Tacitus Athanasius Report #8

Alara walked towards her sister’s office. The sweat on her brow and the quick pulse of her heart betrayed her nervousness.

Oh Alara, you’re so foolish. Get over yourself. There is peace for now. Just let go of what happened.

It had been weeks since she and Shadow battled in the woods of Mykr. She survived the fight thanks to her beloved Ruping, Forren. He was almost full grown now, and he managed to carry part of her weight back to their shuttlecraft. When she arrived back home on Judecca, Shadow allowed her presence simply because she was able to survive their battle. The words of Shadow echoed into Alara’s ears as she crossed the corridor.

“If you survived that fight on Myrkr, then it is evident the Force is not finished with you yet. However, if you think you can waltz back into this place like nothing happened, you’re wrong. You’re my Sergeant. Nothing else.”

Alara gulped. She looked into her reflection at the mirror to the right of her sister’s office. She stared into her eyes. A flicker of fire danced within her pupils once more. A solemn mask crept upon her face so as to conceal her nervousness. She turned to the door to found her sister sitting at her desk. “You summoned me, Battle Team Leader.”

“Aye. That I did. Sit down.” Shadow looked up at her sister from behind her desk, then nodded towards a chair. Alara obeyed her sister immediately and took a seat.

“It seems as though we have few numbers in Tacitus Athanasius.”

“Yes, however I do think that we are growing well within the numbers we have. Everyone is steadily progressing. Though we may be making few kills, we are advancing in the kills we are making.” Alara pointed out.

“You’re right, sister. However I believe that we need to make things more challenging for our assassins. They need to prove their strength to us. Especially since we are few in number. Whatever many assassins we have, they must earn their right to be within the halls of our Silent Citadel.” Shadow stood up, placing her hands upon the desk.

“I agree. What are your orders?” Alara stood up, honoring the Leader’s stance. She placed her hands at her side, ready to hear what her sister had to say.

“The latest assassinations have been good. We haven’t had many, but our Quaestor is impressed with our advances we are making towards the enemy. However in this time of silence of orders, we must train and prepare for our next battle move.” Shadow paused for a moment, scanned the bookshelf to the left of her desk, and pulled a book from it’s place. She scanned the pages and laid the book flat upon an illustrated picture. “We will be sending our assassins each to Dathomir. They need to face the Nightsisters there.” Shadow pointed towards the Nightsister’s description.

“Ahh. An excellent idea. You were there on Dathomir yourself, were you not?” Alara fact-checked herself.

“Aye, but here’s the trick:the assassins cannot fight with weapons there. I’m challenging them to a battle the Nightsisters with only the Force. A battle against the mind. Our assassins are powerful with vibrosword, artillery, and saber alike, but what of their minds? Let’s put their minds to the test…” Shadow slightly smirked.

Alara nodded, smirking as well, “I will go to notify the others. For this shall be a battle they will never forget.”

Introduction

Welcome to the October Battle Team Report! Now let’s get to it!

News

Operation Starfall is underway within Scholae Palatinae! With the Clan seeking to get those resources, there’s gonna be a jolly-good-of-a-fight awaiting all of us! You know what’s expected of you. Go out and have fun! Get those entries in, and get those shinies!

Now, as to the fiction above, which was written by Alara herself. Alara and I have been doing some planning to get something big for all of ya crazy and amazing people. See, Tacitus Athanasius isn’t what it is without its members. Though we are more of a shadow rumor to many others, we ourselves have a legacy to leave for those who join our brotherhood in the future. That, and I wish to put all of you to the test for some character development by sending you to Dathomir to face some witches. After all, this is the Halloween month. Who wouldn’t want to face some witches? At the same time, I’m giving you five competitions that focus on your legacy within TA. Let me go over what Alara and I have for you.

So there ya have it, ladies and gentleman. The comps themselves have more details of course. Now, these comps are lasting three months, so they’ll be ending on January 6th of the new year. This is your chance to make your character shine, and I really mean that. Alara and I have a plan to compile all of your entries (with your permission of course, in which we’ll send an email out) into a PDF or website which will be the “Hall of Memories” within the Silent Citadel. Here is where many to come will be able to see what legacy you’ve left behind. This is all for you to show off. Why? Because Alara and I appreciate all of you, and we want all of TA to remember the people that made it great.

Recognitions and Awards

It’s that time again, ladies and gents! Let’s get to it!

  • Zehsaa Hysh- Received 2 Clusters of Graphite
  • Arron Saylos- elevated to Inquisitor rank V: Inquisitor

Congrats you two!

Announcements and Reminders

As stated earlier, Alara and I have some amazing comps for you, and Starfall is in action! I also want to remind you that the three comps I’ve had out for a while are ending tomorrow. They’re easy quickies. Two are graphic comps that I’ve only received one entry for, and another is a fiction involving a mission to get rid of some Silver Hand cultists on our turf.

If you’d like an extension, let me know. I want to be sure everyone has a chance to participate.

Conclusion

A lot is going on for both the Clan and our Battle Team where huge character and unit development will be occurring. This is your time to shine, my friends. Get out there and make us all proud!

“The sharpest blades for the darkest nights”
