Urgent Caelus System News!

Chancellor Ky'Lian has disappeared after a confrontation with Clan Taldryan on Perune's Moon of Elysia. Details of the confrontation are few, but what we do know is that the now former Chancellor of the Caelus System betrayed the people she was supposed to protect, and is nowhere to be found. An emergency election had been called in order to nominate a new leader for the Caelus System in the wake of this disaster, and the nominees are as follows;

Yorinobu Arasaka

He is the former Governor of Kasiya under Ky'Lian's regime before Clan Taldryan took over the moon. Rumors persist of his involvement of building a navy behind the scenes to attack Taldryan itself, but Yorinobu insists these are merely slander and lies from the opposition. If elected, he promises a firmer hand in dealing with Clan Taldryan, and a stop to the perpetual fear of living next to this lowly Clan of the Brotherhood. Rumors flourish regarding Yorinobu's status as a user of the Force, though no concrete evidence has yet come to light of such claims, and the former Governor, again, proclaims these as propaganda from the opposition.

Jorm Na'trej

A wildcard entrepreneur who first made his presence known during the battle for Port Kasiya, where he by all appearances acted independently from, but tentatively in support of the Taldryanites by dragging Yorinobu's top general into a showdown surpassing cinematic extravagance, just to turn on Appius and widely broadcast the Thousand Years Of Pain suffered by the Consul. He promises to "make fear obsolete" and to "properly exorcise the flaws from Chyron's democracy." He is a known Force User, but while rumors about criminal involvements persist, so far nobody has stepped up to offer any proof and he's not precluded from the nomination.

Who will win is up to YOU, the people of the Caelus System. Both candidates will answer a series of questions asked by the public in interviews before the final vote. You are heavily encouraged to place your questions into the document below. These questions will be asked in a few days.

Introduction

Hello, everyone! Welcome to the next edition of the Taldryan Consul report. I am your Zappy Con, and no doubt you are all wondering what this all is above this bit of text you are reading right now. With the Orth Prison break behind us, and the Investigation of Elysia concluded (resulting in Ky'Lian trying to doom us all and the entire Caelus System becoming aware of it.) The Caelus System has begun an emergency election to nominate a new Chancellor. The two candidates are our Clan's favourite madman, Jorm, and Yorinobu, who you may remember from the Invasion of Port Kasiya event we did towards the end of last year.

This kicks off the next phase of our Clan Storyline where a new Chancellor is elected. This will lead to one last big event likely some time after the next Vendetta before we move onto the next major story.

Investigation of Elysia Results!

The results from the Investigation of Elysia competitions are in! We had 10 participants for this one, so thank you to everyone that took the time to take part!

However, there is a top 4, and those are;

Raistline was first overall, Tracinya was second, Dasha was third, and Crysenia was fourth. Congratulations to you all!

Tal Keyboards Go Brr

The Investigation of Elysia had another RP running throughout the mini-event itself hosted by our very own puntable Pecan, Teebu!

The total word counts for the event are as follows;

• Teebu - 21111 words

• Appius - 7150 words

• Zxyl - 7798 words (The Regent joined us for this one!)

• Tracinya - 4497 words

• Dasha - 1686 words

• Cryo - 1841 words

• Aylin - 2214 words

• Raist - 585 words

In total 46,882 words were written. That is awesome, and thank you all so much for taking part! It's amazing to see Taldryan's RP scene flourish the way that it has!

Taldryan Artifacts

So, many of you will likely remember the creation of Taldryan's artifacts and the discussions around them. We were allowed to create three, and Justinios came up with the idea of perhaps reviving old in-character titles to be associated with them. These artifacts are created for YOU to be able to use.

They are;

• The Cylinder of Taldryae

The Cylinder of Taldryae is a specialized and gold-plated code cylinder Accessory, alchemically enhanced with the Clan Taldryan emblem in ruby-red. It is unusually light in weight and can easily be concealed, though it it radiates a dark aura. It lacks waterproofing, and prolonged exposure to water can render the cylinder inert for a short time. Taldryan legends say those who hold the cylinder for long periods of time turn bloodthirsty and hungry for combat, leading to their eventual demise. It grants command authority of the Cohors Praetoria Taldryae military task force to whoever holds it, a unit hand-picked by the Consul themself. The task force is undying in their loyalty, and will only recognize the bearer of this code cylinder. The Cylinder of Taldryae is awarded by the Consul to the designated Warbringer, a member recognized for their outstanding military achievements. Should anyone who is not the acting Warbringer attempt to use the cylinder, a painful and potentially lethal electric shock created by the Sith Alchemy used on this item will attack the holder.

This artifact is held by Taldryan's Warbringer, the first of which is Zentru’la.

• The Blood Bond Cauldron

The Blood Bond Cauldron is a large metallic pot inscribed with various runes, colored a blood-red. It is made of alchemically enhanced durasteel, and is used by Force-sensitive and non-Force-sensitive members alike by offering a drop of blood into the liquid within that bubbles red in response. A brotherhood within a Brotherhood in artifact form, once bonded with the cauldron an empathetic link is created that reaches on a planetary scale allowing the one who possesses it to determine the health of Clan Taldryan members. The inscriptions on the cauldron glow and rise in temperature when a member is under duress. Force-imbued wood is required to boil the blood inside the cauldron which can only be obtained from the jungles surrounding the Taldryan Citadel on Ostara. The Blood Bond Cauldron is awarded by the Consul to whoever holds the title of Taldryan Loremaster, with knowledge of the ritual passed down from Loremaster to Loremaster and kept a closely guarded secret.

This artifact is held by tbe revived Taldryan Loremaster (formerly Lorekeeper), the first of which in its revival is Justinios.

• The Scion Bryar Lightsword

The Scions Bryar Lightsword is an elegantly hand-crafted Lightsaber Pistol created by former Consul Rian Taldrya. The main body strongly resembles that of a Bryar Pistol, with a lightsaber emitter on the topside of the weapon. The blaster mode is accurate at medium ranges, and can charge up and fire a longer burst like a regular Bryar Pistol. Components placed within the custom casing allow the weapon to create a lightsaber blade through the top emitter while the midsection and barrel fold downward. The Scions Bryar Lightsword is awarded by the Consul to the designated Gatekeeper, and is a true example of how the Gatekeeper diversifies not only their attacks but protection of Clan Taldryan as well.

This artifact is held by the newly revived Taldryan Gatekeeper, the first of which in its new revival is Ben.

That's All Well And Good, Zappy, But How Do I Earn Them?

I'm so glad you asked! Basically, every quarter when the Taldryan Summit does its award review, we will also look at the members who have been the most active in competitions, events, earning clusters etc etc. Every little bit of activity you get earns you a set amount of points depending on what the activity in question is. For example, doing a regular comp will net you 15 points, but a graphics comp will net you 30 because of the extra effort involved. It is important to note that placements DO NOT matter here. This is about activity, not who is the best artist, gamer, writer etc etc. This is to value you showing up, and doing the things.

So, the member in first place when we do our evaluation will get their pick of artifact, the member in second selects from the remaining two artifacts, and the 3rd placed member takes whatever remains.

The next time the summit will do its review is I April, so you have plenty of time to be active and acquire your favourite of the three!

New Ektrosis Quaestor

I'm fairly sure you all know about this, but I'm going to make the announcement anyways! Crysenia has moved up from Aedile to Quaestor of House Ektrosis! Congratulations to her!

Project Vos

OK, so let's have a serious talk for a moment about the Auxiliary Divisions, shall we?

The idea for the Auxiliary Divisions was to expand the Clan's inner workings and give members and their characters fictional roles and objectives within the Clan. They were to be led by regular members, and were supposed to be used to drive forward activity.

The thing is, a lot of the time, at least currently, they tend to be forgotten about. Some of them get references every now and then, but most of them don't usually see the light of day.

What is apparent to me as of late is that members' characters have different goals and objectives within the Clan. Zentru’la, for example, has his Vornskr Battalion Mercenary group that treat Taldryan as a priority client. Jorm has the Ember Swarm, his own bar, and is now running for Chancellor of the Caelus System. Brand nu has ambitions for his character to set up a museum. Dasha is going a more medical route with her character, and Crix is now captain of the Orthanc.

The point I'm getting at, is that every character is different, what we all want to do with our characters is different, and there's no reason I see that, within reason, that you all can't be a part of Taldryan's inner workings without needing to a part of the Auxiliary Divisions. Do you have ambitions to set up a Mando Conclave? Go for it! Do you want to be a commanding officer in the Taldryan Navy? Absolutely! You just need to let the summit know and we will. The whole point of this is for you, the Clan members, to be engaged with our current location and characters and create our own thing. That's what Port Kasiya could be. A home for Taldryan, made by Taldryanites, and it doesn't need to be restricted there either. You have an entire system at your disposal. Basically, you have a lot of creative freedom to do what you want to do. This Clan is your home, and I want you to feel at home in it.

This will be Project Vos, because it is focused on you, the membership.

Does that mean the Auxiliary Divisions are being erased? No. They are still a vital part of Taldryan's inner workings, and will remain as such should anyone wish to interact with them, but it's not a requirement. (Not that it was anyways, but you get the point.)

I will open a thread in our Taldryan War Chat after this report goes out so we can all discuss this further.

Possessions And Bases

If you read Zxyl's recent Regent report, you will know about the newest additions that Clan's can purchase. Namely, planetary assets such as bases, turrets, shield gates, and much more.

If you take a look into our Clan possessions, you will see the Caelus System has been equipped with various bases, outposts and more!

I ran a series of 15 competitions over the last week to give you all a chance to name the majority of the ship's in the Taldryan Navy. The winners got their names put onto the ship's! Those are;

Our very own House Thanatos summit is hosting their own competition series Clan Wide!

Elysia: Claiming Aidos is running until the 7th of March! I've been participating myself and have really been enjoying the competitions. I'd highly recommend everyone take part!

Scholae Palatinae vs Taldryan: The Great Ewok Hunt

Surprise! Yes, folks, you read that correctly. Myself, 'Other Mav', Raleien, and Teebu have been working together to put this event forward for all of you!

Now, I should iterate right here that this is NOT a feud, simply because the premise of this event is a What If? Meaning that it is a non-canon event that we are doing for a bunch of silly fun. Because why not? We all need a little bit of silliness in our lives every now and then, and we've been going strong on our main storyline lately, so a little break from that will be fun. Teebu and I have had a blast working with the guys over at CSP to put this together.

The Great Ewok Hunt will run from the 7th of March until the 1st of April over three weeks of competitions. The details of scoring etc can be found in the container competition by clicking the link above.

The eventual plan for the future is to have a full, proper feud with CSP, but for now, we hope you enjoy this co-op event we've thrown together for you!

It's that time again where I get a taste of my own medicine and ask you guys to ask me questions.

• Zxyl Asks: What are you most looking forward to in the months to come, as it relates to Clan Taldryan?

Without spoiling too much, I'm looking forward to the Vendetta. It'll be my first one as Consul so, obviously, PRESSURE. But at the same time, Tal is full of great members and I know we will be absolutely fantastic.

Again, without spoiling too much, I'm looking forward to organising a co-op event, and then a potential feud with another Clan (More on that above in this report.) After the Vendetta, as well as concluding the Caelus Incursion story and moving on to the next big thing.

Then there's Project Vos. More on that, you guessed it in my report.

Another thing I'm looking forward to seeing is how our new members develop. We've had a sudden influx of new people in the Clan which has injected a positive energy. I'm looking forward to seeing them move through the ranks to knighthood. :)
