Introduction

Hello, Shadow Gate. I apologize that this first report is coming out at a weird time. Usually they’d be at the end of the month; so you’re getting two in June!

Otherwise, hello! As you know already I’m Rhiann Baenre and I’ve hopped over here from Apex Brigade to lead you guys. I know I’ve been a bit quiet the last week but that’s going to change. Had to settle in, set some stuff up and now that that’s mostly taken care of, you’ll hear more from me.

Also I promise there will be a proper header next month. Probably new dividers too.

Fiction (Written by our lovely Sergeant)

“No, Cel. I don’t karking care that you are now the whatever of Arcona, you can just kiss my frang.” K’tana’s voice was low and threatening, her lekku twitched in aggravation as she turned her back to the Quaestor.

“K’tana, please. You have already done this before, remember?” The Obelisk knew better than to touch the volatile woman when she was like this, but as he approached, he outstretched his hand and held it close to her in a pleading manner.

“Yeah. That worked out just freen-y. All of Dark Forge collapsed.” Her green eyes flashed angrily at her friend and she moved away from his hand.

“K’tana. Koekie. That wasn’t your fault. You know this. Please. We...I, I need your help.” At this, K’tana turned to face the Quaestor, her brow furrowed and her lips drew into a pout.

“Fine. But you owe me. You owe me big time for this.” The Twi’lek to grin wickedly as she walked towards the Gate Warden’s office, completely missing the slight worried frown that crossed the Quaestor’s features.

The Priestess pulled open the door and ran face first into the chest of a large, Human male.

“What the-” The man put his palms against K’tana’s shoulders and stepped back, putting the Twi’lek at arms length. When her shocked green gaze met his confused eyes, the two of them stopped at stared at each other uncomfortably.

“Uh. You wanna move?” the Priestess piped up when she became sufficiently unnerved by the Human’s blue eyed stare and as her fingers came in a twitching manner, he removed his hands abruptly from her.

“Are you the new Sergeant?” the man was blunt and to the point. K’tana did not like it.

“Yeah, whatever. Will you take your massive frame out of my karking way now? Or do I have to move you?” Her green eyes took on a dangerous look as she smirked at him.

The man straightened his back and moved to the side to show K’tana an empty table. The Priestess heaved an exasperated sigh and she flopped face first onto the desk.

“Madam?”

“Ugh! Gross! Don’t call me that!” The Twi’lek shrieked, pulling off of the desk and spinning around to stare in horror at the man.

As the Twi’lek’s wail echoed out into the hall Celevon came through the door. His mercurial gaze swept across the room and took in the sight of the Human’s startled face and the Twi’lek flailing her arms.

“K’tana, calm down. Mirus, glad to see you found your way.” Celevon gave a curt nod to the Juggernaut as he turned his back to the Twi’lek. “Please let Rhiann know that her Sergeant has arrived and will be awaiting orders. You may go.”

K’tana cocked to her head to the side as she walked over towards the Shadicar. Smiling, he turned to face her.

“Who the kark was that?” she asked before he had a chance to speak. “And is Rhiann nice?”

Celevon just smirked as he walked over and shut the door. “Could I interest you in a smoke while we wait?”

Shadow Gate News

Well, other than the leadership changes, there’s not too much going on at this very moment. There will be discussions and competitions coming in July, so watch out for them! We want you guys to have say and interest in where we can take Shadow Gate fictionally and fit them more into Arcona’s functioning society, so keep an eye on your inboxes for stuff coming soon.

K’tana’s Corner

Hello beloved Shadow Gate!

As your new BTS, I figured I should strike up a conversation. It seems as I know most of you pretty well, which means you know me- probably more then either of us would like. ;P

However, there are a couple of you that I don't know weird secrets about. That really doesn't need to change, but I would like to know one thing about all of you.

What is your favorite activity in the DB? What kinds of things do YOU go out of your way to do? A well written fiction prompt, fun flash games, graphics or collaborations with other people and characters?

Let us know a little bit about you and what you like. This will help us in the future to think of you when we design competitions.

Upcoming Projects/Things to Do

With me new to the Battleteam, I’d like to throw some projects out among you guys. Some may not be urgent or require us waiting until the future, but the ideas are out there!

Wiki Updating

I’ve taken a look at the Shadow Gate wiki page and it could probably use some fluff and some updating. While this isn’t terribly important and probably won't be until we do some stuff fictionally, it’s still going to be shoved onto here as a reminder.

Competitions

Competitions! These are always great things to have going. Since we’d like to help you guys do more character development and Battleteam development, we’d love to see some ideas for competitions. What do you guys like doing? I’ll be starting an email chain some time after this report and would love to hear what you’re looking to do. So don’t be shy and speak your minds!

I love writing the awards section. Especially when it’s full of crescents. You guys are amazing and we want you to keep up the great work!
