, firing a coherent beam of energy powered by ascendant crystals that quickly disperses regular heavy shielding with a single hit. After a long recharge rate, the vessel may fire a second charge that does large amounts of damage to an enemy capital ship.

Planetary Asset Reward

Urias Gate
The Urias Gate is a great, round gateway that has been built in a style reminiscent of the stonework of ancient Massassi ruins. The main ring iis lined along the inside of the gateway with purified ascendant crystals recovered from the ascendant crystal asteroid that hit Sepros in 40 ABY. The gate itself is inscribed with imagery attributable to ancient Sith and to the legacies of Urias Orian and Naga Sadow. A larger, outer ring encircles the inner ring, with triangular projections arrayed from the inner ring which point to and overlap with the outer ring. These projections are adorned with an additional weave of purified ascendant crystal. By harnessing a combination of ancient Sith magics and the purified crystals, individuals who are linked to the artifact by a specific rite are able to utilize it. Activation of the Urias Gate allows travel between the gate to a point in the Orian System focused upon by the individual who first activated the gate. Once concentration is broken, the gate itself will remain active for thirty seconds before the aperture in spacetime closes.

Clan Odan-Urr Possession Rewards

Clan Fleet Upgrade Reward

Ascendant Crystal Engine Array
The engine array on this vessel has been replaced with an Ascendant Crystal Engine Array, increasing the durability and protection of the engines by a considerable amount while also increasing their output to an additional half of the ship’s original engine output specifications.

Planetary Asset Reward

Clan Plagueis Possession Rewards

Clan Fleet Upgrade Reward

Ascendant Missile Retrofit
An Ascendant Missile retrofit has been performed on this capital ship, swapping all non-ion weapons on this capital ship such as turbolasers and traditional missile launchers with missile launchers tailored to fire ascendant missiles. These missiles bypass standard shields, and do increased damage compared to diamond-boron missiles.

Clan Scholae Palatinae Possession Rewards

Clan Fleet Upgrade Reward

Ascendant Crystal Turbolasers
The turbolasers on this capital ship have been swapped with Ascendant Crystal Turbolasers, which are considerably stronger than standard turbolaser weaponry but are not as powerful as the Severian Principate’s Advanced Kyber-Powered Turbolasers. They have increased damage compared to traditional turbolaser weaponry.

Planetary Asset Reward

Imperial Strategic Armed Laser Array Citadel
The Imperial Strategic Armed Laser Array Citadel space station (or SARLAC) is a 3,000-meter diameter Military Station designed with superior defensive capabilities, making use of purified ascendant crystal based technology for its primary armament. It is hexagonal in shape and at the core of the station is a massive focused ascendant crystal laser matrix, which is capable of shredding and destroying destroyer sized vessels that pass through it. It is also armed with numerous turbolasers, ion cannons, gravity well projectors, and tractor beams. It has shielding and hull strength similar to a destroyer class ship, as well as space for up to ten squadrons of starfighters.

Armament
150 heavy turbolaser batteries
50 ion cannon batteries
75 point defense lasers
30 tractor beams
50 warhead launchers
6 gravity well projectors
1 focused ascendant crystal laser matrix

Clan Taldryan Possession Rewards

Clan Fleet Upgrade Reward

Ascendant Sensor Suite
The sensor systems on this capital ship have been augmented with an Ascendant Sensor Suite, allowing long-range tracking and detection of ascendant crystals, crystal ascendants, and any weapons or equipment that has been infused with ascendant crystals with pinpoint accuracy within two parsecs.

Planetary Asset Reward

Kasiya Mothercrystal Shield Generator
Created from purified ascendant crystal taken from the asteroid that struck Kasiya in 40 ABY, the Kasiya Mothercrystal Shield Generator is a large chunk of purified ascendant crystal housed inside a special emitter and amplification chamber. When the chamber is activated, It projects a bubble-shaped shield that is nearly impenetrable to bombardment or entry, and is large enough to envelop an entire moon.

Clan Vizsla Possession Rewards

Clan Fleet Upgrade Reward

Ascendant Crystal Nullification System An Ascendant Crystal Nullification System reactor has been installed on this capital ship that creates a burst of nullification energy aboard, completely disabling crystal ascendants and ascendant weaponry inside the vessel as long as the reactor is actively powered up. In addition, damage caused by ascendant capital ship weapons such as ascendant turbolasers and ascendant missiles is reduced.

Planetary Asset Reward

Ion Pulse-Cannon
The Ion Pulse-Cannon is a large ion cannon originally developed by the Confederacy of Independent Systems. Through additional research and experiments it has been adapted to and infused with purified ascendant crystals. It fires a large circular energy blast that can disable the power systems of an entire fleet. The purified ascendant crystals allow for a faster rate of fire and longer range allowing it to be fired from a planet's surface.

These credit, clan fleet upgrade, and planetary asset rewards have already been distributed to the clans.

Capital Booster Release

Booster Release #3: Capital

Surprise! Over literally a two day span, a secret surprise booster release was put together for the clans specifically, for additional ways to spend their hard-earned credits from the vendetta. Most of these ships fill in gaps in existing offerings, and a few of them were member requests. You’ll notice that these include the first “Legends” capital ships to grace the system. We were incredibly selective about what Legends capital ships to bring to the system, but still feel confident about it.

You can view the individual item prototypes here, but to just list what’s being added to Arx Fleet Systems:

  • Cosinga-class Heavy Corvette
  • Crusader-class Corvette
  • Diamond-class Cruiser
  • Hynestian Star Cruiser
  • Imperial Escort Carrier
  • IR-3F-class Light Frigate
  • Nebula-class Star Destroyer
  • Razor-class Frigate
  • Starhawk-class Battleship Mark II
  • Tartan-class Patrol Cruiser
  • Tector-class Star Destroyer
  • Venator II-class Star Destroyer
  • Victory II-class Frigate
  • Victory II-class Star Destroyer

Shroud Syndicate Market

I opened the Shroud Syndicate Market a little earlier this year, showing off several new ascendant crystal themed items from the Children of Mortis, and two from Synergy Technologies (the Brotherhood's own weapon producer).

I'd like to note specifically the two Synergy items being offered: the CX-101 Crystal Blaster Rifle, and CX-102 Crystal Energy Projector. These items were entries to the Phase II: Ascendant Item competition, completed by Kris and Slagar. After reviewing their submissions, I found they were just too good to pass up as additions to the store. I originally stated when it opened that the Shroud Syndicate Market would close a week from the GJW XV results reveal, but I'm now pushing that back to a week from release of this report so people can play around with their hard-earned credits and make some decisions on whether - or what - to sacrifice to purchase some of the new offerings should they wish.

I like the link added to all the new stuff, very convenient :)

Oooo, a flock of Tartans for everyone!

Congrats to the new Magistrates!

I don't think a group of Tartans is called a flock, Selika. 🙄
