I am honored to award Alara Deathbane her first ever Steel Cross. Since the turn of the new year, she has forged herself as a necessary and committed leader within the ranks of Clan Scholae Palatinae. Without her dedication as a peer leader then eventual Aedile of House Excidium, we would not be as far along as we are. This is a well earned award en route towards Equite II.

Since her last recognition, Alara has participated in 29 competitions, (co)organized 8 competitions, finished 4 ACC Battles, penned 6 Fiction Activities (14618 words!), passed 8 Shadow Academy courses, and earned 2 Dark Side Degrees. In that same period of time, she has collected numerous awards: 10 Crescents (2 Cr-D, 3 Cr-R, 3 Cr-S, 1 Cr-E, 1 Cr-Q), 43 Clusters of Ice and 11 Clusters of Graphite. In addition, Alara has recently taken up the post of Aedile of House Excidium. For over a month, she has been an eager student and proponent for change within the House. She leads from the front lines, creating google-docs for every task we set out to complete (March & April House competitions, March Fiction Updates 1 & 2, etc). Her participation and activity in bringing these projects to fruition is very promising for a future Quaestor in our club. With her personal contributions, ability to get others involved, and proofreading... we have penned over 15 pages of House Fiction for our members in just over 30 days! Add this to an already impressive list of things she does as an Aedile: works side-by-side with the members of our Battle Team (tackling issues and helping refine competitions/projects with their leaders Shadow and Kylex), establishing research and sharing it with others for a new Battle Team (another g-doc and several pages of notes/in-depth review of their proposed direction), and her willingness to participate in the ACC and encourage others to participate, too.

Alara, I am humbled by your determination and grit as a new leader in our Clan. You openly push your members with the natural finesse of a mother hen - driving them towards the best versions of themselves. The amount of tasks you complete and your time management gets better with each week. I hope this award lets you know how much I need you and how proud I am of your development thus far.
