Welcome!

Greetings my fellow Tarenti, and welcome to the first report from your new Rollmaster. I've been charged by our Quaestor and Aedile with not only heading up our Master/Student Program and overseeing our Journeymen as they make their way to Knighthood, but also focusing on recruitment for the House. My reports, which I'm aiming to release midmonth between the QUA and AED reports, will give you some updates on House news but will focus mostly on those two items. So, without further ado, let's get to it.

House News

• The House Summit is gearing up to begin the next phase in our House-wide competition series, Ravaged. I know you've heard that before, but with the almost complete change in the Summit it's taken us all a little bit of time to get everything back in motion. I'm looking forward to it, and I hope all of you are too!
• There are a number of House-wide competitions running currently, including one of my own. Starrett is running "Anger, Fear, Aggression" (a writing comp) which ends August 31st and "The Rise of Tarentum" (a graphics comp) which ends August 24th. Hades is running a really interesting writing comp titled "A Day in the Life..." which ends in just a couple of days on August 19th, so I'd definitely recommend getting on that one quickly. Korras is running a writing comp called "Lightsaber Combat" which runs until tomorrow, August 18th (so you really need to hop on that one!). Finally, I'm running a comp that started yesterday on a fun little Flash game (also available for Android and iOS) called Entangled; the competition will run until August 30th and is entitled "Don't Get Entangled!"

Member Spotlight

Something that I'm going to be trying to do each month is highlight one Tarenti in particular that I feel has really been an active member and example for the House. Now, as Rollmaster I don't have the authority to award medals or promotions, so this doesn't come with any kind of tangible reward, but it's my hope that each month someone realizes that their hard work is noticed and appreciated. This month, I want to recognize DJK Orion Aries Rial. I'm not going to rattle off his accomplishments in the past month - go look at his dossier and you'll see why, it'd take me forever - but the entire House Summit has had their inboxes blown up this month by Rial's kicking ass in every facet of the DB, from an insane number of CFs to numerous SA courses and degrees. As an example, he recently received the Dark Maven in Web Design, in Web Scripting, and the Dark Savant in Programming. Since those degrees came out a few months back, they've only been awarded to a total of 9,6, and 7 people, respectively, and so I'm beyond impressed for that alone. Truly a job well done, Rial.

Recruitment

We all, every single one of us, really need to step it up as far as recruitment goes. More people in the House leads to more activity, more activity leads to more people, more people leads to more activity, and so on and so forth... until eventually the Dark Council will have no choice but to give us our Clanhood back. I cannot wait until the day where we're Clan Tarentum again, and I know you guys can't either, so help us get back to that point. I like House Tarentum, but Clan Tarentum just has so much of a better ring to it, don't you think?
