Voice Supplemental #3.2: A New Combat Master!

As One Leaves, Another Enters the Ring:

Two weeks ago, I put out a call for a new Combat Master in the wake of our Wombat Master's decision to resign. Tonight I'm here to announce our newest Staff Member, Vincent Brujah! Vincent has long been interested in the position and is joining our team with a litany of new and exciting ideas in mind. May he serve the community well, and may blood continue to flow in the ACC.

Update: Species Classification and Character Sheet Reference tool

I spoke (twice in recent history) about the changes to the Hybrid Species policy. I am glad to announce that the primary work behind this has been completed. All species have been updated across both the Character Sheet Reference tool and within the DBWiki to reflect their new classifications. The current classifications are slightly more in-depth than the previous system, so, before any of you interested in making a hybrid character run off to do so, please check against the Character Sheet Reference tool (or wiki) to make sure both species share a classification.

I'll break down the categorization of what we have here:

33 Human/Near-Humans, 9 Reptilians, 9 Reptomammals, 6 Amphibians, 3 Felids, 3 Simians, 3 Porcines, 2 Arctoids, 2 Avians, 2 Insectoids, 2 Lagomorphs, 2 Sentient Plants, 1 Arachnid, 1 Canid, 1 Cetacean, 1 Elephantine, 1 Slug, and 6 Unclassified.

Thanks to our wonderful Seneschal, James, the Character Sheet Reference tool has also received a recent Quality of Life update to improve readability, condense non-essential information, and highlight it as a key DB resource (seriously, go click resources and find it under the Fiction Center, it's pretty cool!). You'll find we've migrated details relating to Species from the Wiki into their relevant places in the Species category, and are constantly working to make the CSR a more relevant, central, point of access for anything you could need at any given time regarding your daily character use.

Some of these updates adjust how you'll see data elsewhere on the site, if you'll take a look here at my awkward Praetor:

You'll notice that the infobox for Human has grown somewhat. This comes as part of the expanded data stored in the CSR, which now shares a standardized infoset with the Wiki and, for the most part, looks like this.

Under Jenni's recommendation, I've been asked to start a practice, and to announce it so that everyone knows to check for it.

Everyone has gotten to know and love the daily #character-questions in Fiction Chat, buuuuuuuut, we are a boisterous bunch and conversation in the channel can move at Mach Kark, so, starting today we are going to begin Pinning the Daily Topic, so anyone can find it and chime in, without worry about getting lost among the sea of indecipherable chaos we call home.

Probably Tired of Me Already

It's barely been two months, and I've put out nearly half as many announcements as I did throughout my entirety as Odan-Urr's Consul of nearly 2 years. There's just a lot of moving parts, updates, and it is on me to keep all of you up to date. Now that I've gotten settled in and knocked out some of the first issues on my plate and done key hirings (aside from the M:Voice position I am still hiring for) you'll probably see me less randomly and more for focused events— Unless I get another bee in my bonnet and we launch more Species, Skills, or Feats. You'll likely see more from my Praetor, both in her role as Praetor and Wiki Tribune, and Reiden's regular reports collating recent Policy, Species, Feat, etc. updates.
