Scholae Palatinae Proconsul Report - Event Announcement

Introduction

A wild Proconsul Report appeared! This report contains a lot of fictional development, and announces Daybreak. We've found the system we want to take over, we've assessed the viable strategies, now it's time to hit the ground.

Daybreak Opening Fiction

Kilometres away from the conflict, three black cloaks moved silently. The forest was illuminated only by flashes from the distant battle, like a constant lightning storm, but the three cloaked figures needed no light to see. Some were born to live in the darkness. Which three characters do you think this refers to? Read the fiction to find out!

The opening fiction for this event has been a huge collaborative event and I'm excited to be able to share it with you. In total, the fiction contains 16 player characters from across the clan. I'm thankful to everyone who volunteered their characters and the life this breathes into clan fictional updates.

For historical context, the introductory fiction for the main inhabitants of the system can be found below:

Daybreak Events

Daybreak: The parent competition containing all the competitions below and information about how the scoring works. The Long Fiction is worth the most points to placement, followed by poetry, short fictions and graphics, followed by flash games. Special for this competition: The single best quality submission across the whole event will count for double points!

Long Fiction This long fiction event sets a different assignment to each house. Imperium members are sent to the Nayama Dynasty as an ambassador for the clan, where you will be expected to prove yourself among its greatest warriors. Excidium members are sent to assassinate the mayor of Caelestis city.

Short Fiction Phase 1 The only spaceport of Caelestis City is critical to its survival. Scout the place, ideally obtain blueprints, find points of escape, observe guard patrols. Get as much information as possible for the clan to prepare an assault, without being seen.

Poetry Phase 1 Describe the emotions going through the people of Surik Island, as once a peaceful island owned by the TRF, they now find themselves in the centre of a three way war between Elaya, Meraxis and foreign invaders.

[Graphics Phase 1] - still pending, when approved, will appear on the parent comp page - Produce an image of anywhere on Seraph or Ragnath. This could be a city, a town, a village, a natural landscape, anywhere described on the wiki pages of (https://wiki.darkjedibrotherhood.com/view/Seraph) and (https://wiki.darkjedibrotherhood.com/view/Ragnath).

Flash Game Phase 1 A little bit of an unusual one this, to reflect the unusual culture of the TRF! See you far you can get in the Impossible Quiz! I strongly recommend print screening after every question as no final score is displayed upon loss.

Ask the Eli!

Firstly some great questions from Braecen:

What is the most important thing you feel CSP has accomplished since the New Year began?

I don't think any single thing since I joined in 2005 comes close to the development of the Caperion System and the Destruction of Cocytus. This opens up so many avenues for the clan in terms of our fictional development and I'm very excited in seeing where you as the membership take to the new environment.

What are you most excited for in the second half of 2017?

Moving to a new flat and starting a new job. But in DB terms, as in the above answer, I'm excited to see how everyone in the clan brings their characters into the new world of the Caperion System. We made the system the way it is to give the most interesting options for you to explore and develop through your competition entries and personal fiction.

If you could do one thing over again - from 2017, for CSP - what would it be?

We delayed this event for a long time because we thought a GJW was imminent. It was always supposed to take place afterwards. We allowed a series of delays to leave the clan without a major event, and fictionally stagnant, for a long period of time. If we could do things over again, I would have gone full speed ahead and scheduled this event for when it suits us, and then delayed the event if problems arose, rather than trying to plan around them. Which is basically what we're doing now, and why this event has been a bit thrown together on short notice.

Archangel asks: Why does Exeter have such a crap football team?

Because it has the national champions of rugby. Can't be good at everything!

Katyusha asks: Who's gonna win the war?

No spoilers!

Katyusha asks: Can we get a tank?

My favourite tanks are tankards of mead, beer, ale, or cider. However, the CSP Military does have plenty of tanks, and these can be found in the Army Wiki Page, but to summarise, we have 2-M Hover Tanks and walkers.

Alara asks: Where will Elincia make her homestead in the Caperion system? Why? What political party does she favor?

Elincia favours the United Corporations of Elaya (UCE). She's a scientist, and understands numbers. Finance is just numbers. She feels like she understands the world of the UCE and can play their game better than she can the other parties. OOC: The Nayama Dynasty is my favourite part of the new system.

Scarlet asks an interesting question: What do you like and don't like about the DJB?

I like the activities offered by the club. I think it's really unique in that respect, that such a diverse range of activities are provided, many different forms of fiction, poetry, graphics, gaming, the club covers it all and I think that's one of its greatest strengths.

Sometimes I feel like the club takes itself too seriously on occasion. We're all here to have fun, and sometimes I feel like too much focus on rules and regulations can detract from that in isolated incidents.

Calindra asks:

I love Kraft dinner with...

I feel like I'm missing a reference here. But I'm English, so a good cup of loose leaf earl grey tea. On that note, I conclude this report. Thanks for reading!

WOO!! So excited for this! :D

Really really good read, Elincia! Wonderful and exciting times ahead. :)

Great report. Excited to dive into the event!
