The datapad hit the table with a thunk. The light of the green display snapped off, leaving the office in near total darkness. Xen’Mordin sat back into his chair and closed his eyes. His mind worked over the multitude of issues facing him. Somewhere in the back of his mind was the pressuring thought that it was far to late to be up.

But how could he sleep when there was so much to address? Issues with the tribes on Antenora. Miners threatening a strike on Vassago. Stories of bizarre priests showing up on street corners throughout the system. And that didn’t even begin to cover the normal things effecting the system. And then of course came the responsibilities of his true calling. The Brotherhood. His home.

Xen would sigh from time to time, his body would burn from exhaustion, but he knew the simple truth of the situation. He loved every minute of it.

Xen’s head snapped up at the sound of the door to his office sliding open. The lights of the room went up illuminating it. It was morning, sleep had won out after all.

“Mmm, long night?” Xantros asked after momentarily looking up from his own datapad. Xen nodded and picked up his own to leaf through whatever new news had come in. Xen stretched out looking to focus in on another day, unable to shake the feeling something was just on the horizon. But he knew Scholae Palatinae would shoulder it and endure, just like they always did. And until whatever it was arrived, all he could do was his best. It had been a three years since he organized his shift in command and he wasn’t about to stop now.

Hello Scholae Palatinae! It is time for another report. You might note the short fluff fiction up above. Why is it there? Cause I could! Read it! Or Skip it and read the actual important stuff below!

Intel: Brotherhood Wide
I want to start off with the biggest news, the reclanning of Plagueis and Taldryan. As many of you are aware both units kicked some major ass in the Crusade, and along with the other factors that go into being clanned, they have moved up and on to join Arcona and Naga Sadow. It has been a while since a unit had been reclanned so this is fantastic news for them. Both units’ hard and determined work paid off big time. Reclanning is something all of us here in HSP have wanted to see for quite a while so lets keep up the hard work and hopefully before too long we will be able to stand tall as a clan once again!

This news came along side the 5 year anniversary of Muz Ashen stepping up as Grandmaster. 5 years is a long time in any leadership role, and doubly so for Grandmaster. He was awarded a Diamond Sword for his current efforts as GM and I just wanted to throw out my own congratulations for all the massive improvements and changes we’ve seen thanks to him so far.

As the club continues to grow and develop (even after all the many years it has been around) a Product Review Forum has opened allowing members to chime in with their own experiences and feelings on Star Wars related things. These range from books, to games to toys. Star Wars is everywhere and will continue to be everywhere with the coming movies. Since we all share a love for it, it hopefully will be a good way to see what other Star Wars related things are worth the time to check out. If you have reviews of your own to post from books and games please go do so. I know I’m always looking for new books to pick up and read, and your reviews here can help with that!

There has also been an update to how Clusters of Ice are awarded. Specifics can be found on the wiki page for it, but the basics is that ACC battles, Runons, and VOICE-Sponsored* fictions will now award these Clusters. The up coming Fiction Society has been mentioned in brief a few times by the VOICE, and these Clusters are sure to play a big part in it. Also don’t forget that while the ACC Beta is going, it is double Clusters awarded!

There has also been a change in what is “rewarded” to masters that help members reach DJK. A new scroll, Scroll of the Master, has been created to differentiate between helping members to DJK and recruiting them to the club.

Intel: Crusade Epilogue Event - Bosthirda
As mentioned last time, there is going to be several “epilogue” Crusade Events as we lead up to the GJW on Korriban. The first of these is no upon us. A run-on on Bosthirda has been announced. You have this next week to sign up in teams of 5-7. The run-on will span the 2 weeks of the 28th to March 16th.

For those of you thinking of signing up, please keep in mind you have to make three 250 word posts over the course of the week. It will be fast past and epic, but don’t sign up if you are just going to drop out on your team. What ever team places first in this event will “win” the planet for their unit, just like the full crusade rounds did. Also it is possible for a unit to sweep all three placings. Every unit is going to be participating in this, and many will have more than one team.

Also nova, and fleet points will be handed out.

So lets get cracking and get our teams signed up the 27th. Lets show that HSP still brings out the big guns. For the Empire!

Intel: The Imperial News Net - Member Highlights
I want to take a moment to give some shootouts to some of our stellar Journeymen who have been really pushing themselves lately on their way to Dark Jedi Knight.
Dark Jedi Knight Lucyeth has finished the last of the tasks set forth and made it! Massive Congratulations to our newest Knight, who still continues to be a major source of activity.
Guardian Brandon Tarsus has knocked out some super SA courses, Competition Participation, and is going to be having his own DJB wide competition coming up soon!
Arron Saylos has recently been promoted to Protector!
Black Eagle has also been recently promoted to Protector!
And finally our newest house member, Arthadonis Kalderis has already made it to the rank of Acolyte!

These Journeymen had been absolutely stellar the past few weeks so make sure to congratulate them all! They’ve earned it!

Intel: The Imperial News Net - Competition Information
Knife in the Dark: As a reminder this is one of two assassination competitions being run by Shadow. This one involves killing a made up NPC for the good of the house.
Assassination Fun: The second of Shadow’s two assassination competitions, this one instead focuses on choosing another member of the house to take out. Lots of possibility for some crazy antics and interesting systems of assassination.
Create-an-NPC: This one comes from Mav on behalf of the entire VOICE Staff. They need NPC characters to fill up needed parts in DJB Fictions. They need good character descriptions, histories, and the like to fill up some new Wiki pages that people can reference and use in the fiction stuff. Not only is it a good chance to snag some upper level crescents, but if yours is good you can see your NPC start popping up in things. They will also be awarding Dark Side Scrolls based on effort.
Balloons, Confetti, and Cake!: This one comes from me. As I am hitting the three year mark as QUA, you can think of this as a mock the QUA/roast the QUA type competition. Do it with a rage comic image (cause that makes it more consistent for all of you) and go wild.

Intel: The Imperial News Net - State of the Empire
Warning this is where I get a bit sentimental If you read the fluff fiction up above, you will have noticed at the end I mentioned three years as QUA. That is because today, the 23rd, is in fact my three year mark as your QUA. Over the last three years we’ve had our ups and downs, our wins and our losses. We’ve good members leave and new ones arrive. Given the fact no one here has tried to “overthrow” me, and Muz hasn’t gone and kicked my ass to the curb, I’m going to continue to operate under the assumption that I’ve been doing things at least moderately well.

It has been a learning experience, and I am far from perfect. There is also only so far a leader can take a unit. The real strength, the real merit of this house comes from you all. I am honored and privileged to work among such fantastic people. And it isn’t just the people in this house either. We can get bogged down with the clouse vs clouse vendettas and the like, but at the end of the day we are all still in the same club. I’m glad to have so many people I can call friends throughout the DJB.

For us as a house and as a club to survive, we have to continue to push ourselves, to go beyond what we thought we could do. Every loss is a victory if we strived together. In the ten years I’ve been a member of this club, there has always been people I could lean on, who would support and help me, not just with the things like participation, but with issues in my own personal life. I hope I can be seen as one of those people for you all as well.

To the older members of Scholae Palatinae, you’ve all been around the block many times here. You haven’t gotten to where you are by slacking off. By the efforts of each and everyone of you, HSP has survived to become what it is today. Even if you haven’t popped in for a while, please do, this house is still here. Your experience is a boon, not just to the house but to the entire club.

To the new members, you’ve joined a long standing unit of the DJB. Your excitement, efforts, new ideas and energy are the life of this entire club. We are glad to have you here to carve out your own piece of legacy in the Scholae Palatinae foundation. I hope you always feel like the people of this are are people you can turn to, no matter the issue.

To everyone, HSPer or not, I hope that you can feel that both HSP and myself are worthy of your time. That you are welcome to stop by at any time. In a club this size there are always going to be personalities that clash. But in any situation where those arise I hope you always feel I have put those thoughts aside.

I am very grateful to continue to work as a leader in this club. It has been a major part of my life for so long now, I can’t imagine not having it around. I promise to continue to push myself to deliver the best experience for you all here. I do this for you all. For my friends. For my family. And of course for the Empire.

So what are we looking at to keep 2014 a super awesome year for Scholae Palatinae? Well for starters, we obviously are gearing up for the GJW in the summer. I know I will work my hardest to participate in everything, and make sure everyone knows every single thing they could be participating in for it. Lets roll out as the awesome team we are and hit it hard. Lets win that First Place we all so badly want to get.

We are going to be continuing the lower key focused house event The Looking Home Campaign, picking up right after this first crusade epilogue chapter ends. We this round will be focusing in on Antenora, with an exciting fiction line planned out by our RM Koryn. Then we will continue the fun with Caina and cap it off with a run on Judecca. Each of the worlds in our system have pretty major and different histories so as we explore them, we hope to leave an impact created by you the members. But thats not all. We are hoping to finally have another Feud run. These are always fun as you don’t have to worry about all the units of the club bearing down on you. And while it is, yes a competition between units, don’t forget to spend some time to get to know other people. I also hope to run a larger scale house event sometime this fall.

We also have several different projects in the works for different kinds of activities and neat bonuses to keep you all going. I personally am hoping to have an even bigger open door policy and do the best I can to lead by example. If you ever have an idea, concern, suggestion, or need help on something I am always available. And if you ever feel like I’m doing something overly stupid please feel free to call me out on it. Arch is all ready a pro in this aspect.

I can’t promise winning vendettas or reclanning. I can’t promise that any of my ideas will work out well. But I can promise I will continue to work my hardest, and do everything I can to make this year a fun and epic experience for you guys. I hope this year will end up the best one yet.
