Tarentum Consul Report #3: On the Eve of Something Special

The haze of tobacco smoke filled the conference room though its source, a hand-rolled cigarette sitting in a simple black ashtray, had been apparently forgotten. Its owner, the Tarentum Consul Farrin Xies, lounged at the head of the conference table and stayed focused instead on the datapad in his hand. The monotony of ruling Yridia directly, instead of through the facade of democracy that had previously governed the system (into the ground, he thought), had taken up a significant amount of his time over the past few weeks, and his new responsibilities had kept him tired and irritable.

After a few minutes of silent reflection, there was a short rap at the door of the conference room door; without waiting for an answer, The door had barely slid open before Farrin's right-hand, the Sith Master Bloodfyre Tarentae, strode into the room. Without looking up from his datapad, the Consul nodded to his Proconsul and gestured to the plush seat next to him. After taking the offered seat, Bloodfyre retrieved a datapad from his robes and set it down in front of Farrin.

At that, Farrin looked up at the other man for a brief moment before setting down his original datapad and reaching for the Sith Master's. After scanning over it, the Corellian snorted. The last cell of the anti-Tarentum resistance had been found hiding in plain sight on Yridia IX. The last vestige of the rebellion against the Sith King could finally be put down like the dogs they were.

"My friend, this is good news. Alert Oberst, I want the 1st Special Operations Detachment to handle this."

The Shaevalien's head tilted slightly. "Why not send in Ranarr Kul and his men?"

Before Farrin could answer, there was another rap at the door. After a brief wait, the door slid open to emit the Corsair's commander, Del Jantsk. The captain saluted crisply before adding, "M'lords, sensors indicated a Plagueis vessel approaching. Should I prepare for their arrival aboard?" Farrin nodded to the naval officer, who quickly turned and left the room.

"Because, Bloodfyre, I have a feeling our visitors might have need of as many of us as we can offer."

Happy October, Tarenti! All of us - myself included - have been taking a much-deserved breather after the frenetic activity we saw during Reanimated. I know for myself that my RL job has been kicking my ass, but I'm looking forward to the event that we're putting together with Plagueis. I want to give a shout-out to Teylas and Slagar for really getting the bones of the event together even when Beef and I weren't as much help as we could be. One of our goals was to bring the people in our two units together, and we've already succeeded with the connection our two Summits have built.

DJB-Wide News

  • Arcona's got their Clan Rollmaster position open, but only for about another 24 hours or so. Atty, the Arc CON, is pretty awesome, so I definitely encourage you to consider applying!
  • I've heard there's some sort of new Star Wars vidya game out there, I think it's called Battlefront? There's an open beta right now with some pretty steep PC minimum specs, but I've heard some really good things about it so far so y'all should definitely head out there any play it. The PC version will be the official platform for the DJB, and I have a feeling it'll make up a big part of our gaming going forward. That's actually not the only new Star Wars game, however - there's a mobile game called Star Wars Uprising if you haven't heard about it that's sort-of like a Diablo game. I've played it a bit; to be honest, I didn't care for it, but I didn't play it for long so maybe I just didn't play it long enough.

Tarentum News

  • As I mentioned in the opening of my report, our long-awaited competitions with Plagueis will be starting tomorrow. More details will be coming tomorrow when we announce the events and everything else, but I'm really looking forward to this and I hope the rest of you are. We wanted to make it a cooperative (yet still competitive) event, and I think we've done some cool things to make that happen. The most important thing, however, will be participation; I want to encourage all of you to participate in as many events as you can, even if you don't think they're in your area of expertise. Let's show Plagueis how awesome we know we are!

We've got a fun month ahead of us, Tarentum, so let's get to it - Onward, Tarentum Momentum!

Yes, Tarentum shall display its prowess, and show that we still have what it takes to be competitive.

Don't worry, we'll help you guys remember how to be awesome at stuff.

Really looking forward to this, guys!

Looking forward to the competition with Plagueis! Should be a lot of fun.

GL HF! :)

All Tarenti/Tarentae are doing a great job. We've got some 'old' experts and some new members with great potential... We're ready to show what we're made of.

And so are we! Plagueis has some new members eager to prove themselves and some experienced older members too - me included. Bring it on and let's get busy!

This is going to be interesting.......My old masters......

Sorry Brimstone, this circle is NOT complete......
