Tarentum PCON Report #11

header

Normally, I'd like to have something of a fiction for the report, but there's time for that later. Instead, I want to congratulate a couple of people. Aabs, Howie and Teylas. Aabsdu (or whatever his name is now, Zanet?) recently resigned as MAA, and we appreciate his work. Howie has been appointed as the head button pusher, and is just the cutest DC member around now. And Teylas -- our good friend in Plagueis -- just resigned as Consul of that wonderful Clan. While none of the three are Tarenti, each has an impact upon us, and I am grateful for all three. I am grateful for every member of this Club, and the deeply profound impact they have upon me, and upon Tarentum as a whole. I have been in this Club for two decades. I joined first as Arikan Sol of House Satal Keto, but truly came into my stride as Sith Bloodfyre of Clan Tarentum.

I have made dear friends, gained family, and lost others along the way. Every person mentioned in any news post has probably affected me in some way. I get to work for Dracaryis, a great FIST. I get to assist Frosty in leading this Clan. I remember when the Romanae brothers (Frosty, Dox and Ylith, and now Geosh as well) took Tarentum by storm. I get to watch Ranarr grow as a future CON. Yes, I have no doubt he'll lead this Clan. I am inspired by the productive leadership of Sarin and Mav. Believe me, if you'd seen the plans for this Club of years and decades past, you'd seem them realized in this Dark Council and its amazing members. We have gained much in the Club in the last several years. It truly is a great place to be.

And Disney and LucasFilm are putting out cartoons, movies and more; oh my! Imagine where this Club is going! And imagine how the members around you will impact this wonderful gathering that we call the Dark Brotherhood!

This is an exciting time to be a member of this Club. And this Clan. I keep saying this: let's make 2017 the Year of Tarentum.

Telegram

So, I feel the need to emphasize and encourage this. Telegram is an opportunity for all of us to continue to live on-the-go, while staying connected to the Brotherhood. The world is full of smartphones, tablets, blackberries and anything else for each of us to utilize for email, internet, work and more. No longer are we tied to computers in order to stay actively involved in this Club. No longer do we wait to hide in our mancaves to play games and rise up to mastery in the Dark Side. Yes, or the Light Side. Or whatever you delve into.

We're people on-the-go, men and women connected around the world with our handheld devices, and Telegram helps keep us bound and tied as family. Go to the Apple… whatever store, or the Google Play something for iPhones and Android devices. Look up Telegram. After you install it, we can help get you added to the right Brotherhood chats.

Darkity Dark Necromancy Writing

If you've been around long enough, you know Tarentum is a dark, evil cult.

Although, if you've been around superlong, you know we started out as something different. Yridia II as a watery planet and home came out of Kaerner thinking Waterworld was a cool movie with an interesting concept. Tarentum was the Tau House with a bunch of fighter jockeys and drinking buddies coming together to form a House at the direction of Khyron, known in our lore as the Sith King of Yridia. Necromancy and Darkity Dark ermahgerd evil didn't come into play until my first term as Consul. At that time, we really cultivated an idea of being dark, evil, foreboding, obsessed with death, and committed to the truly darker side of things. This also encompassed powers. Maybe you remember those times. They were fun.

Today, we focus on themes for writing, rather than powers. Necromancy in Tarentum is about our cult, our way of life. Some people delve into it, others don't. The truly macabre members may study death and perform experiments with corpses, or torture the living to see where life ends and death begins. Others may be tormented souls who live in cemeteries and hear the voices of the dead, or feel at home among the cold inhabitants of the morgue. When we created the Mystics of the Black Arts, we created the Mystics Asylum as our home. It was a creepy, abandoned former sanitarium that still echoed with the voices and screams of patients long gone. With their ghosts and memories of the past. It was a central theme of writing.

This is where we should be taking our writing, our stories. With new members and veterans alike coming in, we're not concerned with raising zombies or skeletal hordes. There's examples of Necromancy in Star Wars, but it's limited, and is less about “powers” than feel. We should be that eerie group that really creeps out others that aren't a part of us. As you write, as you create stories, look more for that darkness and terror, those chilling or haunting images. If you need help, shout out in the Tarentum Telegram channel. People can definitely help you out.

Star Wars Force Arena

http://www.starwarsforcearena.com/

New mobile game. Try it out, see what you think. So far, I've heard it's supposed to be pretty good. I've started playing, and it seems a bit like Diablo for gameplay, but better than Uprising so far. Start playing if you like, and see what you think. Maybe it'll be a fad, maybe it'll catch on. We'll see. Cool characters, fun fights, and a little addicting.

The Family Of Tarentum

If you look at the mottos of other Clans, you gain insight into their lore, their history, their culture. You can feel their energy, their life, their passion. We have those who probe the darkness. Who stand out as a light. Conquerors, Imperials and those who seek to ascend. We have deep fraternity boys. And we have us.

Tarentum.

Darkity dark. Necrocreeps. Corpsehuggers. Isolationists. Friends. Family. Kin. Support. Listening ears. Mentors. Dearest, closest allies. There is a social bond in our Clan. I often say, Tarentum is a social club. Now, that's not to suggest that the other Clans aren't social. In Tarentum, it's what we seek after first and foremost. If the Brotherhood failed; if this Clan were closed, Tarentum would still exist. We would still gather. We would share in each other's pain and grief. We would delight in each other's triumphs and successes. This family will not fail.

And while we will always live and grow as a family, we still need to grow and thrive as a Clan. As a part of this Club. We still have room to evolve and return from the ashes. Death never fails. The Reaper will always come for you. Maybe you'll evade the icy hand of Oblivion for a time, but even the gods fail, even they fall. Even gods die. Even mortal men can bury immortal men. We must be that slow, creeping doom that grows in dread power with each step. We must spread our wings and fly.

You always have a place in Tarentum, but we do need to partake of the richness of the Dark Brotherhood and be involved in the longevity of the Club. If we do not, then what are we truly doing? Facebook and Telegram bind us together as friends. Instagrams and Twitters share our lives and thoughts. Let's be more readily involved in the strength and spirit of the Club. I think each and every Tarenti and Tarentae ought to seek out opportunities on the DC as either staff, or full DC members. Let's show every other Clan and our fellow peers that we can give back, as well.

Tarentum is family. Let's share our bonds with everyone.

To Wrap It Up

2017 is the Year Of Tarentum. I believe this sincerely. In order to make it ours, we have to reach out and take it. We don't need to be complex or convoluted in our outlook. Tarentum is a social club. We are friends. We are family. We're kin. Many of you have been closer to me than most others for just about two decades. Others, we're just beginning to have or build those bonds, but they're there. Tarentum mimics life. If you put your heart and soul into it, you'll find passion and peace. You'll find entertainment and excitement. You'll find emotional rewards and enjoyment.

Don't be afraid to be a part of the Brotherhood and its events. Learn to use the ACC. Create character sheets. Take on Frosty in Jedi Academy. Make friends. Be an evil genius. Be the darkest Sith around. Torment your enemies in stories you create. The ability to destroy a planet is insignificant next to the powers of your mind in this Club. There's reasons to stay involved, and we want you to share in our passion for being here. We want to help you cultivate your own love and enjoyment here. We're happy and excited to help make you successful. Let's get you to Knighthood and beyond. Let's raise up some Equites and new Elders.

TL;DR
-Get on Telegram!
-Dark themes of Necromancy.
-Force Arena; new game, check it out.
-Share our family, and be involved with the Club.

I love you guys. I sincerely mean that. We might not be winning GJWs for now, but Tarentum is an amazing family, and an unbreakable legacy. Have a wonderful week.

<3 Beef.

Great report! Really loved what you wrote! You make me miss my times as a Tarenti...

I genuinely hope to get to write alongside/with the Tarenti as a continuation of the alliance Estle-Eden Axis. I'll be referring back to this post when I get the opportunity to try and be sure I do what I can to capture that same aspect of Tarentum. Good stuff Beef and I look forward to seeing Tarentum's writers at work!

Great report Beef! Force Arena can be fun especially with others. I just wish it had a smaller pay wall, but it's still very fun
