Two towering, tinted, transparisteel doors slide open to grant you access to the central chamber of the Combat Training Halls. The main room is wide and open and as large as as a holoball field. Tall walls stretch towards a domed ceiling that is made up of rows of ambient lights that spread out and fill the room with soft even lighting that eliminates any shades or shadows. Those same walls are lined around the perimeter with racks and stacks of varied weaponry: everything from swords and polearms to rifles and flamethrowers.

There are two signs that hover over each weapon rack to create an alternating motif in the Combat Training Hall: “No Explosions” and “Accorded Neutral Territory”. While the first is fairly obvious, the second speaks to the single law of the Training Halls: all members of the Brotherhood are welcome, and no member is to be killed or maimed without incurring the wrath of the Grand Master and the Inquisitori.

A trio of training dummies are statically set up and spread out in a line, each made out of a blend of alloys and padding that can withstand blows from any standard weaponry with the exception of lightsaber blades. To the side of the dummies, a large sparring matt has been stretched out to create a larger footprint than the typical Shock-Boxing ring. The padding is good for helping teach new combat students how to take a fall without injury and offers firm footing, but the hard durarubber mat is hardly forgiving.

Behind the sparring area is a door that leads to a small archives that combat students can use to view holorecordings of fights and duels from the past as well as relevant information on combat tactics, techniques, and forms. On the opposite side of the archives at the far end of central room is the locker room that members can safely store their equipment.

The final and probably most important element of the Combat Training Hall is the onsite Med Ward. The maglock door is sealed off and can only be opened by an attending Medic. The Medical facilities feature state of the art bacta tanks for recovery and aftercare. A combination of observation and waiting room rests adjacent to the recovery center and features two large monitors that display a live feed of the central room.

The Combat Halls are staffed around the clock, allowing combat students and mentors alike to come and go as they please at odd or regular hours. It also reserved for members looking to prove their worth to compete in the Antei Combat Center.

Mactire stood in the center of the training room moving slowly to an unknown beat in his head. The rhythm flowed through his body as he moved about on the mat. This training center was the only one where anyone could spar with each other from other clans in order to feel out their strengths and weaknesses. There were others hear with practice sabers and blasters striking at training dummies.

Mactire smirked to himself keeping his eyes on everyone while appearing not to notice anything. This made it easier for the Human to grasp his surroundings without interfering with others training.

Eyes slowly shifted towards the Human at the center of the room as he kicked and flipped with ease, flowing from one movement to the next without ever so much as a pause. It appeared to be fluid as water yet powerful as a stone. Every Zabrak in the area, made snide comments about their native style being used by a Human. It shamed them inside, but they respected the rules of the Training Room, and went back to their sparing sessions.

A figure walks up to Mactire slowly moving between the people in the room. The Human catches a glimpse of them as they slowly circle around him. The figure appears to be a male with a cloth wrapped around his eyes. The brown hair that the figure has looks like that of a military member. Slowly the figures long black cloak opens as an armory saber appears in its left hand.

“I sensed you from across the room, your aura is slightly different from the others. Please spar with me if you have the time?” The figure asks with a hint of pure politeness in his voice.

“Great another person who wants to spar. What do I have a Please spar with me sign on my back or something? And what’s your name anyway kid?” Mactire replies slowly reaching for his saber.

“I am but a vessel of the Light, but you may call me Talis of the Miraluka.” The Miraluka responds igniting his Amethyst saber and thrusting it towards the Human.

Mactire leaps and rolls backwards putting as much distance as he can between himself and Talis. On reflex the Emerold saber ignites, forcing the Human to take on this challenge.

Talis smiles swinging his saber towards Mactire. The Human’s blade connects with the Miraluka’s, forcing sparks to ignite as both push against each other trying to gain the upper hand. Mactire puts a hard kick into the right ribs of Talis, staggering him off to the side.

“Always keep your guard up my kid. You never know what can happen.” Sheer pleasure comes from Mactire as he feels that the battle may be over sooner than he expected.

“I will keep that in mind,” Talis replied as he readied himself for their fight.

He had originally wanted to spar, but using an underhanded trick was not something the Miraluka liked having used against him. Talis waded in at the man as he began pooling the Force in both his hands. The Miraluka released his lightsaber with his right hand as it’s amethyst blade clashed with the emerald beam of his opponent, releasing his pent up Force in his left hand.

With his now free right hand, Talis utilized a strike to the outside of the Human’s upper thigh with the points of his fingers. Mactire stumbled hard to the side as he felt his left leg go numb. A wave of confusion rolled over him as he grasped at his leg with his left hand and awkwardly bounded to a safe distance.

“That my friend was me crushing your lateral femoral nerve with the Force,” Talis’ demeanor had changed to arrogance, “Maybe you should have practiced what you preach and kept your defenses up, old man.”

Talis could see the confusion roll over Mactire’s aura like a wave as he limped hard and tried to stay on his feet. Talis paced back and forth as he decided how he would assail the man next. It wasn’t until he looked around that he realized that the two men had gained an audience. Talis turned and nodded towards the onlookers and gave them a subtle wave.

Mactire saw this and used this time to fix his leg. He delved into the Force and began prodding around the nerve cluster to try and discern the damage done. It took him a couple seconds as he kept a watchful eye on Talis who had returned to pacing and who was now smiling a little. He was able to quickly find the nerve and began repairing it, surprised at how much damage had really been done to the area from the strike.

“Don’t be so surprised that it did that much damage,” Talis’ comments pulled the Human away from his task to stare at the Miraluka in bewilderment, “I can see what you are feeling, remember?”

Mactire took a deep breath and calmed himself and began trying to repair the crushed nerve once more. Talis didn’t give him a chance. He bounded forward and struck down at him from up high with his violet blade.
