Mustafar Mining Facility

Lava is mined as a precious natural resource on this volatile and volcanic world. The opposing gravitational forces of the twin gas giants closest to Mustafar tear apart the planet’s surface to reveal the mineral-rich lava flows underneath. Once serving as the capital world for the Confederacy of Independent Systems, remnants of their past influence still linger. Massive mining facilities - originally constructed by the Techno Union - are still maintained by the native Mustafarians, an egocentric people who would like nothing more than to squeeze minerals for the purposes of trade and commerce from their volcanic planet.

Other than in the pursuit of business interests, few arrive on Mustafar save for those needing to incinerate evidence in its vast expanses of magma. What little curiosity is given to the volcanic planet is thwarted by a natural scanning interference caused by intense geological activity. Pirates, smugglers, criminals and scum all value this world’s ability to dump bodies, tracked cargo shipments and other unwanted articles—the singular reason for the Black Sun’s interest in the Outer Rim world.

Droids, machines and conveyor belts create the workings of an efficient system to extract the minerals and have it prepared for refinement and transportation. Lacking a suitable surface, metal walkways are shielded against the heat to allow workers passage throughout the facilities. Even with the worst of the heat being shielded against, Mustafar’s temperature remains less than comfortable to most species lacking exoskeletons.

Beyond the blistering heat of the volcanic world, Mustafar served as the battlefield for the fabled final duel between Obi Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker.

Ash and smoke swirled around the young Kaleesh, his cloak whipping around in the wind on one of the many platforms that overlooked the mining operations that was positioned over a large lava flow that the natives of this planet mined for minerals. The heat of the planet was well beyond what he was accustomed to, but at the same time he welcomed it, staying in his cool ship had taken its toll on the Juggernaut’s body.

This place and the sweltering heat reminded him of his home and the rolling desert where he once hunted and fought, it was a comforting feeling but his mind soon pushed it to the side as he refocused on his mission here. The Inquisitorius needed materials for the Iron throne and its war machines, and planets like this were willing to trade with those who paid the right price.

But with the contract now signed, his time on this inhospitable lava world was now at an end and soon he would need to return for his next mission. Before the Kaleesh could turn around, a cold chill ran up his spine as he sensed a presence coming up from behind him, one that was painstakingly familiar.

Inwardly, he sighed at the Miraluka’s foolish choice to come after him despite his warning to her when he left Arcona. Yet he knew this would have happened one way or another, she was far too stubborn like her predecessors to let something like this go.

Perhaps this was finally the day she would learn when to give up on someone, that there are people who don't want to be saved, those that cannot be redeemed. There are those that want to stay in the dark, those who enjoy it over the overbearing light that she preached to anyone that would listen.

Reaching to his side, he let his hand rest on the lightsaber hitched to his belt before unhooking it and turning around to face the leader of Arcona. She walked forward in her normal attire, the blue and white coloring contrasting with the red haze of the environment. Her blindfolded face locked onto his even as she stopped some twenty feet away from the Kaleesh.

No words were spoken between them for several minutes, the only sounds that were heard was the churning of lava and wind on the air that made the woman's white braided hair flow and sway with the harsh breeze.

It was the Sith who spoke first and his even and cold tone range cleared over the wind and sound.

“I warned you when I left Selen that anyone you sent I would kill, that even includes you, Atyiru.”

A soft smile formed on her face as he spoke, it was sad but understanding as even her words were laced with sympathy for the warrior that stood in front of her.

“I know what you said and I know you were hurt and confused when you left us Rrogon, so much happened at once there was nothing I could do to stop what happened that day and my heart broke when I learned the truth Ve…” Her words were cut short by the ignition of the Kaleesh’s lightsaber, it's humming blade snapping to life cutting her off.

“Do not say her name, none of you are worthy of speaking it anymore. You say there was nothing you could do but that is a lie, you say your heart broke but you know nothing of true pain like I do.”

Pacing back and forth now, the Sith’s words were like ice and venom as they were spat at the woman.

“Do you know what it felt like when I held her in my arms dead and lifeless knowing that her and my child were dead? Could you even imagine knowing that not once but three times this has happened to me. First with my whole family on Kalee, second here in the Brotherhood with Nath and Zakath, and now this.”

Atyiru stood by quietly watching the Juggernaut pace back and forth, each word he spoke seeming to not affect her.

“Every time I allow myself to love another, this twisted and ruined galaxy takes it away and reminds me how truly cruel it can be. So you tell me how in the name of your so called gods you can make this right, make some lie and say how it was all a mistake!”

She took a moment to compose herself before the Augur spoke.

“I don't know what to say. Rrogon, but I know that everything has happened for a reason. The Force works in ways we cannot understand as does Ashla and Bogan, cruel as it may be there must be a greater purpose behind it, so please lower your weapon and come peacefully. I can promise that you will not be harmed as we figure this out together.”

Rogons eyes burned with cold anger as he paced, his mechanical grip tightening on the lightsaber in his hand.

“Your gods are silent and dead just like mine were they living and able to stop such cruelty in this galaxy, but no they stand by like dead gods do and let us suffer!”

Throwing his left hand forward, he unleashed his rage in a telekinetic strike that the Arconan raised her hands to deflect with her own barrier which took the brunt of the attack, but still she was forced on her heels and slid back a few feet.

Not letting the Augur a moment to regain her footing, the Kaleesh charged forward and leapt into the air allowing the Force to flow and carry him higher and faster than his body would normally allow. Bringing his violet saber down in a crushing blow, the woman only barely dodged to the side her own magenta blade hissing to life.

The Siths blade clove deep into the metal floor of the overlook before it wiped up to clash into the Miraluka’s blade forcing her back a few steps by the sheer force behind the Battlemaster blade.

“If I'm forced to live in a world that only wants to tear me down and take that which I love then it is only right that I do the same! Starting with you and Arcona.” Hissed the Juggernaut as he bore down on the Consul again and again his blade weaving a deadly net of plasma and death, his dominating form and footwork forcing her back time and time again.

“So tell me Atyiru, what do you see in me that's so redeemable, Do you see my former self when I first came to Arcona broken and full of hate or do you see the man before dead and cold to the world around him?”
