Scholae Palatinae Consul Report

Consul Report

Hello Clan Scholae Palatinae! I’m just never going to get tired of saying that.

This marks my first report as Consul. This comes following the fifty-nine Quaestor reports done. Monday saw my fourth year as Quaestor finished, and I couldn’t be more excited to start year five of leading Scholae Palatinae as Consul. The best days for Scholae Palatinae are still ahead of us!

To say there has been a lot of news this month, is a bit of an understatement. This report is going to be fairly lengthy so bear with me. We’ve got clanning, DC changes, GJW comments, and more. Oh my!

Intel: The Imperial News Net - The Imperial Clan

Behold, the only section of this report you guys really care about, the return of CSP. Yes, the day we worked so hard for has arrived. While it is reflected on the site, there will a period of transition as we make sure everything is going the way we want it. There have been further guidelines released by Mav about House Creation. These are going to affect us, and we want to do it right the first time. So I know people are excited to see houses and what not, its coming, we are talking about it, but we are going to make sure everything is perfect.

Now, because this reclanning occurred without the creation of a clanning proposal, I am going to shoot for something a bit different. It will be a planning and goals type document, but in a lot of ways it will still be a” proposal” of sorts. Not for Sarin and Mav, but for you guys. Scholae Palatinae has endured thanks to each of you, and I want to be fully upfront and transparent about what's ahead for us as a clan.

This and more details will be released in a “special” report down the line focusing solely on our Clan’s future. For the time being, continue to celebrate this big occasion. If you have your own thoughts and ideas, email them to Evant and myself. We are 100% focused on turning this new opportunity for the unit into the start of a golden age.

You can expect a few random emails from myself, or from Evant in the next few days as we release information. I will make sure it is all recapped and covered in the “special” report.

Intel: Brotherhood Wide - The Iron Throne and Dark Council

Okay now to take a very large step back and look at the entire club. Muz Ashen, after an incredibly long six years as Grand Master, has finally decided he deserves a break. His final GM Report covered his farewell address to the Brotherhood. It included some new robes, a lightsaber (which has some pretty unique blade colors), and some other goodies as thanks to the DC and unit leaders. I know for a lot of you, Muz is the only Grand Master you’ve ever known. There is no doubting Muz’s tremendous impact on this club. With Muz finally enjoying some down time, that means it is time for a new Grand Master to be appointed.

Because it isn’t a common occurrence I’m going to take a moment to break down how the appointment of a new Grand Master works. The is a club document known as the “covenant” for those of you who’ve never looked at it. It is basically the DJB’s constitution to ensure member rights, unbiased favoritism, etc. As such, there is a set way in which a new Grand Master is appointed. The retiring Grand Master (in this case Muz), nominates a successor. This triggers a 48 hour window of discussion and questioning by the electorate about the nominee. The electorate is all sitting DC Members, and the Leaders of all Independent Units. Following the 48 hour window, there is a vote. If a majority is in favor, we have a new Grand Master. If not, then the Justicar opens up nominations for the position and the process repeats until someone has a majority of votes.

In this instance, Muz has nominated the DGM, and former GM, Sarin (Pravus to you newer guys). This nomination was sent out Saturday night. Sarin sent out a brief message to the electorate. The electorate has asked him some questions, and we waited for the 48 hour window to close. It did so Monday night, and following that, there was a vote.

Sarin has obviously once again been confirmed, and is returning to the Iron Throne.

This of course has led to some position shuffling.

Stepping up to the position of Deputy Grand Master is Mav. Mav was as reported by Sarin “the automatic choice” for the position. Mav, like Sarin is a total BAMF and they will rock the heading of the club.

Aidan Kincaid, aka Shadow, has been selected to fill the position of VOICE. Shad is a fiction machine and as such, is an excellent choice for VOICE.

Along with this change on the DC, Taigikori has decided to step down as the Justicar. Sarin has already nominated Former Grand Master Jac. Like the position of GM, there is a 48 window before the vote.

Intel: Brotherhood Wide - The End of the War

The War is over. The final fiction of three been released to officially conclude the war. It has been a long two years of build up through the Crusade, Fading Light, and the GJW. We now stand, battered and tired, But we also stand tall and proud. The results are out and HSP finished THIRD!

Everyone made a stupendous effort here. Scholae Palatinae finished with a total of 379.65 Points. We had 30 different people participate, giving us the highest unique participation ratio in the club! There was a grand total of 176 submissions counted for HSP. You guys exceeded my wildest expectations with the War. It was an amazing effort.

Evant and I have worked our way through the participation records, both for the War, and the last few months, and have awarded people based on their efforts. The following earned Dark Crosses: Drake Starfire, Aule, Jr., Drun Syg, Uflsark, Arron Saylos, Arthadonis Kalderis, Calix Iberian, Chrome, and Dakari Palpatine. The following earned Anteian Crosses: Eetherbiail, Archangel, Ric “Blade” Hunter, Jacob Van Nowak, Landon Cruise, Anahorn Dempsey, and Mayda Ferium. Steel Cross were given to: Koryn Thraagus, Delak Krennel, and Lucyeth. Grand Crosses were given to: Xantros, Dante, and Evant.

There were several members award promotions during (using some of their participation credit) and following the War. Zagro Fenn was promoted to Krath Priest. Shadow Nighthunter was promoted to Sith Warrior. Landon Cruise, Anahorn Dempsey, and Ulfsark all made it to DJK. Aule Jr and Drake Starfire both were promoted to Jedi Hunter.

I still don’t have any word on the unit level awards. When I know what’s coming, and how many fleet points we have to spend, I will pass word along.

And because I am particularly proud of it, here is the video/documentary that Evant, Archangel, and myself made for the Multimedia portion of the war.

Intel: The Imperial News Net - The Elder One

Along side the flurry of events of this week, one of the biggest needs its own moment to be recognized.

Kell Palpatine Dante has ascended to the Elder ranks. It has been a long time coming, and incredibly well earned. This is the first Elder promotion Scholae Palatinae has had in a very very long time. I urge all of you to take a moment to read the reccomendations that were stealthily gathered for this moment.

Intel: Brotherhood Wide - A Multitude of Messages

Along with the ending of the GJW, there has been some inevitable changes to the club. We have a new Grand Master. Several Unit leaders have changed around. The summoning of Shai-Hulud, may his passing cleanse the world.

The CNS leadership has changed. Malik, and Macron both stepped down following the war. Locke (Former CON) and Cethgus, have been placed as the new CON and PCON respectively. Locke has opened up applications for QUA/AED of House Shar Dakhan.

Wally (Marick) has also has also stepped down as CON of Arcona. Replacing him as Consul of Arcona will be Atty (Atyiru). Like CNS, ARC has opened two positions for applications. In this case for QUA/AED of House Galeres.

In addition to these leadership positions being open, both the CON of Tarentum and CON of Odan-Urr have been opened for applications.

Aabsdu has released a new MAA Report. This report includes noting some wikipedia page updates to better reflect recent policy changes. It also includes some very good information on submitting requests for other members. It is a very good thing to look at if you ever want to see your self as a leader. Also, we frequently talk to members about adding their own recommendation for people in the club they’ve worked with. Knowing so basic recommendation writing is a good thing. Spoilers, there is also a handy SA Exam you can take to help you learn how to do it.

Also included in the MAA report is that Aabs and Evant are taking requests for the M:MAA positions. Aabs has set a 6 month life on this position (though those who have it, can re-apply and hold it for up to a year). MAA work is a very important aspect of the club, so if you are interested in it, get applications in by March 3rd.

The long awaited new Alchemy Guide has been released. This is a huge in character file that has been a long time coming. It is very impressive and insanely detailed as a in-character document. Even if you aren’t interested in “sith alchemy” you really should check it out just to appreciate the incredible amount of work that went into making it.

Finally I urge you all to read Sarin’s “Thirty-third” Grand Master Report. Not only is this where he made the big announcement for clanning, there is a lot of good information in there. This includes the soon to be unit alignment system, and for a chance for you to “play a muggle” as Sarin put it.

Intel: The Imperial News Net - The Forthcoming

Now that Evant and I have gotten the GJW awards squared away, it is time to turn to our future. March we are going to keep it as low key and stress free as possible for you guys. There will still be a bunch of competitions and what not going on, but don’t expect us to be shoving a huge house event in your face like any of the Looking Home Campaign. Speaking of, getting the wikipedia page up for the Wrath of Zhan is still on the soon to be done list. The GJW and now, being reclanned, has taken a priority to this.

As Evant mentioned in his briefing, April will see us start kicking up the next leg of our fictional Journey. We have a bunch of different ideas for where to go next. We also have lines in the water about getting a interunit feud/event/whatever coming later in summer, but nothing has been locked down yet.

For those of you still cooling down from the War, you can always check out Xantros’s Motivated Army set of competitions. You can also come yell at Evant on IRC. That is a LOT of fun.

Also because I’m a derp and easily distracted by shiny exploding things, I’ve missed naming the Q4 2014 Dark Paladin. For his excellent record of service, I name Zagro Fenn a Dark Paladin of Scholae Palatinae.

Okay, I think I’ve rattled on long enough here. It’s been a very full month, and I think everyone has earned a strong round of applause. Stay awesome Clan Scholae Palatinae.

Can I just say how awesome it is to read your report as Consul. I've never realised in my short time here in the DJB how intellectual Xen is! I'm quite jealous of you guys.

I squeed a little.

Congrats, Scholae. I heart you all.

Gratz CSP, you guys fought hard in the war and earned your clan status (especially if my dear friends Delak and Cruise are any indication). I'm looking forward to meeting your on the battlefield once again.

Nice report!

Nice going CSP!

Congrats to Kell and everyone else.

Well done to you all in the war, and congrats on your return to Clan status. You guys did yourselves proud.

Xen,

I've known you for a stupid long time now. I wanted to say congratulations on making it to the Consul's chair. You've deserved this for a really long time now. You've done an amazing job leading your unit, and I believe you are the best person to lead CSP into the future. Phoenix would be proud of you.
