INTRO

Hello again! I firstly want to apologize for my absence. It was a necessary but VERY enjoyable experience. Of course, there were high and low points, The lowest being minesweeping with and without a minesweeper. Without a minesweeper literally means poking the ground in front of you with a stick and crawling forward slowly. Considering it was mid-June in Missouri, It was pretty hot. The high point being as we built a float bridge across a lake, right after lunch we would jump in to cool off.

Anyways, I’m back now and ready to go.

COMPETITIONS

I’m hoping to incite some activity from TA with our TA specific comps which I'll take about in the Final Words section. If you’re aspiring to have a position or going for the Dark Paladin, The primary way of showing you deserve consideration is activity. It’s next to impossible to justify awards, promotions, and leadership roles to those who don’t at least participate in a competition once in a while.

I’ll actually start something new this month. I’ll break down the competition by difficulty and an estimate of how long it should take to get a submission and the overall level of effort that needs to be put in. Hopefully, this will help you all manage your time a little easier and if you’re short on time you can focus o the easy comps or if your looking for a challenge, maybe take a peek at the harder comps. NOTE: These breakdowns are HIGHLY subjective. Even if you aren’t interested in the more difficult ones, take a look and see if it sparks some interest. If it doesn’t, just move along

EASY

• You Done Fracking up Ayayron? - a simple fiction comp. No need to think too deeply about the plot, just describe how your character is getting imprisoned and for what crime. Be creative funny or serious. Just enjoy writing it :D

• Operation Spark - This one is something that intrigues me. I personally enjoy writing about a failed mission more so than a successful one because the emotions and reactions are completely different and remind us that we aren’t necessarily invincible overpowered supervillains. This one is you writing about a failed assassination attempt against Emperor Palpatine. No need to tie it into the DJB, do what you wish.

• Jeezball Blowout - FLASHGAME!!!! Need I say more?

• Gaming Test: Fortnite - Fortnite has been all the rage in the past year and this is your opportunity to provide some support to our gaming branch of the DJB and give input as to the supportability of the game in the DJB,

• 2018 Monthly Gaming Challenge July - This is a container holding four comps. There is a flash game and a mobile game which should be simple enough. There is also Hearthstone and Overwatch for those who have access to them.

AVERAGE

• GPRHX: Vigilantism - An interesting graphics comp that has you creating a superhero costume in addition to your signature mask. NO WOOKIE SUPER HEROES ALLOWED.

• Objectives - another 500 word fiction comp but this may take a bit more words than that if you want a better fleshed out story. Basically, you’re sent to scout out a known enemy, locate and report and then eliminate the target. Attach it to our team’s story if you want. The important part is that you are enjoying writing the story.

HARD (More like time consuming but I couldn’t find a better word)

• I am your nightmare - Write a 500 word story on a nightmare your character has. I put this one in the hard one because It seems this one should be very descriptive to give the reader the most vivid description of the nightmare. If you’re ready to put in the time necessary to make this a work of art, then I suggest you get on it.

• Words and War - Scholae Palatinae continue to expand their territory on Ragnath. One half heads north, to Maqor, marching on the last Meraxis military establishment on the continent. The other head to the Far East, to Dammalus, to subvert the native people that worship The Force and its users.

This is a major move to secure the moon from our enemies and our first attempt to ensure that the people of the TRF won't be a problem. MAKE YOUR MARK!!! This is the way to do it, you want a major role in the fiction of our clan, this is how you do it. talk to me if you need help or someone to bounce ideas off of for the fictions. Great way to become a better writer. some of these competitions end tomorrow while the rest end on the 30th (RO ends on the 28th)

There are ten comps total and of those, there are 3 flash games and puzzles. If you do anything, at least do those three and support the clan. Every little bit counts. :D

One last thing on competitions. When you go to the competition page, there is a tab on top that says Long-running/Series. Check in there from time to time cause there's a lot of stuff there that gets overlooked. Usually, pretty simple gaming competitions that last over the course of a few months.

FINAL WORDS

To those that I have given a project to work on, I’ll check in with you all soon and hopefully, if you guys need help getting them going, I’ll try and jump start them. I want to apologize again for my absence. Trying to get back into the swings of things now. As for when the TA comps will start, I want to apologize again. I should be on top of it but I wasn’t. I’ll announce the dates as soon as I am sure the dates won’t interfere with any other clan, House, or DJB events. I will, however, submit the ship naming comp for the TA fleet tomorrow so Wednesday or Thursday, expect to see it on the competition list. I, unfortunately, fell flat on my face on that one as well considering I told you that it would be out in July before I left.

This is a little random but I will do it every report now just because I want to. So if you don’t know, I am a MAJOR Raiders fan and the Raiders are doing wonderfully. Derek seems to be clicking with Gruden and our coaching staff as a whole seems like an upgrade. Martavis Bryant was rumored to be suspended by the reports were incorrect. Khalil Mack is still holding out so hopefully, he will get the contract he deserves before training camp. Our defense should be much improved which hopefully means back to form for the 2018 Raiders.
