Kashyyyk Rainforest Canopies

The wild planet of Kashyyyk is known to be home to the gentle, but short-tempered race of Wookiees. Wild and untamed, the lush, wroshyr tree-filled forests form a multi-layered deathtrap. The local wildlife presenting more dangers as one descends towards the forest floor. However, as one ascends the vertical environment, the danger of falling increases until one comes in contact with the Wookiee settlements. Fauna and flora flourish in delight, growing within dirt pockets in the crevices of the trees. Some of these plants are carnivorous, becoming larger and deadlier closer to the forest floor. Others have some form of consciousness, able to communicate with the Wookiees to give some understanding of their use.

Kashyyyk Rainforest Canopies

Above the Wookie settlements rests the wild rainforest canopies. Within the crevices of the trees, empty fruit and rotting shells from seeds show the spring season has ended. A soft wind whistles between the thick vines and shrubs that stick to the trunks of the ancient and sleeping giants. Despite the never-ending lack of footholds aside from the branches of wroshyr trees, a series of abandoned and rotting platforms are suspended a hundred meters above the surface, once home to its own Wookiee settlement. Overgrown and decayed, it has since nourished countless plants and trees with their outstretched branches sheltering the dense and soft floor from the extreme sun rays and torrential rain. Upon closer inspection unusual signals become noteable. Moss carpets particular areas on the platforms and nowhere else, and tree-dwelling animals and birds never seem to land on the surface.

Tread carefully, or fall whim to the creatures that inhabit this terrain.

Mactire slowly walked down the long wooden bridge to the abandoned town. High above the canopy many have lost their lives due to a misstep. That was the thought that raced through his mind as he walked closer to the decaying buildings. The air around him seem rancid, as if death had come here far too often.

Continuing down the bridge, he kept glancing around him. The hairs on the back of his neck slowly stood up. Though the area alone could have made even the most seasoned warriors nervous. Something kept tickling on the back of his mind. Slowly calling him to this place that even most Wookiees feared to tread.

Reaching the first building Mactire slowly rubbed the back of his neck, trying to ease the tension that was building up inside of him.

“You were always tense when coming to area’s of turmoil and pain. Though it seems you’ve slowly managed to slightly get a grip on your anger.” A voice from his hesitantly surmised, as a robed figure walked  slowly out of the shadow of the abandoned hut.

The figure was wearing loose robes, the hair on his head could be matched to the brown of some of the wooden huts around them. His eyes still pierced him as if still trying to see where all the paths in life truly lead to. His smile, though kind, seemed off key to the expression and tension behind his eyes.

“I see you haven’t changed much Master. How are you these days? Still trying to convert most of the Clan?” Mactire asked, amusingly. Keeping his eyes on his former Master, was second nature to him, when there was only two people in an area this small, and not populated.

Master Sanguinius chuckled lightly, looking at his former apprentice with patience and determination. “Maybe I am, maybe I’m not. What will, is the will of the Force. You know this my young student.”

Sighing heavily the Shadow nodded lightly. “Well, since you’re here how about a sparring…..”

Before the Shadow could finish his sentence a swift kick landed against his upper left side knocking him down, making him gasp for breath.

Panting heavily Mactire glared at Sanguinius the Defender, the Jedi and growled deeply. Charging towards his former Master. Leaping into the air, with his right foot thrust forward.

The Defender flipped back and to the side avoiding the kick just barely. As they glanced at each other Sanguinius was suddenly facing the sky, for Mactire had quickly dropped and did a low sweep spin kick, fast and hard, knocking him down.

“I hate people with little honor in fights you know that!” Mactire growled at Sanguinius, while slowly standing tall, as the wind suddenly raised up and lightly moved his trench coat back around him.

As they locked eyes, Sanguinius smirked.
